My opinion would have to be Kefka.

He's a sadistic bastard that has no pity or remorse of what he destroys or kills what-so-ever. He even traumatizes Terra repeatedly.

Kefka Palazzo is the best. Hands down.

infamous: having an exceedingly bad reputation. Sephiroth has got to be the most well know villain in the Final Fantasy. So whether or not i like a villain more, has nothing to do with the question.

I think the choices for FFX and FFXIII were a bit questionable (though they were, in the end, the TRUE antagonists, the MAIN antagonists were Seymour from FFX, and Galenth Dysley / Barthandelus from FFXIII), but either way,I'd have to go with Kefka.

Sephiorth because he's in Final Fantasy VII, which is the most popular and overrated game in the series.

The villains in I through VI hardly get any attention because the games are so old.

um lets see I have watched a full lets play of FF X,played a tiny bit of the begining of FF XII,though the game scares the heck outta me since its so tough,and I am currently playing FF 13,quiting FF 12 lol. Um Sephiroth since he is in KH and because of the way he looks in KH

I thought "Sephiroth" being created gave it away, but I guess not.

Sephiroth is too overrated, but only in my opinion.

Still enjoyed his battle in FF7 though.

Sephiroth is probably most infamous, because of how stupidly overrated FFVII is. I don't hate the game, I just hate how many people mindlessly worship it. As for my favorite, that's a different topic, even though some of the posters here seem to have gotten it confused with infamous.

I'd have to go with Vayne. Not only did he kill his own father to get to his position, but he kept his brother in harm's way and manipulated Gabranth and Basch.

 

Plus, he built a crazy flying fortress.

Sephiroth, you must be pretty badass to summon a meteor to destroy the planet.

Sephiroth does tend to be considered the greatest video game villain ever.
