So the english dub of Uzumaki is on Max (streaming app) so I went ahead and watched ep 1

At this point... I just don't think I'm a fan of Ito's works. I just don't 'get it'. I really don't. I don't think I ever will. This shit isn't scary. It's only weird as hell. People are overrating this shit. Sorry. My frustration is coming out again I guess

but hey... at least there's a contender for disappointment of the year for my personal awards at the end of the year

Ito's works leans more into body horror and the weirdness of it

It's scary but not in a horror slasher fic or something

But more so in how the story unfolds and what is happening

Not gonna say anything on the anime as I haven't seen it but his art in the manga is very unique too and stands out with how he's telling the story

The main issue I've heard from other people talking about it is that they tried to cram the entire story into 4 20 minute episodes which does not work at all

The issue is also that his work doesn't work in the anime format

I haven't read Uzumaki since I was a kid but I feel like that should be doable

But my memory is hazy on that

You'll have to watch it for yourself to tell, I have never read the manga so I have no point of reference
