But if we start judging a game based on time = price then so many JRPGs need to be over 100 bucks just to play

No

Im judging its quality here

I payed that much

I expect a FULLY FLEDGED game

Not a 13 hour game with collectsbles

Literally the same as the first game

Except here you also have two protagonists

It was cheaper plus thats why its the first game

EXACTLY TWO PROTAGS NEEDS TO MEAN MORE CONTENT

Hellblade? Pretty sure that was 40 or 50

LMAO

Hellblade

40 hours

Cmon otti

You clearly know I meant price there

Snake was talking hours

So i just assumed i did not clearly know my bad

But yes Spiderman 2 was a huge let down especially considering hiw insomniac takes their time to make quality games

(Even though i know like 4/5 games they made)

so the basic idea muki is presenting is that a game's price needs to be worth the amount of content it has, and content is determined by hours of play time. is that about right?

Sounds about right

I rarely ever buy games on full price cuz of that, only ones i do are from series im familiar with

but what about something like hellblade? it has minimal content (finished in 4 hours, apparently) but there was a lot of work put into it, so it gets a standard price tag instead of a reduced one

Play it on gamepass

Cuz i know i sure did

A 4 hour game with work put into it isnt worth the standard price twge

A 4 hour game with work put into it isnt worth the standard price tag

but what do you do if it's not on gamepass, or if a person doesn't want to buy gamepass? they still have to assign a price to it in that case

Then they buy it on sale

but for there to be a sale, there has to be a standard price first. we're going in circles avoiding the price here

By all means splurge on what you want but some games arent worth their pricing

Pricing for games is usually to make a profit and get reimbursed for the money they spent, a company making 4 hour games releases them as £60 is robbing guys out of their money

You can’t compare the likes of ragnarok to hellblade, one is actually worth its price

In the case of spiderman we got let down in other ways too.
Side stories were not necessarily complete especially the carnage one cuz we thought there was gonna be a tie in dlc, no new game plus at launch aswell. 13 hours of content spread between two characters is bullshit. Two characters is supposed to mean theres more content, more things to do, more to the story. Some parts of the game can be considered filler as well so yeah

Spiderman 2 did not live up to its hype and wasnt worth its price

But how would a DLC then solve the issue, you are still putting more money into the product for one you found disappointing

If anything them focusing on a new game is better

Dlc wouldn’t solve it yes but it would atleast patch up a whole ass side story they left un finished

And I don't really get the carnage part. I agree it wasn't completed but it was also set up as something that would continue whether in a new sequel or something else. DLC was never promised to begin with, the only way people know of a DLC is because of the insomniac hack.

But it wouldn't just be a patch, you would still need to pay for it.

DLC wasn’t promised but the way they presented it you would think it was

Not patch in the technical sense, i meant like continuation of the story

Yet another nintendo lawsuit against a pirate t
