I feel there's a philosophical compromise that can be made here; I think it's important to hold onto optimism in this medium, as it's far too easy to be cyncial, but there are at times histories and patterns to be recognized with certain practices and ideas- not on a 1:1 blanket way, but in a case by case way.

DaZ has just as much right to say his reasons why he doesn't trust pre-orders, just as much as Cole does to pre-order the Destiny 2 thing cause ultimately, it's our wallets, our time, our choices.

I think the differing opinons, especially in a server like this where we've all (you guys way more than me) have all known each other a while, it keeps things from getting stagnant. Wasn't that the issue with KH3 when you get down to it? People claiming it was absolute trash when it wasn't or that it was perfect when it wasn't?

Tl;dr, imo, yes, we shouldn't discourage positive thinking in fact we should encourage it I think, but I also believe we shouldn't write off any criticism as always coming from a place of 'raining on the parade' hate either

Yes and that's why I always try to make sure people realize things arent just "this or that" and that these topics and conversations require WAY more deep dives than just surface level, twitter-length responses and black or white thinking. its so much more than "this is good" or "this is bad" and both sides should see that, but also that both sides usually arent entirely right or wrong either. both sides can have great point and most often times do, but i feel like some of the conversations can get muddied and lost when people bring up points that arent directly affecting the topic at hand even though on their own they are good points, if that makes sense at all lol

not saying that's what happened here btw, just my thoughts on this sort of subject overall

I hope they repeat Heavensward in terms of raids because yoshi said that they want to make fights more creative

and when they did that in Heavensward it killed the raiding scene

the first raid tier in heavensward was so hard that the majority of raiders couldn't clear it

and that got combined with 8-12 months of no content because the team was burned out from ARR and needed a break
