My friend recently invited me to watch some of the old anime shows with her and we start thinking all the old shows back so I thought on sharing some of the great anime shows 10 years or so ago with you guys. I was like 8 when I first started watching. Most of this shows are shown on AXN for those who grew up to watch it at that time.

One of the anime that made me into watching anime shows back in the day. I watch this when it was aired back in 1997-1998. I'll be honest, this is seriously an awesome show but of course the word "fishing" will made you lol throughout the whole series. Legendary fishes, Fishing bait that evolves and cause tidal waves. You name it.

The very FIRST anime show that started it all throughout my youth years. The story, the characters, and the drama really got me hooked into watching this show, but I'll have to be honest. The anime has its downfall as the story wasn't finished so it was concluded in the manga. The Live-Action show was funny too!

 

Sakura Wars

This show is actually quite a long show as it expands to other cities and it connects to the prequels, sequels and OVAs. I've only watched the original and the one from Paris. There are more but I didn't get to watch it at that time.

 

 

Fushigi Yuugi

So for those who likes love, betrayal, drama and so on. This Anime is for you. I won't tell you the plot because its kinda well put together.

Its about a universe where man and woman are seperated and they go to war against each other. simple example like a man thought that woman eats the man's heart to live and the woman thought otherwise. There is a plot hole but that won't stop you from watching it. Oh and the graphics was awesome at that time. I was like "WOW! LIKE PS2 GRAPHICS!" there was no ps3 or xbox360 at the time so...yeah. =/

Its about this high school guy that holds the power of fire dragons (I don't remember how many) and brings down evil. I'm pretty sure that this show is still wildly known until today but I'll just add it here for those who haven't heard of this show.

Gensomaden Saiyuki

Based on the story "Journey To The West". This anime was loved mostly by female viewers. The story is actually very cool and the action scenes are good. The story is STILL going on after 11 years and it is one of the longest running manga series next to One Piece. I only watched the first arc of the anime. There are alot of sequels but I stop watching by then."

 

 

Groove Adventure Rave

Its about a boy named Haru Glory becomes the RAVE Master and was given the Ten Commandments Sword by the original rave master. There are a few plot twist so I won't talk much about this. The anime had a let down start of the series but it picks up quick and made the story more interesting. Sadly the anime stops production half-way so you have to buy the manga to finish the story.

My first anime DVD purchased and will forever be my favourite anime DVD ever. Its about a 14 year-old girl that discovers a book that had 52 magical cards but was scattered as she opens it as the card had their own personality and she was given the power of the sorcerer of cards to capture all of them and bring them to its original state. This story is quite engaging and it is funny, romantic, sad, and exciting at the same time. Not to mention the anime being animated beautifully at the time. It was first released back in 1998. Also this is the only anime that I like all of the songs in it. Bought the original soundtrack and never regretted it. =)

One of the most draggy anime story that I've watched. This anime story is more of like sitcom rather than story driven but if you want to see how the story goes and ends, you can read the manga. Its about a boy named Ranma and his dad Genma were training in the mountains in china and they accidently fell onto a hot spring with magical power and they change form whenever they land into cold water. They can change back into their original forms by using hot water. So for Ranma's curse, he turns into a girl whereas Genma turns into a panda. Overall this anime is pretty funny if you don't really care much about the story and just have fun watching. The anime was released back on 1989 before I was EVEN BORN! Manga was released 1987 and ends at 1996. so conclusion? typical guy secretly likes girl but never tells her, bunch of girl jealousy fights, guy hates other guys. Its a very funny anime and Girls will definitely like this anime as my friend used to beg me to watch this anime with her.

I've been meaning to watch You're Under Arrest, Fushigi Yuugi, Mai-HiMe, Card-Captor Sakura, and Ranma 1/2, for the longest time but I haven't gotten the chance yet.

No Tokyo Mew Mew? Best Magical Girl anime ever. (Excluding Sailor Moon and possibly Madoka Magica.)
