Final Fantasy VII or Dragon Quest VIII to be re-released on the 3DS?

Posted

An unnamed source has supposedly revealed that the Nintendo 3DS will have a re-release of:

…a remix version of the 7th game of a famous (J)RPG series, and will sell half year later of a spin-off game of the series.

This seems likely to be Dragon Quest VII or Final Fantasy VII. That is, of course, if the actual rumor is true. But the source is said to be reliable, so let’s hope something comes of it.

Thanks to Nintendo 3DS Blog.

Probably Final fantasy VII. Just sayin'.

Dragon Quest 7 would be the one to come out in my opinion at least

COOKIE MONSTER HOPES ITS FINAL FANTASY VII. HE SAYS IT'S HIS FAVORITE GAME EVER AND PLAYS IT WHILE EATING COOKIES.

It would be awesome to FINALLY see remake a Final Fantasy VII,but I doubt they'll decide to remake FFVII on the 3DS.If they remake FFVII,I'm sure it will be on PSvita,PS3 or any new Sony console because since Final Fantasy VII Nintendo never got a ''real'' Final Fantasy game, not even a port or a remake (I'm not including the remakes of FF 1,2,3,4,5,6 since they were originally made on a Nintendo console) so I think it will be a Dragon Quest VII remake.

Well I hope it would be Final Fantasy 7 just to see how well they would develope it for the 3DS, Not much of a Dragonquest fan ._.

Do you realize how much easier it would be to remake the game on the 3DS as opposed to an HD console, right? With the 3DS, they could reuse assets from PSP games, for example.

Lol. You just brought up a fact or figure that could back up FF 7. They released remakes of FF 1 - 6 on the Nintendo DS. So it makes sense if their remaking FF 7 for the 3DS. Could also mean FF 8 and FF 9 might also be remade for it.

Well,Square Enix likes to push things to there limits and that's why they kind of ''left'' Nintendo for Sony and they know that Final Fantasy VII is something BIG that the fans want so much,so I think that if they remake FFVII they'll put the maximum effort to it which mean an HD remake. But that's just my opinion,I might be wrong and they could easily remake in for the 3DS

Erm... no. Square left Nintendo due to disagreements. Basically, it was a big deal when Final Fantasy started appearing on the GBA. Square has been moving back to Nintendo since, in case you haven't noticed, and they've been moving further away from Sony.

And here's the thing, Square has said that they have looked in to remaking FFVII, but would only do it in one year or less. On the 3DS, that would actually be possible.

OMG hope it's Final Fantasy VII xD

I really hope it's FF7! I've always wanted to play it!

Also, I noticed a typo in the title. You put dragon quest VIII (8 ) instead of VII.

The hopeful side of me wants it to be FF7 just because I want to try it and because I know it would almost definitely boost 3DS sales. The pessimist in me thinks it will be DQ, because of the most unholy, vulgar, vile, aggravating wrath (fanboy rage) that would develop from FF7 being remade on a Nintendo handheld. And I am not a fan of DQ.

EDIT:

Actually, I am almost certain it will be DQ. "...and will sell half year later of a spin-off game of the series." Since there is DQ Rocket Slime coming out on the 3DS.

EDIT2:

Oh wait, Theatrythm Final Fantasy is also coming out. Never mind.

It would be really cool for those 2 games to come on the 3Ds, I would play them for sure.

They haven't left only for desagreements,Nintendo's catriges were limited for there projects and when they learn that the Nintendo 64 was still Catriges they decided to move to Sony's PS1 for there CR-ROM

That was part of the disagreement.
