So I was watching the 3D trailer again (Why not?) and I just noticed that at the end when it shows Xehanort's Heartless and Xemnas, they're actually superimposed over one another. Yen-Sid mentioned the Mark of Mastery exam, so I'm kind of assuming that XH/Xemnas are the final tests. But if they're on top of one another, are they actually the same thing appearing differently to Sora and Riku?

Yeah I thought they were facing the same direction. Them being the bosses for the game actually sounds like a pretty good idea. Their darkest fears are a possibility, but what has Xemnas really ever done to Sora? I think it's more probable that fighting the two parts of Xehanort apart, will prepare the two to fight Xehanort himself together.

yeah tha could be true but xemnas being the founder of organization XIII could have through saix and others hurt sora by bringing up personal things right?

tutti frutti. I can see Yen-Sid having XH and Xemnas as Riku and Sora's final test respectively. Overall you could say that they each finished off the respective boss. But overall it would be good to get some information out of KH3D while taking the exam, even though they are with bosses we are familiar with. Hopefully it will have more highlights that coded, but that's just my opinion. I'm looking forward to exploring the world for the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

I can't really tell which way they're facing when I see it. (It looks like the front to me, but my vision's not the best, either.) But either way, the fact that they're both there when Sora/Riku looks at them is confusing. Maybe it's like (not IS, but is LIKE) the dolls used to make the Riku Replica and Xion. Riku sees Xehanort's Heartless (his darkness), and Sora sees Xemnas.

You also have to consider that Roxas is part of Sora again, and Xemnas WAS Roxas' superior and overall manipulator. Maybe we'll see some Roxas in 3D...

 

EDIT: Just saw it again. I freakin' SWEAR they're facing the same direction!

Honestly, i really don't think they will be the final part of the Exam. i think at some point will will just fight them as bosses depending on what character we have. But this is just my opinion though.

I think it would be cool to fight both of them at once.

Not quite sure what role they'll have, all I know for sure is that it has something to do with Master Xehanort's return, and that Xehanort's Heartless and Xemnas are primary foes to Riku and Sora, respectively.

It's exactly what you think. They are in the same exact spot, facing the same direction.

How can you not see the back of Ansem's head? It's so obvious that the spikes are pointing towards each other. How am I the only one seeing that?

 

And how do we know it's to show the switch? It could just be for effect.

Alright, I see what Terranort's talking about. It just took a side-to-side for me to see it. But either way, the fact is still that they're both there at the same time. If it were a simple substitution between characters, they wouldn't need to have XH and Xemnas there together.

I think that it might be more along the lines that Xehanort interferes with the exam. That or it has to do with finding Terra's heart. That may actually be a side intention of the exam, because they specifically mention that they're still looking for Terra's...
