how's that work, exactly? i mean, i figure you got them from an area that you were able to access because of the whole "no invisible walls" thing, but how are you unable to use it?

every echo has a cost. you start the game with 3 and most echoes costing 1, so you can use 3 at a time or you could summon a single 3cost echo for example

i got a few 4 and 5 cost echoes while i was exploring

the cool thing is that, if you have the bar upgraded to 4 and use an echo with 2cost and then want to summon one with 3, the game doesn't just "error" you and tell you you can't, it automatically desummons the other one in exchange for the 3cost one you want

so you could summon a 4 cost, let it fight and when you know it's about to die just go ahead and resummon instead of waiting for it to die. or you could summon, let it attack, and resummon to skip the attack animation cooldown

good for repositioning too

yeah its been a really fun combat system to play with. also really fun having to figure out how to fight every enemy with different echoes rather than just "block, swing sword" like always. very refreshing
