Ven's heart is inside Sora. When Sora released his heart, he accidently released Ven's heart, from which came Roxas. Duh. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that another thread has already been created on this topic

I was really surprised to see this thread. I thought this question was over with, but I'll be happy to do my best to help even though this has already been answered. My response is in spoilers due to the fact that there are some people who have not seen the secret ending of BBS yet.

 

 

Alright. First things first. The main reason why Roxas looks like Ventus is because of something so simple, Roxas (at the time of his existence, as he is back within Sora at this present time) carried Ventus' heart inside him. This happened because earlier in the game, Ventus and Sora developed a connection, because Ventus took in Sora's heart for a time. After Vanitas and Ventus fought, Ventus' heart drifted and ended up in front of Sora, who willingly let Ventus' heart rest inside him. When Sora released Kairi's heart, and turned into a Heartless, Ventus' heart remained in Sora's body (or it could have drifted out and then entered again, but I'm putting my money on it staying inside Sora's body.) which of course became Roxas, the Nobody of Sora. Originally Roxas should have looked similar, if not the exact same way, as Sora. However, due to there being no heart other than Ventus' to affect Sora's Nobody, Roxas took on the appearance of Ventus.

Well, allow me to tell you the whole story on why Roxas looks like Ventus:

 

Well, you see after Ventus defeated Vanitas in the final battle inside their forged heart, Ventus's heart was damaged once again in the process of defeating both the X-Blade and Vanitas since they are both a part of him. Soon after the final fught, Ventus's heart went inside Sora's body in order for his heart to be repaired like the first time he did when his heart got extracted by Xehanort's keyblade.

Then, when Sora stabbed the keyblade that Ansem-Riku was using, it not only released Kairi's heart, but Ventus's heart as well, but Ven's heart took shelter withing Roxas, thus the reason why Roxas looks like Ventus.

Well, the reason because this person asked this question the other way is most likely due to the fact that you see Roxas first, so generally if you don't know that BBS takes place first chronologically, then you might ask the other way around. But that's just how I interpreted it.

the princesses of heart have hearts of pure light so they dont need darkness to live but ven lost his darkness so he borrowed some of sora's.

Now this is the story about how

Ven's life got flipped, turned upside down

and I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there

I' ll tell you how Ventus' heart became part of a boy name Sora

 

In west Land of Depature born and raised is where Ventus would spend most of his days

Hanging out, training all cool, sparring with Terra outside of the school

When Master Xehanort, who was up to no good, starting planting ideas into Terra's Head

Ventus talked to some guy and got all scared and said "I'm going off to warn Terra"

 

Along the way he had to face Vanitas' leers

But as time went on, the truth became clearer

Master Xehanort was an evil bastard and made the pair

To bring about the X-Blade and make a vessel out of Terra

 

They all showed up at the graveyard at about seven or eight

and Ventus yelled to the Vanitas "Yo homes, I'm going to absorb you and become a martyr"

Ventus' heart floated around,

And finally found a light,

Now sleeps on a throne, with his heart safe in Sora.
