Since the Kingdom Hearts series begun in 2002, starting with a PlayStation 2 game made by Square Enix in collaboration with Disney, the series has expanded to not only multiple platforms of video games, but also other areas such as music soundtracks, manga, novels and figurines. One area however that hasn't been explored is the idea of a Kingdom Hearts movie. So, we'd like to ask people to contribute. Would you want a Kingdom Hearts movie? You should burn that screenplay if you are being serious. That is no where near what ANY kingdom hearts fan would want to see. I think they would want to see a movie that reflected the game well but that was just the worst thing in the world. Ive disagreed with a lot of posts on this site but none of them have actually made me mad before this one.

I have written a screenplay for a film adaptation of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep which has yet to be submitted to The Walt Disney Company. Hoping to satisfy fans of the nostolgic Disney era (Hanna Montana, Jonas brothers and Sonny With a Chance "haters"), I plan to make the film the way Walt Disney would do it: by filming it in true CinemaScope and old fashioned film equipment combing Live-action and traditional cell animation with the KH characters computer animated courtesy of Square Pictures.

 

It's set in the real world, circa 1885 with a few historical references and takes places 47 years before KH1, in which Sora, Riku and Kairi (from my interpritation) are the offspring of Terra, Aqua and Ventus. It also features two new villains who play foil character to Terra and Aqua alongside Master Xehanort and Vanitas (who play foil characters to Master Eraqus and Ventus), Tyler and Stylette Rastar (Named from the production company Rastar).

 

I have also given the characters last names as a reference to their name-meaning, Terra Eraqus (I decided to make Master Terre Eraqus his father), Ventus Wind (his Latin name), Aqua Wata (similar to "Water"), Master Xehanort Anather Nohart (reference to "Another" and "No Heart") and Vanitas is Ventus' half-brother (hence the joke of them being related and split apart).

 

I am thinking of conveying the maturity to that of Final Fantasy's dispite being a Disney movie (slight sexual references, profanity and above all, mild violence). And for all you fans who love the game's couples (i.e. SoraxKairi), I intend to include REAL romance such as kissing and "I love you's".

 

I also intend to replace the original worlds with real world locations that shared a connection with Walt Disney and also based on their function or appearence: Harvard University (Land of Departure), the Grand Canyon (Keyblade Graveyard), Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Radient Garden), Neuschwanstein Castle (Hollow Bastion), Chicago, Illinois (Disney Town, Walt was was born there) and Destiny Islands (Florida Key West). The Disney worlds will be displayed as sheets of animation paper with a backround, every single character from what film will be featured voiced by their current voice actors and archive audio of their originals with the old and new soundtrack score.

 

If that weren't enough, I also strengthed the importance of Family in the KH universe, meaning that we get to see the characters parents with names as well as new characters. I, however decided to have Master Xehanort portrayed as Master Eraqus' father and Terra's grandfather as to show why he chose him from my point of view.

 

Don't worry about TAV's Keyblade Armor, I've reinserted the capes as well as a new way of summoning the armor by having the metallic parts covering their bodies from head to toe like and exo-suit (ala the automations from the Syberia trilogy) rather than a flash of light as seen in the game as i felt it to be physically impossible.

 

For the dialogue, I have combined both the original Japanese and offical English translations for the sake of an alliance between the two countries.

Terra Eraqus - Zac Efron - Charlie Tahan (young) (I feel Jason Dohring to be too old for the role of a 19 year old)

Ventus Wind - Jesse McCartney - Timothy McCartney (young) (I would've had Timothy play the main age, but wouldn't be the same)

Master Xehanort - William Shanter (due to Leonard Nimoy's retirement)

Vanitas Wind - Haley Joel Osment (I think of him as like Edward Hyde or Buddy Love)

Penne Pastal - Hilary Duff (White equivilent of Gone With the Wind's Mammy i specificly created for this film)

dont mean to be rude but that will just kill and defeat the whole purpose of a KH movie

 

My interpritation of Kingdom Hearts is what fans want to see, like Aqua falling in love with Ven. I plan to make KH 358/2 Days a love story out of Roxas and Xion's relationship, the plot will still be the same but with a few romance themes.

 

With all due respect, I doubt that fans of KH want to see a fanfiction translated to the big screen, instead of the game and story itself.

 

Your comment, actually, hits the nail on the head as to why I don't want a KH movie. The people making it will probably change up a LOT of things to make it appeal to a larger audience, and as a result, please no one.

