Chapter One: A deadly darkness approaches

Kain and Riku storm through the castle as they defeat Heartless after Heartless. They rush to retrieve the artifact before it falls to the hands of their foes. As they keep ascending the floors of the castle, they come upon a knight fighting to stay alive.
Kain: Cecil! We shall aid you!
Cecil: No, stand back. It's a trap!
Riku: Damn, wha-, what are these things!?
Kain: Such strange creatures. I can't move!
Suddenly, a hooded man appears before them coming from a dark portal.
Mysterious Figure: Well, well, well. What do we have here? I expect to find poor resistance and yet I find three formidable warriors. Hmph, at least you three will suit as my puppets, commandering my creatures, the Unborn.
Cecil: The Unborn!?
Mysterious Figure: Yes, Unborn are creatures born out of the purest of twisted souls. These beings can destroy Heartless in the blink of an eye. Hahaha, prepare to be enslaved.
All of a sudden, one of the Unborn falls instantly dead on the ground. The rest of the Unborn look around to see what is happening. Then, a quick flash of darkness kills twenty more.
Kain: What was that!?
Cecil: Whatever it was, it freed us. Let's finish them all off!
Riku: Dark Firaga!
Kain: Sky Rave!
Cecil: Paladin Force!
Mysterious Figure: NO! It cannot be!!!
One by the one, the Unborn fall by the hands of the warriors. But more keep coming as each one falls.
Voice:Let me handle this!
Riku: Huh!? Who is that!?
Then, out of thin air, another hooded man appears with dark aura eminating from him.
Hooded Man: Dark Reaper!
The hooded man is so fast that Riku, Kain and Cecil can barely see him.
Hooded Man: Go, you must get the artifact.
Heeding his words, the warriors rush to retrieve the artifact.
Mysterious Figure: It can't be! I saw you die before my very eyes! How are you alive, Dexeres!?
Dexeres: You look so surprised. The look on your face is priceless. Let's settle this. Now tell me, why is this happening? You must have broken the balance between the worlds!
Mysterious Figure: Hmph. How right you are. The worlds's chains have been broken, and now my army of darkness shall destroy everything until I obtain Kingdom Hearts!
Dexeres: No! I will stop you!
Meanwhile, Riku, Kain and Cecil finally obtain the powerfull artifact.
Kain: Wait, I sense something.
Then, in the blink of an eye, a giant Unborn appears before them, blocking their exit.
Cecil: We must defeat this creature.
Riku: Right!
The new threat has emerged, the three warriors have finally retrieved the artifact, and the mysterious figure confronts Dexeres. What will happen next? Stay tuned for Chapter Two: Escape from Baron...

Chapter 30: Vanitas and Ventus, Into the Shattered Realm

 

The Shadow Seeker urges Ventus and the others to go in the portal before Xylek and the others return. At first they hesitate, but then they do as they’re told and they go through the portal.  Suddenly, they appear in what seems to be an alleyway.  They look around to see if they can find the mysterious warrior that opened the portal for them.

Trish: I wonder where we are?  This doesn’t look like a world that’s tainted by darkness.

Lunar: Hmmm, it looks like this might be some sort of town.

Ventus: You’re right.  Hmm, it feels so peaceful.

Kyle: I wonder if this is the world  where the person that saved us lives in?

Then, they suddenly hear a whisper, as if someone is calling out to them.  When they turn around, they see the Shadow Seeker, beckoning them to enter through the gate at the end of the alleyway.  When they go in, they see the Shadow Seeker alongside Xion.  Ventus and Trish quickly summon their Keyblades and Lunar growls at Xion.

Ventus: You!  What are you doing here? 

Shadow Seeker: Wait, don’t attack her.  Give us a chance to explain.

Ventus: Why should we trust you?

Kyle: Wait Ven, let them talk, let’s hear them out first.

Ventus and the others calm down and they sit down on the sofas that are in this small little space.

Shadow Seeker: All right then.  Welcome to the Usual Spot, this is a secluded place that’s perfect for us to hide in.  We are currently in Twilight Town, do not worry, you can be able to rest here.  For now, there are no dangers here.

Ventus: Tell us, why did you save us?

Shadow Seeker: Because I’m on your side, although you may not believe it.  I prefer to work silently and alone, so that no one knows of my existence.

Kyle: But why don’t you want anyone to know who you are?  I’m sure that if you went to Sora and King Mickey, they would gladly welcome you and ask you to join us.

Shadow Seeker: No.  It’s best that I remain this way.  This is the only way I can be of help to you, by moving through the shadows.

Trish: I see.  Tell us, why is Xion with you?

Shadow Seeker: She was under a trance, the same one that Kyle had fallen in.  I had found her a long time back, but I decided to linger around the castle of our enemies, so that I could find out more about their motives and plans.  When I saw that things were getting a bit too complicated, I rescued her and freed Xylek’s hold on her.  Don’t worry, she’s one of us.

Xion stands up and kneels down before Ventus and the others.

Xion: Please forgive me.  I wasn’t myself, I was controlled by the powers of darkness, and I wasn’t able to fight back.  I didn’t mean to hurt anybody, I’m so sorry.  Please forgive me.  I’ll find some way to make it up to you all.

Lunar: Hmm, this girl’s words sound sincere and true. I believe we can trust her.

Xion: Thank you.  Now then, the Shadow Seeker and I have important information to tell you.

Trish: What is it?

Xion: As you already know, The Four Spirits have been awakened, and The Master is planning to make them destroy all the worlds in existence one by one until they reach Kingdom Hearts.  And also, they have begun massive preparations.  They are summoning an army more powerful than any that has roamed the worlds.

Ventus: An army!?

Xion: Yes, an army of Unborn and of Heartless.  They are combining the powers of these creatures so they can create a  powerful enough army to subdue everyone.  We are greatly outnumbered.

Kyle: Isn’t there a way that we can at least stop this army from assembling?

Xion: Yes.  The Shadow Seeker and I recently discovered The Shattered Realm, it’s the place where Maleficent and Pete are hiding in, with their Heartless.  So if you go there, we might have a chance at turning the tide of the war in our favor.

Ventus: I see…then I’ll go.

Trish: What?  All by yourself?  But why?

Ventus: I have to do this on my own.  I can’t risk putting your lives in danger.  Besides, Vanitas will be with me, so there’s nothing to worry about.

Vanitas then reappears before them.

Vanitas: Yeah, I’ll have his back, don’t worry about it.

Trish: But…

Shadow Seeker: No, it’s better this way.  Besides, we are needed as well.  We can’t all go, otherwise we’ll overlook the other worlds that are being attacked by our enemies.  Ventus, Vanitas, if there’s any trouble, let me know, and I’ll assist you.

Vanitas: Whatever.  Well, I’m going to open the portal.

Vanitas opens the portal and Ventus goes towards Trish and Lunar and Kyle and hugs them.

Ventus: Kyle, please take care of Trish for me.  I might be gone for a while.

Kyle: Okay, I won’t let you down!

Ventus: Lunar, make sure they don’t get in harm’s way.

Lunar: You can count on me.

Ventus: Trish, be safe.  I love you.

Trish: I love you too Ventus!

Ventus and Trish passionately kiss, and then he slowly makes his way to the portal.

Vanitas: All right loverboy, let’s get this over with.

Ventus: Shadow Seeker, Xion, thanks for everything.

He nods and they disappear and travel to the Shattered Realm.

