There have been several reports/rumors that Sony has been 'severely disappointed' with Bungie and they might just fully take them over and put them with the rest of their studios instead of letting them be independent anymore. I have nothing to validate this. Just things I've heard from other places/people/Discords/websites

Weve known for the past year that Lightfall didn't overdeliver as they hoped, which is why all of this happened. They fired the wrong people, it wasn't the devs fault at all as they were practically begging to bring the good content back, but the higherups essentially refused for whatever reason.

Thankfully they allowed Into the Light to be made as it's great so far, and hopefully The Final Shape will be as well in two weeks.
