Pixel style is cute and all but i want to see something more fresh

Just do a DQ11 and have both lol

turn-based game with the crazy spectacle of XVI cutscenes

like holy shit the eikon fights

especially the

bahamut

fight

absolute kino

Rebirth, KH4 and FF9 Remake are gonna be firetrucking amazing

Going to be interesting to see what ff9 remake will do

Is it gonna take a que from ff7r, do something else or turn based

ff9 is the biggest ?

there's a big conspiracy theory that sakaguchi might come back for 9 Remake

here's why

In the past few years SE has brought back a lot of the old people in other projects. Sakaguchi randomly starts with XIV, Sakaguchi randomly appears in pictures with Yoshi P or Kitase...

and his entire twitter account is basically a FFXIV stan account now

Mistwalker could technically work on a FF9 Remake

it just feels so random that he starts FFXIV

and then suddenly chills together with other SE staff

would be nice to not stick only with remakes :/

now that I've got the hang of final fantasy and turned based games strategy I should try all the FFs

first time I tried FF about 15 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing 😂

I recommend all of them. Even the ones that are considered "bad" by the fandom

I am still waiting for a XIII trilogy remaster

I love the XIII games

why tf is almost no one petting the dog?

that number is great btw

at least 37% of all players made it to this part of the game

in comparison

only 30.9% of all players completed chapter 2 in judgment

the game is great btw

I only pet him 5 times after seeing the trophy xD once was enough to see what happens 😂

Thoughts on the

Ultima

plot ?

Im super conflicted about it. Some of the setup to the story are great but then

Odin and Ultima

enters the game and I'm just like mega confused

Ultima tells Barnabas to break Clive's will and proceeds to just make his will stronger??? What about killing his loved ones the people that he's attached to

??

Instead he shows up

slashes vertically instead of horizontally which would have just killed every if that's what he wanted

, talks a bit about being a fanatic and goes away

😭

Im excited to play it once Im done with Hogwarts Legacy, looks so good

Heard nothing but great things.

the

Titan Lost

tracks are most definitely the "this one's for yall, ff14 fans" songs lol

i don't even play 14 but i could immediately recognize the style bc of Theatrhythm

So I finished the main game

Story is 10/10
Gameplay/fights 10/10
Music🎶 100 outa firetruckin 100
SOKEN BROUGHT HIS SOUL TO THIS GAME

Eikon fights are some of the HYPEST BOSSES and I love them. ESPECIALLY FIGHTING

BAHAMUT IN MF SPACE!!!!!

And

Titan lost

which was E4s on steroids.

The areas were nice and beautiful with this great lighting.

The issue that I had with bosses from demo were gone

Side quests built up towards the end making them worth.
Of course some were pretty bad.

This game was the team having fun with everything

Man tho what an ending 👏

This is FINAL FANTASY :crystal:

How do you guys feel about the plot threads which they intentionally left open? The ending reminds me a lot of FF7 tbh

FF7 og never finished the entire plot around the environmental part. They never gave a solution to the problem. XVI does the same with the blight and slavery part

I honestly think it was great. The fact that a human with the power of the gods can't alone fix something like climate change/blight or societal issues like the slavery part

Clive only created the foundation at the end of the game. He gave them a second chance.

And I believe it could also upset some people if they would have added an easy solution. "Hey you only need a human with god powers to end slavery and climate change"

the climate change part doesn't work for me as much. The blight sounded like this otherworldly thing that even gods (Ultima) couldn't fix so what exactly did humanity do to fix it? The crystals aren't why the blight became a thing, it was inevitable.

Unless i misunderstood that part

correct. the overuse of magic was the reason that drained the ether

clive erasing magic effectively stopped the blight from growing but didn't entirely fix the issue

at the start of the game

there's a scene in cid's hideaway where a npc basically says that the land can be restored but it takes societal effort

they were able to grow fruit and crops in the deadlands. I like about the ending that Clive even with god powers can't change the status quo alone

and the post credits scene proved his statement that humanity can change if they work together

it's in a certain way similar to og ff7. og ff7 never shows how the world deals with the aftermath. oh wait it does... in the movie where they replace mako with fossil fuels 💀

the only thing I wish they added is more regarding the fates of the characters. It's very likely that both Clive and Joshua survived due to the book and also Jill + the meaning of the moongazing song. Dion is the only one where people are unsure if he survived. Game should have ended with Clive, Joshua and Dion starting to change the status quo. Dion is the ruler of the biggest country in Valisthea. Him declaring to change the status quo would have been an absolute power move

og ff7 shows humanity either died or left Midgard to go somewhere else to not rely on Mako.

all Joshua and Clive living goes against what they showed in the ending. With the Mitia light vanishing, Gav and Jill crying and then sun rising to show that despite the flame brothers dying, the sun still rises

i still find Joshua writing the book to be dumb. Would have fit the old man archive more than him.

Meteion

is still queen btw

She did the "we are a hivemind" part the best

Endwalker smoked both XVI and XC3 regarding this

As much as I enjoyed this story, i gotta say i didn't enjoy the characters much other than Clive and somewhat Cid

I sadly didn't find any of them enjoyable. Found them all to have life sucked out of them and not in a good way. Especially Jill who i felt was mostly just there to go with Clive wherever he went and only had one moment where she felt like an actual character.

With the ending

i didn't even feel sad for Clive's death. It just felt like a thing that happened. Compared to the last main FF title with a much worse story, Noctis's last speech with the bros hit me like a firetrucking truck and i sadly just did not get that here

Although i know why in that regard. The characters here didn't really interact with each other unless it was about the plot. Every time they talked it was just about the plot and nothing more. Some side quests towards the end did give some of them more character but that's the kind of stuff i wish they actually put in the main story instead of the other more tedious shit they put there.

Using FF7R as an example, you got plenty of character moments just between them whenever they do anything. Barret talks shit to you constantly while walking around but also gives some good insight into his character. I sadly never got that with anyone here.

Whenever you are with a character around they are dead quiet and maybe say some words every now and then but it's just a quick comment about the situation.

I gotta add Benedicta as one i really enjoyed, she had so much spunk

i wish she stayed around more