Meanwhile, back in Halloween Town, Sora and the gang are in Dr. Finkelstein’s lab, with an unconscious Oogie Boogie on the experimenting table, and they ponder on what course of action to take.  They are still shocked that Lock, Shock and Barrel saved them, but they appreciate them for the rescue nonetheless.

Sora: So guys, what should we do now?

Jack Skellington: Well, seeing as how things are turning out, I think it’s better if you go and help your friends.  We’ll handle things here.

Riku: Are you sure?

Sally: Yes, we shall take care of everything.  We’ll do our part to make sure that nothing bad happens.

Lock: And we’ll keep protecting Halloween Town!

Shock: You can count on it!

Barrel: The bad guys won’t have any mercy from us!

Dr. Finkelstein: He He He, it’ll be all right.  Besides, thanks to you now I can experiment on Oogie, and find out what is in his wondrous demented mind.

And almost instantly, all of them burst into laughter.  Then they say farewell to their Halloween Town friends and prepare to leave.

Dexeres:  All right, let’s go back to Disney Castle.  The King will surely need our help.

Riku: Right.  But we have to be cautious.  Our enemies might be anywhere now, so we have to double our efforts to turn the tide of war.

Goofy: Gawrsh, all this fighting is sure hard work.

Donald: Well, that’s part of our responsibility, to protect the things that matter!

In that instant, Riku smiles and thinks to himself: “Protect the things that matter…hmph.  He read my mind.”  And so Dexeres opens a portal to Disney Castle, and one by one they go through the portal.  Riku is the last to go through, and he suddenly hears a voice calling out to him. The voice of a young woman.

Young Woman: You are noble and kindhearted…and yet you have suffered so much.

Riku: What?  Who’s there?

Young Woman: Go now…your friends are waiting for you.

Riku desperately looks around to see if he can find the source of the voice, but he doesn’t see anyone.  He looks back once more, and then steps through the portal towards Disney Castle.

In the meantime, Vanitas and Ventus arrive in the Shattered Realm.  Ventus is awe struck by the strange shape the world has, while Vanitas could simply care less.  They walk through a transparent path and they see crystal shards floating above them, and mist and darkness seeping through the very air around them.  Ventus wonders how can someone even think of living in this world.

Vanitas: Hmph, this place sure looks comfy enough.  Well, at least for me.  I’m not so sure about you.

Ventus: Vanitas, don’t you feel a strange energy around here?  It’s not of darkness or of light.  It’s just a strange energy that I can’t describe.

Vanitas: Oh, you mean the dark light.

Ventus: Huh?  I don’t understand.

Vanitas: Okay, do you remember that time when Kyle was so desperate that he morphed with Lunar to transform into his Feral form?

Ventus: Oh yeah, I do remember that.  What about it?  Wait…you don’t mean to say that this is the place where the power of the dark light comes from, do you?

Vanitas: Bingo!  Huh, it looks like I underestimated you kid, you’re not as brainless as I thought  you would be. Anyways, that little friend of yours Kyle might have gotten his power of the dark light here.  Either he came here of his own free will or he was somehow born with it the power.

Ventus: Hmm, I should ask Kyle about that when we go back.

Vanitas: Yeah, then I can fight him.  I want to test the twerp’s strength.

Vanitas smirks and Ventus simply rolls his eyes and keeps walking on the strange transparent path until they see a strange looking castle in the distance.  A well mounted castle teeming with the power of darkness.

Vanitas: We’ve got company.

Ventus: Right!

And almost immediately, Vanitas and Ventus summon their Keyblades and they keep a sharp eye on their surroundings.  They stay put and suddenly Maleficent and Pete appear before them. 

Maleficent: Well, well, well, it seems we’ve found ourselves two little stray souls, haven’t we?

Pete: Ha Ha Ha, looks like we’ve got some fresh meat on our hands eh Maleficent?

Maleficent: Hmph, but I have no time to waste on these fools.

Vanitas: Stupid old hag, let’s just get this over with and fight already!

Maleficent: How dare you!  You insolent brat!

Pete: Sheesh, this guy’s a rude nut.  And to think he was once on our side.

Maleficent: These imbeciles are clearly brainless to come here to us, knowing that they will lose.

Ventus: We won’t lose, because we’re not going to give up!

Pete: Aww, how touching.  The little pipsqueak wants to play the hero!

Maleficent: What an amusing sentiment it is indeed.  Hmph, but as I said, I have no time to waste on pathetic fools such as these.

Vanitas: Cut the chit chat and fight already before you make me mad you old hag!

Maleficent: Hmph, if a fight is what you crave, then a fight is what you shall get!

Suddenly, Maleficent uses her dark powers to summon the Xehanort Guardian and Master Eraqus.  They appear before Ventus and Vanitas, ready for battle.

Maleficent: Farewell impudent fools.

Pete: He He He, so long chumps!

They disappear and leave Vanitas and Ventus to fight against the Xehanort Guardian and Master Eraqus.  Ventus suddenly freezes in shock, and for a moment his mind goes blank.  He has to face Eraqus, and knowing that Xehanort is also present makes him even more shocked.

Vanitas: Oh come on, don’t freeze up on me now!  We’re in this together!

Ventus: But, I can’t hurt Master Eraqus…

Vanitas: We’re not going to hurt him you idiot!  We’re going to drive them off!  Although I’ll gladly kill the Xehanort Guardian.

Ventus: O-okay!

 

 

And now, Ventus and Vanitas must battle The Xehanort Guardian and Master Eraqus.  Will they survive?  Prepare for a thrilling battle in Chapter 31:  Light and Darkness, Two Powers Intertwined…

Hey everyone, here’s Chapter 31, I hope that you all enjoy it.  Remember to comment when you finish reading it!  Anyways, without further ado, here’s the chapter!

 

Chapter 31: Light and Darkness, Two Powers Intertwined

 

(Start Song Here)

Master Eraqus swings his Keyblade skyward, and he summons five pillars of light that surround him, and the Guardian Xehanort starts charging his powers of darkness.  Ventus and Vanitas immediately dash towards them to  prevent them from doing an attack that could probably wipe them all out.  As if by instinct, Ventus and Vanitas move gracefully through the attacks that the Guardian Xehanort is throwing at them. They deflect some of the attacks, but to no effect, and Ventus and Vanitas decide to take their distance and attack with magic.

Ventus: They’re more powerful than last time!

Vanitas: Gee, did you notice that just now?  You’re definitely a genius.

Ventus: Cut it out Vanitas, I’m serious!

Vanitas: Okay, okay.  Sheesh, I’m just trying to lighten up the mood, but all right, let’s take your approach Mr. Grim and Menacing…

Ventus: Look out!

Ventus pushes Vanitas out of a wide beam of light, and Ventus barely dodges it.  Afterwards, he and Vanitas counterattack with powerful Aeroga and Blizzaga spells.

Vanitas: It looks like we’re going to have to come up with a better way to beat them up!

Ventus: Right!  Both of them are hard to beat, so it’s fair to say that we have to deal with them with more than just brute force.

Vanitas: Okay.

Ventus shoots Firaga spears, while Vanitas strikes his Keyblade at one of Eraqus’s pillars of light, making it disappear.

Vanitas: Look!  My Keyblade made one of the light pillars disappear! 

Ventus: You’re right!  Keep going at it Vanitas, I’ll take care of Guardian Xehanort!

