My Nintendo DS is the first type that came out (it's been discontinued for awhile now) and i've had the same one for years but for the last couple monthes when i open the screen on turn it on the colors on the top screen look like one of the pictures you highlight and copy. Well now i'm thinking of getting a new DS but i'm worried about the save data for all my games. if i get a new one will the progress from all my games still be there in the new DS? A friend of mine told me that game progress is saved on the game card and not the DS itself. Could anyone verify that please?

Yes, yes it will. See, unlike the PSP, or home consoles, the DS and 3DS cartridges have a built in battery, so all your saved data is saved to that specific card. So if you're to upgrade, you will still have your data. If you were to upgrade, I suggest the DSi or the 3DS.

Progress from old games are saved on the game cartridge or whatever, not on the DS itself.

You should be fine if you plan on getting a new one.

You won't lose anything. Just a get a new DS and enjoy your games :D

Get a Nintendo 3DS for much better graphics, quality, console sexiness, videos and heaps more.

especially the sexiness, I'm still praying for a DoA extreme game for 3D booby action!

i'm om eBay right now looking at a NDS Lite that's new for $109.99 and refurbished for $82.00. i'm thinking of getting the refurbished one because it's cheaper but will it work like it's a new one? And what other differences between new and refurbished?

Don't buy consoles on eBay. Buy it from a store. And don't get a DS lite. Their a waste of money now. 3DS all the way.

Get a 3DS since its backwards compatible (meaning you can play DS and 3DS games on it) and so that you could play Kingdom Hearts 3D when it releases for the system. :D

Get a 3DS so you can play both DS and 3DS games.

Thankfully, everything is saved right on the cartridge :)

Get a 3DS, $170 is well worth the money for it and I've seen some stores give you a gift card with it (I saw one in a flyer today where the gift card was $40!).

That's for North America.

I'm assuming keyblade101 lives in North America. Hopefully he does, because a 3DS might be too expensive in other countries.

Not in Australia. The normal price here is $250 but it's on special most of the time for either $199 or $200. And you can get it at the moment from Dick Smith for $189.

$189 in Australia actually might be a better deal than $170 in NA, considering you guys have a higher minimum wage...

Yeah, like in Brazil. Mine was around $300-$350, and it had adiscount; it was $400]

But isn't that in Reais? xD If you convert it to us dollars they should be about the same, I assume.

Hey Lizzie. Just to let you know i DO live in N.A.

P.S. i'm a girl.

Since you are in NA, do you know if you can trade in your broken DS at GameStop or not? If you can, I think you can get a discount on a 3DS (not sure how many dollars though)
