But you draw the line at bloodlines

I see Dairy, I see lmao.

ancestry as a concept is cringe bro
(the thing you see in mulan is real, us chinese people have ancestors in a random limbo stone temple thing that send dragons to whip our ass when we misbehave)

Idk for me, the ancestry thing feels like it's justifying why certain characters have keyblades instead of it being like anyone can learn it

Like for Axel/Lea, if they make one of these characters related to him and retcon that he's always had keyblade ancestry, idk if it's just me but I feel like it would take away from him gaining one without being connected to it in history.

arent keyblades technically wielded by any1 worthy enough?

assuming your a decent person trying to be good

It's weird, because on the one hand it makes some sense (given that bloodlines are a thing here) and makes it seem a little less "random" than how it happened. On the other hand, it plays into the whole "every main character just so happens to have this very specific ancestry that ensures they were always going to be plot relevant" trope

Well, let me take a step back here. The only characters that we don't see the origin of how they obtained the keyblade is Terra, Aqua, and Axel

terra and aqua are already pre-established to be wielders at the start of bbs and I don't think that we know of anything earlier about them, unless the novels have something.

I'm fully committed to the idea that one day it just showed up for Lea when he came back in 3D lol

My headcanon is that Axel's connection through Roxas is what allowed him to wield the keyblade

That's probably what it is realistically, he did come into contact with Ventus, as well