Vanitas nods and he jumps up and cloaks himself in a black sphere, and in just seconds, multiple copies of Vanitas come forth from the sphere and shatter each of Eraqus’s light pillars.  Then, Guardian Xehanort lashes towards Ventus, and he grips Ventus tightly in his clawed hands.  Ventus struggles and squirms, and then he wrings himself out of his hands and strikes at him.  The Guardian Xehanort shrieks in pain and then counterattacks with a devastating dark mist.  Ventus blows away the mist with his Keyblade and attacks Guardian Xehanort  with Ars Arcanum.

Ventus: Vanitas, how are you holding up?

Vanitas dodges Eraqus’s attacks and lands by Ventus’s side.

Vanitas: Hmm, not that bad, and you?

Ventus: I’m holding my own.  As long as you and me stick together, we can win this!

Vanitas: Right!

They both dodge the attacks of their foes and they jump high in the air and perform a devastating Delta X attack, and the surrounding area shines with bright blinding light.

Meanwhile, Sora and the gang arrive at Disney castle, and they head towards the Throne Room, when they see Cid’s airship looming high above them.

Sora: Whoah, what is that!?

Dexeres: I think that Cid and the others must have finished building the airship.  It does look magnificent if I do say so myself.

Donald: It’s bigger than the Gummi Ship!

Goofy: A-hyuck, you got that right Donald!

Everyone is dazzled by the sheer size of the airship, but Riku is in a corner of the courtyard, deep in thought.  He can’t stop thinking about the voice he heard as he left Halloween Town.

Riku: That voice…who could it have been?  And why did my heart feel tight when I heard her?  I’m sure that I’ve never met her, whoever she is…but I can’t shake this feeling…my heart is yearning for her…

Sora: Hey Riku, what’s wrong?

Riku: Oh…it’s nothing Sora, I’m just a bit tired, that’s all.  I just need to rest.

Sora: Hmm, I think something’s wrong with you.  Riku, I’m your best friend, do you really expect me to believe that nothing’s wrong with you?  You know you can tell me.

Riku: …I don’t want to talk about it right now…I need to sort this out by myself first…

Sora: Okay, if you say so, but if you need me, just let me know.

Riku: Of course.

They go towards the Throne room and King Mickey waves at them from the library.

King Mickey: Sora, Riku, everyone, come here!

Everyone rushes over to the library and they see Mickey walking back and forth, as if something is troubling him deeply.

Sora: What’s wrong Your Majesty?

King Mickey: Gosh fellas, I have terrible news!  Some strange monster have appeared in Port Royal, and they’re causing chaos!  They’re even worse than the Unborn!

Sora: Worse than the Unborn!?

King Mickey: Yes, I fear that it’s a threat more dangerous than the Unborn.  I need to take care of this situation!  Riku, come with me to Port Royal, we have to take care of this before it gets dangerously out of hand!

Riku: Allright!

Dexeres: What about us?

King Mickey: The rest of you will stay here with Terra, Aqua and the others, I fear that there will also be an attack here in this castle very soon.  Be ready to defend the castle, anything can happen!

Donald: You can count on us!

Goofy: We won’t let you down, Your Majesty!

Sora: We’ll protect the castle!

Dexeres: Consider it done.

King Mickey: Thank you so much fellas.  It’s good to know I have so many good friends that I can count on.  Now come on Riku, let’s go!

Riku: Right!

Riku opens a portal and he and King Mickey go through it and head to Port Royal.

Back in the Shattered Realm, Ventus and Vanitas swirl through their foes attacks and counterattack.  They are evenly matched against Master Eraqus and The Guardian Xehanort, and they struggle to keep themselves alive.

Vanitas: Ventus, we have to defeat them!

Ventus: Look!  The Heartless are starting to come out of Maleficent’s castle!

Vanitas: Great, as if we had enough to deal with already.  Ventus, I’m going to need you to back me up.  Can you do that?

Ventus: You can count on me!

Vanitas: Then let’s do this.

Vanitas closes his eyes and starts charging immense energy from inside him.  Ventus keeps Master Eraqus and The Guardian Xehanort at bay with his Firaga spells, and he slays the Heartless that are getting closer to them.  Realizing what is about to happen, Master Eraqus and The Guardian Xehanort disappear, and Ventus is surprised that they left.

Ventus: Look, they’re gone!  We must have weakened them!

Vanitas: Not likely…they retreated.

Ventus: Huh? But why is that?

Vanitas: Because of what I’m going to do now!

Ventus stands back and stands in awe as he sees Vanitas eminating dark aura.  Vanitas smiles and stands in front of Ventus and looks back to him.

Vanitas: You know what I hate more than cowardly enemies?

Ventus: W-what?

Vanitas: I…hate…these damn Heartless!

And with that, Vanitas unleashes his energy, and from his body multiple Unversed come out, and they rush towards the Heartless and start killing them one by one.

Ventus: What?  The Unversed!?

Vanitas: Relax you idiot, they won’t hurt us, they’re our allies.

Ventus: Allies!?

Vanitas: Stop looking stupid and help me kill these Heartless!

Ventus: Okay!

They rush towards the swarms of Heartless and effortlessly kill them with their powerful attacks and devastating magic.  The Unversed pummel through the Heartless swarms and slay them quickly.  The army of Heartless reduces in numbers with every passing second, as Ventus and Vanitas and their Unversed army dispatch them.

Vanitas: Ven, now!

Ventus: Let’s end this!

Ventus and Vanitas jump high into the air, and a Giant Unversed Dragon forms behind them, and all the Unversed merge with the Unversed Dragon, and Ventus and Vanitas unleash their most powerful attack on the army of Heartless.

Ventus: Light and Darkness, Two Powers Intertwined!

Vanitas: Void Dragon, Unleash your power!

And with those words, Ventus and Vanitas unite their Keyblades and fire a devastating beam that destroys every Heartless in sight.  A few seconds later, Ventus and Vanitas are in the ground, and the Unversed go back to Vanitas’s body.

Ventus: That was incredible!

Vanitas: Hmph, darkness isn’t always bad you know.  And here is the proof of it.

Ventus: We did it Vanitas, we destroyed the army of Heartless!

Vanitas: Yeah, but remember, there will be a lot more Heartless then these creeps we took out.

Ventus: What do you mean?

Vanitas: A Heartless is born out of the darkness of a person’s heart.  As long as people have darkness in their hearts, the Heartless won’t cease to exist.

Ventus: I see.  But at least we were able to take out a great deal of them.

Vanitas: Right.  Now come on, let’s go back to Twilight Town.

Vanitas opens a portal and they go through it to Twilight Town, but they were unaware that they were being watched…

Bob: Hmm, these cretins posses incredible power.

Hector: Yes Indeed!  What do you think of this, Master Illushiohus?

Illushiohus: It’s perfect.  And they alone are a great possibility of forming the X-Blade, Kingdom Hearts’s counterpart.  The Master will surely be pleased by these results.

They laugh sinisterly and they disappear from the Shattered Realm.

 

Ventus and Vanitas have defeated the army of Heartless, and now the Unversed have joined the war as allies!  Now the stakes are even higher, as the War escalates into further chaos!  What will happen next?  Will The Master and his cohorts make their next move?  Where are Maleficent and Pete?  And where could Master Eraqus and The Guardian Xehanort have gone?  Will Riku ever discover who’s the mysterious voice of the Young Woman?  Stay tuned for Chapter 32:  A Voice Of Comfort…

All right people, here is the latest chapter of The Keyblade War Saga.  I’m really happy that all of you have enjoyed the story.  And trust me, the most climatic events are approaching ever more with each passing chapter. Hehe, well then, without further delay, here is Chapter 32. Happy New Years everyone!

