Weight Loss Tips

Recommended Posts

A pretty self explanatory thread.

See, I've been trying to lose weight (goal weight being 100 pounds by Christmas) and I've been doing pretty well.

This thread is for anyone who wishes to share some weight loss secrets or is losing weight also and wants to share their progress.

Although, I don't enjoy sharing my weight, I've gone from 155 lbs. to 143 lbs. in a little less than two weeks.

What I did was simply change my eating habits. If you intend to lose weight, you NEED to eat breakfast. It's the only way to kick off your metabolism. I usually didn't eat anything, but even just a tiny bit of food is good enough. Eating a good breakfast makes me eat less at lunch and then I eat a regular meal at dinner. I don't eat after 7, since after a certain time your metabolism starts slowing down BIG TIME.

This plus working out has helped me lose weight

:3

Again, feel free to share your own tips.

How old are you? 100 pounds is really unhealthy. I suggest trying to go for 130. It's a healthy weight and you'll look nice. Don't overdo it.

well If you want to loose weight do the following:

1. Eat 4 to 6 small meals evenly spanned through out the day . About every 3 to 4 hours in between meals.

2.Drink lots of water in between meals or Green tea to help burn off some fat

3.Eat lots of veggies and fruit (they help you loose weight)

4. Go out for a jog every once in a while

Good luck :)

Ps.

Don't starve yourself because it won't work. You'll end up gaining the weight back real quickly.

im in my 20's and im 110 and trying to get down to 100. it just depends on ur build. im short and always been really tiny, so when i gain weight, like the 10 i gained, u can feel it. its really uncomfortable and i can see it too.

ive been eating low carb, no sugar, only white meats and lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains... also drinking water, but i definitely need to start drinking more. and im gonna start walking around the lake i live on. hopefully that helps cuz its taking forever lol

I've got 118,8 pounds... But I still think I'm a bit fat... Everyone around me keep saying that I'm not, but still ;CC

But yeah, practicing sports, making walks, and eating less, or things that aren't too greasy help a lot. It's clearly, however, that everything is about if you want or not. If you want, and do everything, you'll see the results soon, but if you want, but you aren't capable of changing anything, sorry, but you will get nowhere.

How old are you? How tall are you? If you're young enough for 100 pounds to be healthy, you're not old enough to be dieting.

you guys do realize that 100 pounds is perfectly healthy if you're a little on the short side, it isnt age that matters, it's height. I know a sophmore who is still about the same height as a 3rd grader, yet she is 15, so should she weigh 130 pounds? no, she weighs under 100.

Whether a weight is healthy or not depends on many things and it changes within each age group, and the person (also your BMI is basically what really matters but meh). If you're say, a teen and you're 5'4 I'm pretty sure it's recommended to be around about 120-140ish. Not EXACTLY but it's a standard healthy weight. It can also depend on your age too, but it's different for every person whether or not a weight is healthy or not.

Also substituting is better than a drastic change to your diet (I'm not saying anyone is.. I'm just saying. xD). Say, instead of fries you get healthy veggies, instead of steak you get grilled chicken, on your salad you don't get the ranch dressing, etc. Drastic diet changes are actually bad for you and it's better to do slower transitions if you're wanting to make your overall eating habits healthier. It's worked for me and I've managed to lose weight without worrying if getting desert or having a special meal once in a while. But yeah I don't skip breakfast because it's terrible for you. Also I watch the salt intake because too much isn't good for you & there's already salt in a meal so there's no real need to add it even if it's for the flavor. :U

As for working out I work out around 20-40 minutes a day. It doesn't matter what it is, but if you aren't in the mood for running, walking for a longer period of time you can get the same amount of a workout than say a runner would in half the time. Also instead of sitting on the computer for long periods of time getting up once in a while and doing the dishes or something active is a good way to keep your body active in addition to working out. LITTLE THINGS DO COUNT.

That seems unhealthy and hard to keep.

Eh... You need a different calorie intake to retain the weight once you get there and that's too drastic of a change for someone that normally eats three meals. The meal if it's healthy or not depends on what you would have ate. If you're not going to have a literal lunch it will actually harm your body in the long run if you aren't getting enough of the necessary nutrients in each food group. Also the number of calories you need to take in each day is different for each person and the same thing goes if you want to lose weight. Depends on the same things people have been talking about too (like the way your body build is and stuff).

Like others have said, 100 pounds is perfectly healthy for certain heights and body builds, which Lady Koko probably fits into and is thus targeting a healthy weight. According to the BMI calculator I just pulled up, 100 pounds is normal weight for heights between 5 foot 1 inch and 4 feet 6 inches.

Anyway, I admire you Koko. Ironically, our Health class just did a nutrition unit a week ago, and we learned a lot about this stuff. Right now I wish I could lose some weight... I would settle for still being overweight, just not to the extent I am now. I have already started drinking more water and trying to eat a better variety of foods, and less of them. However, I don't get hardly enough exercise, which (I am shamed to admit) is mostly my fault.

Age doesn't matter, height matters more than age I believe.

That's more like the borderline anorexic way which is really unhealthy and can screw up your metabolism. If you mess up your metabolism, you'll be basically fat when you're older.

Also 1500 calories is not a healthy intake. Adult women need 2000 calories. More if you're an athlete.

I'm 5'1 so yes I know I'm targeting a healthy weight. I've been overweight most of my life, although I don't look it and this is the first time I'm really dedicated to loosing the weight.

It depends on your height! You're lighter than me so I automatically assume youre not fat :I

Exactly! People think doing it the 'easy' way works, when in reality, you have to WORK for it.

Koko you dont need to loose weight :)

I do. I'm overweight and have been all my life. I'm doing this to feel better about myself and to be healthier

I strongly suggest you get a healthier diet. A small breakfast, filling lunch and a light dinner might be better than just 2 meals a day.

It's a really bad habit and it shouldn't be promoted! D:

Diet can also mean your general way of eating. So it is your diet and I do recommend trying something healthier but if you won't your loss in the long run when it starts to effect your health when you're older. :U

Diet means your eating habits
