I am not against FF changing but I just find it weird to say stuff like this

didn't they already do this lmao

but they always stucked to one thing

I am happy Yakuza is doing turn based game but I also completely understand any fan of the brawler ones not being a fan of the new direction because it's just the complete opposite

FF will likely never go back to tb because of how well received 7R combat is

7R is imo the best way going forward

and it's completely unique

I more meant the mainline games just becoming a board game

to SE

But yeah I think there are a few of them

I just can't see SE improving or changing 7R style combat even more after remake trilogy

shit will get so bloated

with mechanics

and they need to deliver the same combat system or else people will be pissed

and they likely can't do that

due to lack of resources

I mean, I can see how

they couldn't even make all party members playable in rebirth

If a new FF game uses Remakes combat, then the materia system goes away and replaces something else

That's already going to change a lot

3-4 characters is probably the maximum amount they can do

They already boiled it down to one character, can't be worse than that

it likely takes shitton of resources to make other characters happening

I will say, I do wish more games had their whole party playable at the same time, like how P5S did it's final boss and used the full party

for example Xenoblade doesn't have this problem because all the characters share the same build due to the job system

but in 7R all the characters have unique atb skills

unique limit breaks

and all that shit needs to be balanced

In OT2

you can play all 8 party members at the same time during a certain point of the story

 

and it's so firetrucking sick

I never finished Strikers, that's neat

I do hope that part switching mid battle is a thing in Rebirth

Strikers did it differently, basically there are 3 separate arenas and you assign a party of 4 to each arena and jump between each party throughout the boss fight

And that you can not play as Cloud

Just have any other three in the party