 

Chapter 32: A Voice Of Comfort

 

Riku and King Mickey arrive at Port Royal, and they patrol the town to make sure that nothing has happened and that no damages have been made.  When they see that the town is perfectly fine, they go towards the dock and contemplate what they should do next.

King Mickey: All right, the town is safe, so that means that the danger must be coming from the sea.  I’m sure of it!

Riku:  If that’s the case, then we should go on a ship and search the seas for our enemies.

King Mickey: Good idea.  Let’s ask the sailor if we can go on his ship!

Riku: Right.

Riku walks towards a sailor that’s fixing up his ship, and he stands in front of him with a serious look in his face.

Sailor: Um, can I help you sir?

Riku: Yes.  We need to borrow your ship, there’s something we’re looking for.

Sailor: All right, but just be sure to bring my ship back in one piece.  I wouldn’t want my dear ship to get sunk!  You’d better take care of my baby!

Riku: We’ll be back quickly, we promise, right Mickey?

King Mickey: Right!

Sailor: All right, then go while the wind blows mighty!

Riku nods and he and King Mickey board the ship and quickly head straight towards the sea.  Riku is silent for a while, and King Mickey can clearly see that something is wrong with him.  But he decides to let him be for the moment, just to see if he would say something to him.  But the hours passed, and Riku said nothing.  After a few more minutes, King Mickey decides to ask Riku what’s wrong.

King Mickey: Gosh Riku, I can’t help but feel that something’s troubling you deeply.  I’ve noticed you’ve been very quiet ever since we boarded the ship.  Do you feel okay?

Riku: …I…I don’t really know.  It’s just that, when I was in Halloween Town, I could have sworn that I heard a voice calling out to me.  The voice of a young woman, but I couldn’t see who it was.  Maybe I’m just imagining things..

King Mickey: Hmmm, a young woman’s voice?

Riku: Yes.  Do you know anything about it Mickey?

King Mickey: Gosh, sorry Riku, but this is all new to me.  But it is strange though.  And you’re the only one who can hear this voice?

Riku: I think so.  Because no one else seemed to hear it.  Anyways, let’s just keep an eye out for our targets.  They can’t be too far.

They keep sailing until suddenly they see a ship in the distance.  Riku and King Mickey stop and stare at the ship, trying to determine if it’s friend or foe. Then they hear a loud thud that shakes the entire ocean.  The waves ripple slowly and Riku and King Mickey almost lose their balance.

King Mickey: Huh?  What was that?

Riku: I think we found our answer.

They look towards the east and they see another ship, a ship that they can clearly recognize.  The Black Pearl!  But they see two powerful looking monsters heading towards it.  Riku taunts the monsters by shooting cannonballs at them, and he gets their attention.  The monsters quickly go towards them.

King Mickey: It looks like we’ve got a fight in our hands!

Riku: We’re going to take them out!

Just as they’re about to attack the monsters, a swirling fog of darkness covers them, preventing them from seeing what happens to the Black Pearl.  Then, evil laughter is heard, and two of the Four Spirits, Windrayda and Aquaon appear before them, clearly amused by Riku and King Mickey.

Windrayda: So, you two are what The Master calls “Keyblade Wielders”?  Ha, you look nothing more than insignificant mortals!  Don’t you agree Aquaon?

Aquaon: Indeed brother, they seem weak enough, but don’t underestimate them.  I sense that they have immense power within.  

King Mickey: So you’re the two monsters causing this chaos!  Who are you?

Windrayda: He is my brother Aquaon, the spirit of water, and I am Windrayda, the spirit of the winds, and we are but two of Four Elemental Spirits that were summoned to dispose of you.

Riku: Who summoned you!?

Aquaon: The Master, a powerful individual who possesses mighty power.  But our creator is a boy named Kyle.

King Mickey: What?  Kyle!?  But how could he create horrible beings like you?

Aquaon: Kyle created us for the purpose of the greater good.  But he was too weak, and he still is.  His heart is trash.  He couldn’t even break free of Xylek’s trance.  He’s worthless if you ask me.  Anyways, my brothers and I realized that we were capable of so much more, but before we could unleash our true power, Kyle sealed us.  But now, we are finally free, and the destruction of all worlds shall be imminent. 

Riku: Not if we have anything to say about it!

Windrayda: Ha, you wish to fight us!?  What a thought that is, but we have no time for you.  Instead, there are other things you should be concerned about.

The two spirits laugh maniacally and they slowly depart.  Windrayda summons tornados and Aquaon makes the seas rage with mighty power.  Soon the waves are violently crashing on the ship Riku and King Mickey are in.  They hold on tight to the masts and hang on to dear life, when they suddenly crash with something.  When the dust clears, they see that they’ve crashed with the Black Pearl, and all the crewmates are fighting against the mighty Kraken.

Riku: What is that thing!?

King Mickey: That must have been what the other ship must have summoned.  The rippling waves must have called forth this beast!  We have to take care of it!

Riku: What about Windrayda and Aquaon?

King Mickey: We’ll take care of them when the time comes, but now we have to focus with the task at hand!

Riku: Right!

They both jump towards the Black Pearl and encounter Jack Sparrow.

Jack Sparrow: Oh, hello there mates, you must be Zola’s friends.

Riku: It’s Sora, not Zola.

Jack Sparrow: Yes, yes, sticks and stones and all that.  I am the mighty Captain Jack Sparrow.  And you must be Riku and King Mickey.

King Mickey and Riku nod to confirm Jack’s statement.

Jack Sparrow: Ah, good, now then, if you shall excuse me, I have to take advantage of this little diversion and get out of here!

King Mickey: You’re going to abandon your friends and let them die at the hands of that monster!?  You’re nothing but a coward!

Jack Sparrow: Yes, a coward that wants to live!  Excuse me then, because I’m off!

Riku and King Mickey stand in shock as they see Jack take a lifeboat and row away from the Black Pearl.  When they turn around, they see one of the giant tentacles of the Kraken swoop down on the ship.

King Mickey: Riku, look out!

Riku tries to dodge, but the tentacle hits him and he falls off the ship and into the sea.  

King Mickey: No!!!

Riku slowly descends deeper in the sea, unconscious, unable to stop himself from drowning.  Then, in an instant, he suddenly feels as if he’s pulled out of the sea.  When he opens his eyes, he sees that he’s in the seashore of a beautiful island.  He looks around and sees that the sand is a perfect soft white color, and he notices the beautiful palm trees surrounding him.  He knows that he’s not in the Destiny Islands, of that much he’s certain, but he wonders where he might be.  Then he suddenly feels a chill run down his spine, and then he feels the presence of the mysterious voice he had heard before.

Young Woman: Riku, you are here.

Riku: That voice again…Who are you?  Show yourself!

He summons his Keyblade and prepares for battle, but then he sees the silhouette of what might be the Young Woman.

Young Woman: Please Riku…I mean you no harm.  I just want to talk to you, and to feel your warmth.

Riku: I…

And out of the bushes, a beautiful young woman with jet black hair and gray eyes approaches him.  Her skin is tan and her features are smooth and delicate.  She shyly approaches Riku, and the first thing she does is run to him and hug him.  She cries desperately and holds Riku close.  At first shocked, Riku doesn’t know what to say.  But slowly he embraces the young woman, and he looks deeply into her eyes.  He barely knows her, and she barely knows him, but they feel a sudden connection.

