What I've picked up so far is that summoners are the vessels of the eikons, called Dominants with the MC being specifically Phoenix's Dominant and his role is to protect Ifrit's Dominant, Joshua (which obviously doesn't go well) since he can't actually control Ifrit. At some point he basically gains the ability to become the Dominant of other Eikons like Garuda and Titan alongside Phoenix similar to Devil Arms in DMC. Whether this is something everybody can do or is special to him I dunno.

Given his Joshua Shield they probably grew up together and are very close even if they're not blood related

I like to think Joshua is going to be the antagonist somehow

He doesn't have a name but did call himself Joshua's Shield

I have heard it around that he is Caleb but I'm not sure where that's coming from

It's a neat idea that Joshua is Ifrit's Dominant, but I think he's the Dominant for both Ifrit and Phoenix

They definitely say he is Phoenix but I think he might be both

It also seems like another case of being able to summon is not a good thing which seems to be common with more recent FFs.

And the title art is efreet versus Phoenix

So it might be that Joshua had the power of both but could only control Phoenix, but when that person died in front of him he lost himself and summoned Ifrit instead

Now the only issue is that the flaming body that summoned it looked way older than Joshua

And Phoenix possibly went to Shield instead

I feel like Shield is only using the summon powers

As in just the wings, claws and fists

Don't think he can fully summon them

I am curious who the villain in this game is gonna be

I dont think Joshua the person is the villain

But if he is Ifrit

Ifrit back at it again in an antagonistic role.

I mean all of them might be antagonists aside from Phoneix

I am digging this so far

I actually find the Witcher franchise beyond overhyped

I enjoy those games but I don't get all the fuss