 

The plot will be the same just some minor tweaks, like making Ventus' story more tragic in a "Little Orphan Annie" cliche by hoping to find his long-lost parents (ala Lewis wanting to find his mother in another Disney film "Meet the Robinsons", this time Ventus is reunited with them).

 

Did I mention that I intend to give some of the minor characters from the Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck universes a chance to shine in a small supporting role?

P.S. For KH1, Maleficent will be aided by all the Disney Villains from the animated features canon including those not featured in the game like, Gaston, Cruella, Narissa, etc, el infinite. In KH2, she and Pete will be aided by the villains of the Mickey and Donald universes like The Beagle Boys, the Phantom Blot, Magicia De Spell, Madam Mim (she made frequent appearences in the Donald Duck comics) and Witch Hazel from 1952's Trick or Treat.

 

wow Mickey is a MAJOR part of KH. You cant just change it around like that. Might as well call it a original rather than a movie version of the game. If people who would like to play Kh saw this, they would be like "What is this?" If i saw this i would be like "Is this a KH movie?" Changing up like that puts no purpose in a movie what soever. Might as well say that Keyblades are really just giant house keys

If we wait a few years my sister has an idea on how to make a KH movie the right way. She is going to a collage program for movie making next year. And she and I are going over the games so she can make it as accurately as possible.

A Kingdom Hearts Movie would be cool. I saw Advent Children, and was astonished by the awesome animation. No live action, but a movie would be great.

Possibly an anime series. That would be nice!

 

I am more onto yes side, It would be cool to make one [since the only time though out the entire game there is CG is at the intro and end, and I would get excited about seeing more of it]

But this completley destroys what Nomura has created. Plus if you were to have SoraxKairi would that be incest since TAV would give birth to them in your story "ewww". You can't just make a story one up in the blue with none of the real story of the games in it, and slap the KH name on it.

tutti frutti. I wouldn't mind seeing a movie, so long as it was in CGI or anime. To me when it comes to movies based off of video games and anime, I find live action versions of those to be a big dissappointing, similar to how DBZ Evolution was a bad movie to the anime series. (That's just my opinion) But overall, I can see something like a Kingdom Hearts movie being possible.

Almost everything you just said there made it impossible to stay loyal to the events of BBS.

It would be really cool if the Kingdom Hearts series would be portrayed into a movie. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! I want it to be shown in the manner of how FF Advent Children was shown. How about focusing the movie more on the life and adventure of the protagonists and just a short walkthrough of each world -- the only problem is that people wouldn't really understand the story of how the protagonist/s (e.g Sora) traveled in each world.. Yea. She's thinking of doing it in parts cuz like you said it wouldn't all fit in one movie. And She's thinking of cuting the trips to the other worlds to one trip per world. Except for the main worlds like Destiny Islands, Twilight Town Etc... So like in KH2 you would go to a world twice, the first time to help the characters and the second time to defeat an org member. Instead she going to figure out a way to cut it to one visit per world.

i agree to what some others have said that a animated movie would be better Live action ones always FAIL!!! plus live action ones are almost always cheesy+ lame:P

Well they should make a movie, because the final fantasy seven has its own movie, and there are som ff7 characters in the kh series, I like that the animation like the ff7 because it is cool!. the movie should be adventure, action, comedy, yeah, there should be one y'know. so it can be cooler!!!

i think it should be done in CGI like advent children and should have a title reflecting on both sora and xehanort's names as well as refering to the balance between light and darkness.

 

the story should be about an older sora (18 years old) who is finding things difficult to deal with after all that's happened to him and his friends including trying to finally confess his love for kairi including kairi doing the same with sora also.

As much as I would love a Kingdom Hearts movie, I don't see it happening. They made 2 Final Fantasy movies but I don't know if they would do the same with the Kingdom Hearts seires. But, I must admit it would be cool to see Sora traveling to Disney worlds fighting Heartless.

You should start with the cartoon (anime version) and if that is really good make one with live people

I said yes, but If it was with real people it would suck. It needs to be computer and same vocies.

I would say have all of the important turning points in the movie. Like if there was a movie for Kingdom Hearts 2, it'd have only the parts with the Organization in it. Like The Land Of Dragons, it'd only be the second visit. They spot Riku going up the mountain followed by Mulan and Mushu running into them, causing them to regognise Mushu and continue on from there to meet Xigbar and cutting out the dragon. Or for Kingdom Hearts 1, leave out a few worlds like Olympus Colliseum and hint on it later and cut down a lot of time from the other worlds like Atlantica and Wonderland. It'd be kinda difficult but interesting to see.