Young Woman: I’ve wanted to see you for so long.  I’ve yearned for your touch.  I’ve yearned for your warmth…and I’ve yearned for your lips.

Before Riku says anything, the young woman pulls him into a deep and passionate kiss, and he gives in to the kiss and returns all her passion in this gentle and perhaps, the most passionate kiss he’s ever experienced.  They then pull away and she looks away shyly.

Riku: My heart…it feels so warm.

Young Woman: I’m glad to hear that.  That means that you’re gaining consciousness.

Riku: Wait, you mean this is just a dream?

Young Woman: Yes, and no.  For you are definitely in the dream realm, but you are also aware that you are falling deeper and deeper into the sea.

Riku: But…this felt so real. Please tell me that the kiss wasn’t a dream.

She looks at him and gives  him a gentle smile.

Young Woman: The kiss was definitely real, of that you can be sure.

Riku smiles and touches his lips, remembering the strong passionate feel of her lips against his.

Young Woman: I’ve come to you to remind you of something as well.

Riku: What might that be?

Young Woman: The Antrax meteor shard.

Riku: You mean the artifact I recovered back at Baron?

Young Woman: Yes.  That holds the key to winning this war, or at least for turning the tide.  Yen Sid entrusted it to you, and so you hold the balance of power in your hands.  You have the perfect balance of light and darkness, and so you can save us all.

Riku: Do you really think I can do all that?

Young Woman: Yes, because I have faith in you.

Riku looks down in thought, and when he looks up, he sees that she slowly starts to fade away, along with the island paradise.  Riku desperately runs towards her and reaches out to her, but she simply smiles and blushes.

Young Woman: It’s all right.  I’m not dying, you’re just waking up.

Riku: But I want to be with you!  Please, tell me, can I see you again?

Young Woman: Sooner than you think, my dear Riku.

Riku: Wait, I almost forgot, what’s your name?

Young Woman: Hehe, let’s save that for another time.  Let’s save it for our next date.

Riku smiles and nods and she nods back at him and slowly walks away and fades.  Then Riku shoots out of the sea and lands on the Black Pearl and slices off five of the Kraken’s tentacles.  The Kraken shrieks in pain and  retreats.  Everyone cheers for Riku, and King Mickey happily runs towards him.

King Mickey: Riku, you’re all right!  What happened?

Riku smiles and looks down to King Mickey.

Riku: The voice guided me through the darkness.

 

And so Riku has encountered the Young Woman, and he is reminded of the great power he wields.  What will happen next?  Will they be able to defeat the Kraken?  Find out in Chapter 33: A High Risk Battle…

Hello everyone, how’s it going?  Here’s the latest chapter of The Keyblade War Saga. Chapter 33: A  High Risk Battle

Riku and King Mickey stand side by side with the crewmates of The Black Pearl, as they brace themselves for the Kraken’s next attack.  Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann run from across the deck towards Riku and King Mickey, and they nod and stand their ground.

Will Turner: It’s good to see we have allies that won’t run away, like Jack did.

Elizabeth: We appreciate the help.  You two must be Riku and Mickey?

The two nod in confirmation.

King Mickey: Look out!

And when everyone looks up, the Kraken’s giant tentacles swipe at them, and Riku is almost cast overboard.  Will Turner falls to the ground and then notices the gun powder barrels below decks.  Then an idea occurs to him.  He stands up and rushes to Elizabeth.

Will Turner:  Elizabeth, I have a plan!  We have to get those gun powder barrels below decks, and tie them up in a net, so that way we can put it in the center of the ship, and when the Kraken moves in, you shoot the barrels so that the Kraken can get caught in the explosion.

Elizabeth: It sounds like a risky plan…but we have no other choice.  Let’s do it then!

Riku: We’ll distract the Kraken while the crewmates load the barrels.

And so, at Will Turner’s command, the crewmates go below decks and start throwing the barrels into the net.  Riku and King Mickey dodge and weaves through the Kraken’s attacks and they run through one of it’s massive tentacles.  They see the ship being destroyed bit by bit, and crewmates being killed.  Riku uses Dark Raid and King Mickey shoots Spheres of Light towards the Kraken.  The Kraken shrieks in pain, and counterattacks, but Riku and King Mickey are barely able to dodge the attack.

Riku: This thing is tough to defeat.  It’s almost impossible!

King Mickey: Don’t worry Riku!  As long as we’re side by side, nothing is impossible for us!

Riku: You’re right.

They nod and continue to fight the Kraken.

Meanwhile, Vanitas and Ventus return to Twilight Town, where Xion, the Shadow Seeker and the others were waiting.  As Ventus stepped out of the portal, Trish quickly rushed to him and kissed him passionately and hugged him tight, and Kyle ran to Ventus and hugged him tightly as well, and Lunar happily pounced on Ventus’s head.

Trish: We’re so relieved that you came back unharmed!

Kyle: We missed you!

Lunar: It’s good to know that you two came back in one piece.

Ventus: Thanks guys.  And guess what?  We were able to destroy most of the Heartless in the Shadow Realm.  But that isn’t all…

Xion: What’s wrong?

Vanitas: We encountered Master Eraqus and The Guardian Xehanort.  We managed to scare them off somehow.  I’m getting a feeling those two will still be around for a while.

Shadow Seeker: Indeed.  They’re both quite powerful.  We have to take extra precautions.

As they continue to plan what they should do next, Xion suddenly has a strange feeling.  The more she hears the Shadow Seeker’s voice, the more she recognizes it.  Then she starts to notice that she’s blushing.  Then, she suddenly went to the Shadow Seeker and held his hand tight and pulled him towards her.

Xion: Everyone, can you please leave us alone for a second?

Kyle: Um, okay.  Come on guys, let’s go outside.

And in that moment, they go outside and the Shadow Seeker looks at Xion silently.

Shadow Seeker: …What is it?

Xion: You’re voice…it’s strangely familiar.  I know that I’ve met you before.

Shadow Seeker: I don’t know what you’re talking about…

She gently squeezes his hand and puts her hand on his helmet.

Xion: Look at me..

Shadow Seeker: I…

Xion: Please…let me take off your mask…I need to see if you’re who I think you are.

The Shadow Seeker at first hesitates, but then he starts at Xion, indicating to her that she can remove his helmet.  And so, Xion slowly removes his helmet, and when she removes it, her eyes fill with tears as she feels a sense of relief, shock, excitement, and love. She calls out his true name…

Xion: It’s you!  Roxas!!!

She cries and hugs him tightly and Roxas embraces her and holds her close to him and he cries as well, giving in to the emotional moment.

Xion: Why didn’t you tell me that it was you!?

Roxas:  I just…didn’t want you to get hurt.  I just wanted to protect you.  I couldn’t let you know who I was.  I had watched you from the shadows for a long time, I saw how you had been put under Xylek’s spell.  I saw how everything turned out.  But the enemy was clever.  Even in the safety of their own fortress, they still knew how to conceal themselves and remain shut about important details concerning their battle plans and strategies.  I couldn’t even sense their presence when they had their secret meetings.  Then, I decided I had to make my move and get you out of there before you faced more danger.

Xion: I…I didn’t know.

Roxas: I missed you Xion.

Xion: And I missed you too Roxas!

