Who do you think will win the mark of mastery?

Posted

Who do you think will win(or become masters)? Honestly, I think they both will. But when I read the translation of the trailer... or rather this part:

Yen Sid: "From this point onward, Sora and Riku will go and take the Mark of Mastery exam."

Sora, surprised: "Even without taking it, no one can beat me!"

Riku, facing downward: "Having walked the path of darkness, I wonder if it’d really be right for me to wield the Keyblade. You’d have to make sure.

First I was like, whoa Sora, getting a little arrogant there. And like a wise man once said: "Arrogance will get you killed!"

So yeah, how many times did we see the prideful ones fall? Example: um...let me see...RIKU??!?!? Plus, what Riku says too kinda gets to me. He's really taking being wielder of a keyblade seriously. Now I'm starting to think that maybe, MAYBE! Riku will become a master BEFORE Sora. That, or he actually isn't worthy of being a KeyBearer.

So yeah, what do you guys and gals think of it?

It's a term I use. Another way to say it would be that he's not prejudiced against it. Eraqus abhored the Darkness because he didn't understand it. He thougth it was only evil. Yen Sid understands better, and knows that Riku has control over his Darkness, unlike Terra.

True that, tulupe dupe!(<- ignore that, just...idk) Though I thought Riku now uses Darkness and Light. And Sora from the Heart. I think anyways.

To quote Master Eraqus, "Today you will be examined for the Mark of Mastery. Not one but two of the Keyblade’s chosen stand here as candidates... but this is neither a competition nor a battle for supremacy―not a test of wills, but a test of heart. Both of you may prevail, or neither."

It's not actually a matter of winning or losing but I assume Riku will appear back at Destiny Islands first, (assuming they will both become masters) just because he always seemed to be the stronger of the two. But you never know, Nomura did say he wanted to surprise us.

I really think that what will happen is some how the two will get into it deep and need to help eachother out, and both win the mark of mastery. I dont think its going to be granted to one and not the other, they are too important to the story and this is what will help them move forward.

My question is, as I am pretty sure they will be granted title of master if not in this game eventually, will Sora and Riku take on apprentices? :D

I doubt they will, unless other people get the Keyblade later on.

If they did though kh could last longer.

I feel there must be other keyblade masters out there somewhere as all this shit is going on, and if so im hoping they'll arrive after kh3 if not sooner

Tht is wat I was trying 2 say.

Well why not? Would make the story more interesting would it not? A re-building of the Keyblade order?

Yea and maybe a break from Sora.

Yea and maybe a break from Sora.

Nomura said Sora will always be the main character, even in the following Saga's.

Yea, I also had that thought, even before reading the trailer discription I couldn't help but get this nagging feeling Sora might not pass; I hope I'm wrong though, I wanna see both of them pass! But reading what he said on how he can't be beat didn't exactly help ease that gut feeling that he's screwed. .w.; I mean, there's nothing wrong with having faith in yourself, in fact Riku could use some of that these days.....which kinda makes me wonder if Riku has a chance to pass too. His lack of confidence might cause a Terra effect....in which he tries really hard to release the worlds from sleep and because he's so focused on doing the right thing, he ends up doing something that makes everything backfire. @v@;;;;

Hmmm......hopefully this exam teaches Sora to not be so cocky, and for Riku to have the right amount of faith in himself. Both of them have an extreme case of one or the other atm. I'm rooting for them though! ;w; <3

We have had a break from Sora, they're called 358/2 Days and Birth by Sleep. xD

I think Riku will pass his first, but by the end of the game they both will have done so.

Oh yeah....i mean mabey a new story line lol

"Darkness will become Light, Light Falls into Darkness" <- i think that means Riku will pass and Sora will fail.

You do know that Sora failing means he doesn't come back from the Dream World, right?

hmm, maybe that's what the surprise ending is?? lol

ok maybe he doesnt fail, but maybe along the way Riku gets rid of his darkness and Sora somehow gets a little darker?? during his journey he picks up a little darkness of his own??

I dont think so plus the only way to fail is never to come back O.o.

You can't make these things to common. The existence of of more than one keyblade after KH1 robbed a bunch of magic from under its feet, more keyblade wielders would simply dull the story further.

I agree.

I dont really know after watching the trailer Riku said that he fall into darkneess and blah blah blah. But isn't Riku a bit of a SHA,E? I mean in kh1 they stole his body or whatever in Days he was the bad guy he lost his appearence for a while he lost his chance of being a keyblade master, He fall into darkness.... I want Sora to win but i would like Riku too. I won both..

Sora and Riku must win....

I disagree .. adding more keyblade wielders builds more backstory on the keyblade itself. Why it exists, what is required to obtain it and what does it take to truly master it. kingdom hearts is spread throughout a huge number of worlds, creating numerous sagas to a series calls for ideas. Adding more story to the keyblade will bring up more questions, making it a more engaging story in my opinion.
