The main issue I've heard from other people talking about it is that they tried to cram the entire story into 4 20 minute episodes which does not work at all

The issue is also that his work doesn't work in the anime format

I haven't read Uzumaki since I was a kid but I feel like that should be doable

The manga is so detailed the drawings are insane

Junji Ito's work would probably only work with the same quality as the old ghibli movies. And then it still needs insane soundwork