And with that, they passionately kissed and they held each other tight.  Then they pulled away from the kiss and smiled at each other.  But then Roxas put his helmet back on.

Roxas: Xion…don’t tell anyone that I’m Roxas.  At least not for now.  I can’t let anybody know who I am yet.  There’s still many things we must do before this is all over.

Xion: All right, I understand.

Roxas:  All right.  Let’s go with the others and go to Disney Castle.

He goes outside, and Xion smiles and walks out after him, and with the others, they open a portal and go to Disney Castle.

Back at the battle, the gun powder barrels have run out, and the net hasn’t been filled nearly enough to cause a big explosion.

Mr. Gibbs: Will, we’ve run out of gun powder!

Will Turner: Then throw in the rum barrels!

Mr. Gibbs at first hesitates, and the other crewmates also look rather despaired by the fact that they have to waste their rum barrels.  But with no other choice, they throw in the rum as well.  Above deck, the battle intensifies, as the Kraken keeps killing crewmates and destroying the ship.  Riku and King Mickey manage to cut off two tentacles, but the Kraken furiously attacks them.  Will climbs up to the barrel filled net and he signals Elizabeth to fire.  For a moment he’s caught in the net, but is able to free himself.  Elizabeth tries to shoot but the Kraken takes away her weapon.  And just when all hope is lost, Jack Sparrow stands in front of her and shoots the net, and the explosion causes the Kraken to retreat.  It’s a temporary victory, but not one to be celebrated.

King Mickey: Jack, you came back!

Jack Sparrow: Of course I did.  It’s only natural for me to come and save all your lazy bums.

Riku: Thank you for the help Jack.

Jack Sparrow:  Right. Now then, we have to go before the Kraken comes back.

Mr. Gibbs: But Jack, The Pearl!

Jack Sparrow: It’s just a ship mate…

And so, as they go towards the life boats, the clouds suddenly darken.

Riku: Huh?  What’s happening? 

King Mickey: I have a bad feeling about this!

And in an instant, a dark shroud slashes Riku and King Mickey, sending them hurling away from The Black Pearl.  Then they are suddenly floating in mid air.  They are still above the sea, but they are shrouded by the dark cloud.  They struggle to free themselves of the dark shroud, but it’s no use.  And then they hear a familiar voice.

 Mysterious Figure: So, this is where you two have been.

Riku: It’s you again!  What do you want?

Mysterious Figure: Do not sound so alarmed…just listen.

King Mickey: What are you doing?  Let us go!

Mysterious Figure: Not until you’ve witnessed something that I must show you…

Riku: What?

Before they say anything else, they are slowly pulled into the darkness, and in the far distance, they could see The Black Pearl sinking into the sea.

Riku: No!!!

And with that, Riku and King Mickey are swallowed by the dark cloud and cast away into an eternal void.

 

The Shadow Seeker is truly Roxas, and The Black Pearl has been sunken.  What will happen next?  What does The Mysterious Figure want to show Riku and King Mickey?  What purpose could he possibly have for them?  What mysteries await?  Find out in Chapter 34: The Hidden Path…

Hello everyone, here is Chapter 34.  As always, thank you for commenting on my story and for giving me likes, I really appreciate it.  Keep on reading, for I promise that I’ll give you a heck of a finale.  Thank you all, my loyal readers, and I hope you enjoy the chapter!

 

Chapter 34: The Hidden Path

 

Silence.  Nothing but silence.  The only thing that Riku and King Mickey can witness is the lonely and somber silence of the void.  They don’t know where they are, only that The Mysterious Figure transported them here, and where he could be now is a mystery.  They wander for what seems like endless hours, and they wonder if they’ve wandered off into a dream.  Then, all of a sudden, The Mysterious Figure appears before them.  Riku and King Mickey cautiously summon their Keyblades and keep a close watch on The Mysterious Figure.

King Mickey: You again!

Riku: Tell us, why did you take us here?  What do you want from us!?

Mysterious Figure: *sigh* It seems I can never get to have a calm conversation with you two.  You always have to raise your voices.  I just merely wanted to talk.

Riku: Right, then why wouldn’t you talk to us on The Black Pearl?

Mysterious Figure: Because I much prefer privacy, and with that Kraken looming over them, it didn’t seem appropriate for me to have a conversation with you there.

Riku: You sick demented little…

Mysterious Figure: Still your tongue.  There is no need for harsh words.

King Mickey: Why did you bring us here?  What is it that you want to show us?

The Mysterious Figure simply walks towards them and disappears then reappears behind them, and turns to face them. He folds his arms and looks to the horizon, as if waiting for something to happen.

Mysterious Figure: This is The Void, the hidden path, a place where life and death and time itself do not have effect.  It is a place where unlucky souls are condemned to wander these lifeless streams of darkness for all eternity.  Some are cast here, some are not…only very few are the people that can move in and out of The Void effortlessly…

Riku: Get to the point.  What is it that you want to tell us?

Mysterious Figure: Hmph, always the hasty ones, never even bothering to listen…anyways, I’ve come here to test your skills.

King Mickey: Test us?  What do you mean?

Mysterious Figure: You are clearly at a disadvantage in this war.  You’re on the fangs of defeat.  The only thing you’re clinging on is to hope and determination. Impressive as though that may be, you need more then childish hopes to even think of surviving this war.

King Mickey: Wait…it’s almost as if you’re trying to help us..but why would you do that?

Mysterious Figure: …Simply out of curiosity.  Observing, if you will.  Analyzing how far you Keyblade Wielders will go to save what precious little light there’s left in the world…

Riku and King Mickey analyze The Mysterious Figure’s tone.  He sounds almost sad, as if asking for forgiveness for all that he’s done.  But knowing that he’s the enemy, they quickly dismiss the thought.  After all, the enemy will use any trick to deceive opponents.

Riku: How exactly are you going to test us?

 Mysterious Figure: A battle.  But now with me.  No, you shall face one who is skilled with many weapons.  A wanderer of the rift.  A legendary warrior, if you will.  If you can defeat him and claim his power as your own, then, and only then, can you escape from here.

Riku: Wait!

But before he’s able to utter another word, The Mysterious Figure vanishes, and in the distance, a sudden gleam of light can be seen.  Riku and King Mickey prepare for battle, and ready themselves for anything that might happen.

King Mickey: Be careful Riku!  This opponent might be very dangerous!

Riku: Yeah.  We’ve got to be prepared for anything.

Meanwhile, at Disney Castle, Sora, Donald, Goofy and the rest of the gang are in the castle courtyard.  Terra and Aqua are walking in the garden happily, Dexeres talks with Leon, Cid and Yuffie, and Merlin sits on a corner of the courtyard, quietly reading one of his spellbooks.  Chip and Dale eat delicious acorns, and Sora, Donald and Goofy sleep on the grass.  Then, in the garden, Terra and Aqua sit on a bench and hold each other’s hands.

Terra: At least everything is okay for now.

Aqua: Yes.  I’m enjoying what little peace we have.  Since I’m able to be with you, nothing else matters to me.  I’m so happy that we can be together Terra.

Terra: Yes.  Together, in the deepest darkness, in the brightest light.  No matter what, we’ll always be together, and our hearts will never stray from each other.

Aqua smiles and they kiss each other passionately and embrace each other.  Dexeres and Leon suddenly look towards the courtyard entrance, and they see Ventus, Trish, Kyle and Lunar along with Xion and the Shadow Seeker.

