I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

It is

but then you have shit like the game key cards, the scam astrobot game that should be 4 free, the scam voice chat

But like damn they’re turning everything and everyone against them

Its so stupid

Good for her

(Who the hell is Pint)

||"The amount of people who look at a situation where genocide is the outcome but go "well, it's not fully a good or bad thing" is genuinely shell-shocking to me.

I wasn't expecting so many people to so easily handwave clear evil actions because the character has motives."||

33 ending spoiler @Otti#8624

Oh no the discourse of this game is cooked

Counterargument

Verso is hot

I get the moral arguments regarding genocide but I feel like there are so many things going on that you can't just focus on that

For one thing, the genocide already happened. Renoir already killed everyone. The choice comes down to letting the painting get destroyed or Maelle reviving everyone in her image

Just finished, I ultimately think both endings are wrong, Malles just losing herself to the canvas just irks me and reviving everyone was just odd

Dont know if I wouldve liked the other ending either, but ya am a little conflicted on how they went about it which I guess is the point

maybe i didn't understand something but,

people in the canvas aren't real so what verso does is simply free his sister (who isn't even his sister since he's just a creation himself)

I would still consider them real. They acted of their own will and everything since the start of the game. The issue comes to what they are in Maelles ending. Do they still have free will and Verso is the only one forced into this life or does it go for everyone.

to me it's the same as like detroit become human, trying to make you believe fake people deserve something because they act like real people, but they aren't people, here it's painted beings instead of androids but they don't matter in the actual reality, only the painters are real

we are getting FFXIV Dawntrail discourse let's gooo

My take on this is:
||
I don't consider them real because they are all just a parody of existing people. They are essentially just deepfakes. This is not a case like Roxas in Kingdom Hearts for example.||

That's only the case with the fake dessendres. The rest are original creations with their off springs

it's not just then either. There are also the gestrals and the other big guys I can't remember the name of

they are real as they can be. They feel, they cry, they have pain, they can make a new generation of people. Everything about them is real inside the canvas

Does the game explain|| whether the creations have their own heart and soul and aren't just based on what the creator wanted them to be. Are these people just running on a script or are the decisions they are making their own? (also ik this sounds philosophical as firetruck)

How do we even define what makes someone their own person and alive?||

They make their own decisions. You see that from the moment the game starts and every journal you find in the game.

in a side content in act 3, the soul of real Verso also suggests everyone of them have their own soul. But it's also just what a kid thinks so it's a bit hard to take it as a fact but it does fit in what the game has done

I love this so much

this scene was a firetrucking masterpiece

there is no actual explanation of how it works i think, most of the lore is about what happens in the world not how it works

either way the reason why I choose versos ending is because the canvas is doomed either way. One is just delayed for a while but who knows how long.
