he just wants some recognition ..

They just want some attention,I haven't played Mario Kart 7 yet(of course),but it seems to have the same formula of the others Mario Karts so it can't really suck.Its like Peta when they attacked Nintendo and the Tanooki suit,now they said that it was just a joke.

Don't give Jim Sterling attention. He's prone to pulling stunts like this.

I'd recommend reading some of his others views (Such as his Sonic Colours) if it wasn't for the fact that he would get more views and recognition if people did that.

It's best just to ignore him, and by extension, Destructoid.

I perceive that as somewhat negative, correct me if I am wrong. But yes, it is the 7th game, since the series started 19 years ago.

 

Anyway, I wouldn't pay this review much attention. From other reviews I have read, it is quite a good game. In fact, I believe the reviews I read both gave it a 9/10.

kind of .. mario kart is one of the big titles that contributed to nintendo's success back in the day, and since they aren't doing so well .. they need it lol

Nintendo is running out of ideas. All they do is make remakes and sequels. Sony however has a lot of First Party (Exclusive to the PlayStation) titles.

that's true also, that's why we're seeing more kh title's for the handheld now tho, so i'm not complaining. but as far as wii u and all that goes, nintendo tries to shoot for the next big thing in gamings future so it's a hit or miss situation a lot of the time, wii was pretty successful at first but wii u may not be as lucky. chances are nintendo might fail within the next generation of gaming for the reasons you just stated

Yes. Nintendo needs to just give it up already because if you think about it, all they are doing is making Remakes and Sequels. People don't want that. More people are becoming hardcore gamers because Nintendo hasn't been making that many good games lately.

well theyre all classics that get great ratings .. people will buy the system just because it's mario and zelda, and parents see nintendo as more family friendly games, so it's not all that surprising

I guess you have a point there but it seems like this little gmmick of Nintendo isn't working anymore after all these years. Their audience is moving on to the PlayStation and Xbox.

tutti frutti. I would have to agree with a number of others in regards to the attention ordeal. I'm sure at this point Nintendo knows how big Mario Kart is at this point to where it couldn't be that bad. Though I'm not sure about everyone else, though I usually don't lean by reviews too much anyway. They are pretty much just the opinions of critics. My favorite Mario Kart game is Double Dash, followed by Mario Kart 64,then thirdly Mario Kart Wii. I'm sure everyone who has played the series has their own favorites. I'm looking forward to the game myself.

Nintendo is basically videogames best equivalent to Pixar. Nintendo has more bad games than Pixar has bad movies, but that has to do with Nintendo making more games than Pixar making movies. People buy Mario games and Zelda games because they know they'll be consistently well made fun games, Nintendo knows what it's doing after all

That's odd, nearly every game that sold well this year has been a sequel. CoD, Battle Field, Uncharted, Skyrim, Portal 2... and a lot more...honestly i couldn't be bothered to list the sheer quantity of sequels this year. Also, are you under the impression there is a new Zelda game each year? For that matter, there are a grand total of six 3D Mario platformers ever. And the games are always very different and far removed from one another.

Wait what? What does KH have to do with anything here? Wii successful AT FIRST? The Wii sold 500,000 units this Black Friday. Whether you want to believe it or not, the Wii is going surprisingly strong. The Playstation is only now catching up. You think Nintendo will fail in a single generation? That's... awfully quick.

Those remakes and sequels are 1st party titles. And guess what, the first part games on the Playstation are all sequels and remakes as well.

Nintendo is doing fine. They recorded their first loss this year, but after all the success the Wii had, it's a huge stretch to call it 'failing'

Heaven forbid games be upgraded and modernized over time.

I mean, it's not like the games have been clones or anything, each one has something different going for it.

Meh, I much prefer Zelda 2, Zelda 4, Zelda 6, Zelda 7, Zelda 8, Zelda 10, Zelda 13 and Zelda 16: Zelda doesn't get captured.

How do you figure? The Playstation is gaining momentum, but I don't think I've ever heard a person talk about the X-Box brand this year. Once Nintendo deiced not to be stupid with the 3DS, it picked up dramatically. And I find it hard to believe their audience is 'moving' to those either. Believe it or not, it's possible to like more than one brand of console