Ventus: Hey guys, we’re back!

Trish: How’s it going?

Leon: It’s good to see you all in one piece.  Hey, who are those two?

Xion: I’m Xion, and this is the Shadow Seeker.  We’re here to help.

Dexeres: It’s good to know that we have more allies now.  Your help is most welcome.

Shadow Seeker: We’re glad to be of assistance.

Vanitas: Yeah, we’ll be sure to help.

Dexeres: Huh? Who said that?

And with that, Vanitas appears in front of Dexeres and the others.

Vanitas: It’s me.

Dexeres: Incredible!  You’re now our ally?

Vanitas: I guess so.  The kid rubbed off on me. 

Dexeres smiles and looks at Ventus.

Dexeres: See Ven?  I knew you could be able to find peace with your darkness.  I’m proud of you.

Ventus: Thanks!

Dexeres nods and then Leon approaches them.

Leon: So, what news from the outside?

The Shadow Seeker nods at Xion and at the others.

Shadow Seeker: There’s much to tell.

Dexeres: Then come sit, we’ll be here to listen.

And so they sit down and start to tell everything that happened.

 

Back in The Void, Riku and King Mickey are ready to take on whatever that comes their way.  The gleam of light in the distance suddenly fades, and they see a cloaked warrior. The warrior approaches them and looks at them, as if inspecting their weapons.

Riku: Who are you?

The warrior looks at Riku closely then clears his throat and does a dramatic pose.  “I am Gilgamesh, the mightiest swordsman there is!  I am the Legendary Swordsman!”

King Mickey: Huh? Legendary Swordsman?

Gilgamesh: Why yes, I’ve been wandering the Void for countless eons, awaiting for someone to release me, and it seems you two will be the ones to do it!  And if you can’t, at least I’ll get some comfort by taking your weapons!

Riku: Ha, you wish!

And so, Riku and King Mickey realize that the test they are given is to defeat Gilgamesh, but what could they possibly gain by this, other than escaping from the Void?  But nonetheless, they charge towards Gilgamesh, but to no avail, as he jumps up and attacks him with his Zantetsuken blades.

Gilgamesh: Witness the might of my swords!

King Mickey: Whoah!  He’s sure got a lot of weapons!

Riku and King Mickey dodge his attacks and they jump up and use Strike Raid at Gilgamesh, but Gilgamesh blocks with his Hurricane attack.  Riku then summons his dark powers to perform his Dark Aura attack.  Gilgamesh effortlessly dodges and is amazed by Riku’s abilities.

Gilgamesh: Ah, impressive! Such poise and finesse in your attacks!

Gilgamesh smiles and then turns his attention to King Mickey.

Gilgamesh: Now then little mouse, let’s see what you’re made of.

He starts throwing missiles at King Mickey, and the King dodges his attacks and even runs atop one of the missiles and manages to strike Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh: Ah, splendid!  Never have I gotten such joy of fighting such skilled opponents!

Riku: Hmm, he doesn’t seem evil.  Rather, he seems to be encouraging us to fight him.

King Mickey: You’ve got a point Riku.  Come on, let’s keep fighting him!

Gilgamesh folds his arms and then uses his Rocket Punch attack to knock down Riku and King Mickey.  Then he charges down towards them and strikes with his Katana blades.  Gilgamesh then laughs with such glee that Riku and King Mickey are puzzled by his behavior.

Gilgamesh: You two are worthy opponents, come, keep on battling with me!

Riku and King Mickey combine their attacks and perform a Light Sphere Aura attack.  Gilgamesh watches and grins and is consumed in the blast. After the light dissipates, Gilgamesh falls to the ground.  Riku and King Mickey approach him and point their Keyblades at him.  

King Mickey: Surrender now!

Gilgamesh: Surprise!!!!

And with that, he jumps high up and six arms pop up from his body, and he summons his most powerful sword, Excalibur.

Gilgamesh: It’s Gilgamesh Morphing Time!

Riku: Mickey, look out!

And before they can move, Gilgamesh performs his Mightiest attack, Strongest Sword and he sends them hurling to the ground.

Gilgamesh: Well, it looks like you underestimated me.  Now then, I’ll be taking those nice weapons with me.

King Mickey: Riku, now!

Riku: Right!

Gilgamesh: Huh???

And before Gilgamesh’s very eyes, Riku and King Mickey turn into beams of darkness and light, respectively and they attack Gilgamesh at lighting fast speed.  Then Gilgamesh falls to the ground, this time defeated.

Riku: Now, this time, you’re done.

Gilgamesh: And so I am.  Hahaha, this was a very breathtaking battle!  You have my allegiance, warriors of The Realm of Light.

King Mickey: You mean, you’ll be our ally?

Gilgamesh: Well of course, it’s the least I could do!  Because of you two, I’m finally freed of this disgusting prison!  Freedom, Hahahaha!!!!

And with that, Gilgamesh dissipates and goes into Riku’s Keyblade.

Gilgamesh: Whenever you require my assistance, summon me and I shall aid you.

Riku: Huh, how about that?

King Mickey: Hehe, it looks like The Mysterious Figure did help us after all!

And all of a sudden, a beam of light showers upon them, and when they open their eyes, they are at the Engine Room in Disney Castle.

King Mickey: We’re back!

Riku: Yeah, we sure are.

And with that, they go towards the courtyard to reunite with their friends.

 

The Mysterious Figure seems to have helped Riku and King Mickey, but why?  Nonetheless, Riku now possesses the power of the mighty swordsman Gilgamesh, and maybe, just maybe, things may start to be going well in our heroes favor.  But what will happen next?  Find out in Chapter 35: Confession…

All right guys, here’s another chapter of The Keyblade War Saga.  I’m doing the best I can to post chapters as often as possible!  Thank you for being so patient and for always commenting on my story.  I hope that you enjoy!  Without further ado, read on ahead.

 

Chapter 35: Confession

 

The Shadow Seeker and Xion explain to the rest everything that happened, and everyone paid close attention.  But Sora, Donald and Goofy were still sleeping calmly on the grass, without a care in the world.  Then Riku and King Mickey came through the courtyard entrance and saw them sleeping.  King Mickey smiled and Riku indicated to the King that he was going to wake them up.  He goes up to them and stands in front of them.

Riku: WAKE UP YOU LAZY BUMS!

And with that, Sora, Donald and Goofy abruptly wake up.

Goofy: Whoah!  What’s going on!?  Did Donald get away with the cake again???

Donald: Hey, what’s the big idea!?

Sora: Riku, Mickey, you’re back!

Donald: Waak!  Your Majesty!

Goofy: We’re happy to see that you’re all right!

Riku: We’re happy to be back.  And it looks like everyone is here and accounted for.

They walk towards the rest of their allies, but they notice that Kyle is in the corner of the courtyard, gazing upon the gardens, seeming to look troubled.  He seems filled with pain and sadness.  Ventus goes towards Kyle and puts his hand on his shoulder.

Ventus: Hey Kyle, why the long face?  Why are you all alone over here, when you could be with us over there?  Is something wrong?

Kyle: It’s just that…I’ve caused so much suffering.  None of this would have happened if I’d only never created The Four Sprits.  I’m sorry…

Ventus: What do you mean?

Kyle: It’s time that all of you knew…Everyone!  Gather around.  I need to make a confession…

At his request, everyone goes towards him and looks at him, wondering what is it that he wants to say.  Vanitas simply goes to the corner of a wall and leans his back on it, as if knowing what Kyle is about to say.  Everyone looks at Kyle and are eager to listen.

