Posted November 29, 200915 yr Why is it that in every KH game it seems like, that Sora or Roxas or somebody is always falling or drowning in water?

November 30, 200915 yr its an island wat else is supposed to fall threw sand?that would be cool though...I cant imagine god dang it! There was a scene in the KHII Intro where Sora, Riku, and Kairi were holding hands on the beach, and then Sora fell through, and when the sand cleared he was Roxas. So.. it's happened. Maybe it's a metaphor?
November 30, 200915 yr I think it's some kind of metaphor too. Idk what it means but it means something, lol.

November 30, 200915 yr Don't forget, in Days Xion had a journal entry where she said she had a dream of drowning in the ocean. I think the whole "falling/drowning in the ocean" is a motif that represents some sort of connection to Sora...well, put briefly anyway. "^^ If my actual speculation is true, then maybe in the BBS opening we'll see Ven falling in the ocean in a similar manner...
December 1, 200915 yr I have a theory about what the whole drowning thing means... It's based on what I've learned in AP Literature though, so I can't guarantee it's correctness... When an author makes a character drown and survive it's like a sort of baptism: the character is reborn. AKA, the character has gone through a major change, or is about to undergo a major change. At least that's what I think.

December 1, 200915 yr Well there are TWO definitions: The one Heart_XIII said and the fact that sailors, fishermen, and all of their wives thought of the Water as Darkness (which i have found that kin Kingdom Hearts it could mean either) in my opinion I REALLY think it's darkness since Riku was calling him in and as they both were consumed by the waves Riku was still holding out his hand, beckoning for him to go deeper into the darkness. Well Sora DID drown BUT it was saving Riku aka him becoming a heartless. And also Kairi was NOT in the water but beckoning Sora to come onto land aka her bringing him back to normal. DON'T FORGET PEOPLE! he fell it the water TWICE! so something is going to happen soon.......MUHAHAHAA!!! (i hope Sora thinks he's doing the right thing and going nuts *i personally have always wanted to see him kick Mikey's ass*)
December 1, 200915 yr Hmm... I like your idea better Digimoon. I never knew that fact. It's interesting. But yeah, that's probably what they were going for.
December 15, 200915 yr In many cases such as in Silent Hill, (it's really good for symbolistic crap) you see, the Sheperd family's theme of murder was....something to do with water....anywhoz, when the wrong child (Josh) was drowned, darkness spread through the neighboring towns (the ones NEXT TO silent hill) it can also mean an outbreak of chaos (such as a flood or hurricane) and also symbolize war or withdrawl
