Vanitas was ressurected as shown in the trailer near the end, right? Vanitas is an Unversed, their leader, & wherever the unversed are, Vanitas is never far behind, & if he's comeback'ed in KH3D, does that mean the Unversed are returning too?

Actually, some people think that he's not been ressurected. They think that he's only 'an illusion' created by Yen Sid -- to test Sora and Riku as well. The Argument used to comprove this is that Vanitas isn't agressive as he was in BBS. But that's just a theory. It's pretty hard to say -- maybe he isn't an illusion -- but if he's not, there must be a reason for why he's been ressurected -- Maybe thanks to MX's magic powers? So far, it is little what we know -- Let's wait a bit more..

Maybe but remember on BBS when he said if ven destroys the keyblade then both of them will go to but ven went to sora's heart and that could mean he could go somewhere and sleep just like ven and return when ven does. Just a thought.

Seeing as though Vanitas remnant is canon, he will return. Though, I think that scene was meant to show that even though Young Xehanort was shown, it was Vanitas, and the reason why Young Xehanort is young is because of Ven(but Ven isn't tall lol).

Basically If ven can go to a long deep sleep and vanitas is ven but the dark side of him he can go though the same thing

Ven's heart found a way to Sora's heart... By that logic, wouldn't it be possible for Vanitas' heart to go to some person/ place and be 'sleeping just like Ven's heart did'.

Vanitas is a part of Ventus. You can't have one without the other. I thought that was why he was there. That and Master Xehanort did something. As for what he did, I don't know, but that man is unpredictable.

I agree that Vanitas has to still exist seeing as Ven's heart does, but I'm not sure about the illusion part.

 

I'm thinking he's tied to Young Xehanort more than anything, whatever role he plays in this.

I always think it's like this: When X-blade was destroyed, Vanitas falls sleep(and he waited Sora in RoS.)

We can maybe see Ventus too in DDD.

Vanitas is the the personification of Ven's darkness, and since you can't have light w/o darkness, I knew Vanitas had to come back in another KH game. As for why he can use the keyblade when he doesn't have a heart, I figure it was because he is the darkness of a keyblade weilder. Then again, we thought Roxas could use a keyblade because he was Sora's Nobody, but it was because he had Ven's heart in him, so in hindsight, it doesn't make sense, but we can pretend it does.

Well, from the looks of that cutscene, Vanitas seemed like an illusion. It didn't actually show him walking around like it did with young Xehanort.... and we didn't even get to see Sora's reaction,so.. We can't be fully sure if he's back. But if he is then I'm sure the unversed would be back too.

It wasn't because Vanitas was destroyed. It was because the X-Blade was destroyed, which was made from both of their hearts. This left Ven's heart damaged like it was at the start of the game, and he needed a host for his heart to live in.

tutti frutti. I always thought that Vanitas would return, especially since him and Ven are half of each other with darkness and light respectively. As for the trailer, for the time being, I believe that Vanitas is more of an illusion since we can't completely say on how he appeared in front of Sora, let along know Sora's reaction to seeing his doppleganger. Despite Ven being in a coma state, how Vanitas comes back can still take us by surprise. At least to me, I find that the easiest way to understand what goes on is expect the unexpected, which I believe is what Nomura stated in an interview someone posted on here for KH3D, though I forget exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if SE just pulled something out of a hat and went with it at this point.