Aqua: What is it Kyle?

Kyle: There are some things that you should know.  I must tell you that my memories have returned.  I remember everything from my past, and I know who my parents were, and everything that happened before my memory had been erased.  It all started twelve years ago, when my father Dimitri started his research.  He and my mother Alicia would work countless hours trying to find answers to all of their questions.  Then, the Heartless killed my parents, and Ansem the Wise raised me as his own.  Then I decided to continue the research that my parents had started, and so I created The Four Spirits.  It’s something I should have never done.  Xylek put me under his trance, and it’s because of me that The Four Spirits have been unleashed.  It’s all my fault…I brought doom to you all.

Everyone stays silent for a few seconds and Kyle kneels down to the floor and cries.

Kyle: I’m so sorry!

Ventus: Don’t blame yourself!  You weren’t in control of yourself, Xylek was controlling you!  None of that matters now, because you’re here with us!

Ventus goes to Kyle and hugs him, and Kyle continues to cry.  One by one, everyone puts their hands on his shoulders, reassuring him that he is forgiven.

Terra: The past is the past, it’s already been done.  Don’t blame yourself for something you couldn’t control.  What matters is the actions we do to stop all of this.

Dexeres: That’s right.  What we do now can change the course of the future.  We’re here for you Kyle.

Lunar: Yes Kyle, we are all here to give you strength.  You can always count on us.

Kyle: But, you’ve all done so much…I can’t…

Vanitas: *sigh* Listen kid, stop your pointless whining and get a grip already!  Stop mumbling and grumbling about the past, and stop blaming yourself for something you didn’t know how to control.  Man up and face the reality of the situation and deal with it.  Don’t beat your face over it.  The last thing I want is to have a cry baby along with us.

Aqua: Vanitas, that’s so insensitive!

Kyle: No.  He’s right.  He’s right in every single way.  The darkness may have had a hold on me, but now I shall fight the darkness.  I’ll face the reality of the situation and deal with it.  Thanks Vanitas.

Vanitas turns around and raises his arm up and waves at Kyle.  Then he goes to lay down on the grass and sleep.

Sora: Hey!  Why’s he laying down over there???

Riku: Oh come on Sora, you’re a lazy bum too.

Sora: No, that’s not what I mean!  He took my favorite spot! 

And with that, everyone bursts into laughter, and Vanitas himself can’t help but smirk.

Meanwhile, in The Master’s fortress, Illushiouhus, Bob and Hector walk towards the gallery deep in the castle.  Illushiouhus is deep in thought, while Bob and Hector look all around the walls and paths leading to the gallery.

Bob: This part of the castle always gives me the creeps!

Hector: Oh shut up, you whiny thing!  We are minions of darkness, we don’t have to fear the darkness!  We own it!

At those words, Illushiouhus stops and Bob and Hector stand perfectly still, afraid that Illushiouhus might strike them. Instead he only turns around and looks down on them.

Illushiouhus: Don’t make any mistake, we are warriors of darkness, but we do not own it.  If you get too close to the darkness, it will consume you…

He then turns around and continues walking.

Hector: What was that about Bob?

Bob: Could it be that Master Illushiouhus actually cares about us???

Illushiouhus smiles and they keep walking towards the gallery.  After a few minutes they arrive, and Bob and Hector sit down on the floor while Illushiouhus inspects the perimeters thoughtfully and he wanders off into the vast expense of the gallery.

Bob: Hmm, what could Master Illushiouhus possibly be searching for?  If it’s some sort of information he seeks, why didn’t he simply go to the castle library?

Hector: Ah, but that’s just it my comrade, what he seeks  must be here!  Remember what they say, pictures are worth a thousand words.

Bob: Who do you think invented that rubbish?

Hector: Who knows?  But I kind of like that phrase. 

They lay their backs on the wall and wait for Illushiouhus to find whatever he is seeking.

 

Back at Disney Castle, Cid is in the Engine Room, helping Chip and Dale make adjustments to the airship and building new tools to make the engine room even better. Leon, Yuffie, Aerith, Xion and the Shadow Seeker read books in the library. Kairi watches as Sora, Donald and Goofy are practicing their new combat techniques, and Kyle sits with Lunar, who seems to be meditating.  Terra and Aqua are in the castle, Riku and Dexeres are seeing to the defenses of the castle.  Ventus and Trish are walking down the hall holding hands, pondering on what the future may hold.

Trish: Ventus, you’ve grown stronger.  You have such willpower now, and you’re so determined to take care of Kyle.  Hehe, it’s almost as if you’re trying to be his father.

Ventus: Hehe, thanks.  And yeah, Kyle means a lot to me.  You know, I actually do feel like a father to him.  He has no parents.  We have to look out for him. 

Trish: Yes, I think so too.

Ventus: Trish…thank you for everything.  You’ve helped me to stay on track, and you’ve made sure that my heart never wavers.  You’ve always been there for me, and I just want to let you know that I love you so much.  You mean everything to me Trish.

Trish: Ven, you mean everything to me too.  And I know that things have been rough, but our determination and strength to see each other through the most harsh situations makes everything worthwhile.  I love you Ven.

Ventus: I love you too Trish.

They smile and tenderly kiss with gentle passion.

Down at the courtyard, Kyle wonders what Lunar is thinking, and he gets closer to him, trying to see if he can get Lunar to speak.

Kyle: Lunar?

Lunar: Yes?

Kyle: Oh, it’s nothing.  Never mind.  I just wanted to know what you were thinking.

Lunar: In truth my friend…I’m thinking much about the future.  And thinking of what fate may fall upon us. 

Kyle: What do you mean?

Lunar: Kyle, I just want you to know that no matter what happens, you and I shall always have a strong bond of friendship.

Kyle: Why are you saying things like that?  You sound like your saying goodbye!

Lunar: Maybe.  Or maybe I’m just afraid.

Kyle: Lunar…we’re all afraid.  But it’s the courage our friends give us that helps us pull through.

Kyle hugs Lunar tightly, and Lunar stays silent.  “Kyle…be strong…for the both of us.” ,he says to himself in his mind.  Lunar closes his eyes and continues meditating.

Lunar: They are here.

Kyle: Huh?  What do you mean?

Then suddenly, dark clouds gather over Disney castle, and an ominous wind blows.  Everyone freezes, and their hearts beat with fear, as they look up to the sky and fear for the worse.  Kyle looks up and holds Lunar closer to him.  Lunar keeps meditating, and everyone starts getting out to the courtyard.  Everyone prepares the defenses of the castle and brace themselves for what comes next. Sora, Donald, Goofy and the others prepare for battle.  Dexeres rushes to the front of the rest and reassures them that they’re ready for anything.

Dexeres: Everyone, prepare yourselves!

And suddenly, thunder cracks, a strong wind starts blowing, and from the sky, The Four Spirits descend and start destroying the castle effortlessly.  Everyone holds back their attacks, but to no avail, as parts of the castle start to crumble down.  The Four Spirits surround the Keyblade Wielders and Kyle watches in horror.  Lunar then slowly opens his eyes.

Lunar: It has begun…

 

The Four Spirits have arrived to Disney Castle, and they are wreaking havoc.  What will happen to our heroes?  Are they doomed now, after all the effort they had put into pushing back the enemy?  What else shall occur?  Prepare yourself for Chapter 36:  A Tragic Day…
