But to answer your question, from a psychologists point of view, I guess it must be the same reason that people abuse other people, although because people see animals as inferior to humans and of course, they can't go to the police and have the person arrested, so animals are the perfect targets for pent up aggression and rage. Then there are those sick sadists, who get a kick out of inflicting pain to others and again, an animal is just the easier choice. It's completely sick and horrible. Can't wait for planet of the Apes!

November 6, 201113 yr It's really sad. I'm not an animal enthusiast, but I can't imagine what possesses any person to do something like that to any living creature. If I were ever to do something like that, I could never forgive myself, and I would feel like a sick, twisted mental case. It's so depressing, especially when you see the look on those animals' faces. :'(

Can't wait for planet of the Apes! Actually, you can potentially get jailed for animal abuse, more likely to get fined. And I think you can also be forbidden to own animals. As to the poll, they're corrupt little [insert explicit here]s. In my opinion animal abusers are up there with rapists and human abusers, heck possibly murderers as well. You are literally torturing a living creature, and many times the animals die or have to be humanely euthanized and it is sad. People think they can get away with it as animals aren't as able to defend themselves, and because so many people are of the opinion that animals are somehow lower than people. The worst part is, many animals that are abused and rescued (the ones that live) turn out to be really sweet and kind animals. If their first owners had even given a damn about them, they would have had a great friend and companion. Animals aren't as different from humans as many believe. They have personalities and feelings. They can feel pain, they can feel sadness, and they can have fun and be happy. But do abusers care? Nope. What can they possibly hope to gain from this anyway? Really, people like this deserve to have their @$$ thrown in jail and be fined for all they're worth. Its disgusting. (Sorry for the language. Well, not anything compared to some, but for me it is quite a bit. I just feel really strongly about this topic.)

I didn't click that because I saw your post on facebook and I don't like to see blood, though I love animals. Animals are way better than some people, including those crazy people that do that with the poor animals. They should go to jail until they die >

I asked what was wrong.(she isn't the type to cry easily) She didn't say anything and pointed towards the screen. I replayed the last video she had seen. It was a video of a group of Brazilian kids burning their dog alive. The only thing I have to say is: My father and mother were needed to restrain me, or else I would have completely smashed my sister's laptop. But one thing we have to have in mind. To be able to call ourselves "sane and right" we have to have people who are logically called "insane and wrong". A play needs a balance between good and bad actors. If there were only good actors, no one would understand anything and would get extremely bored. Same thing with the world. If there aren't any nutty people doing what they do, how can we say who's right and who's wrong? Who's sane and who's insane? For order to be born, we have to have anarchy. A balance of ONLY GOOD is a bad thing.
