The Pete in Kingdom Hearts is made out to be more of a comical sort of villain, who's acts of evil are presented more as mischevious skullduggery than actual villainy. While his presence in the game is still potent, I do feel that the character is made almost a farcical at times, especially when in the same class as other Disney Villains such as Malificient. I wonder how the games would change if Pete was to take on a more serious, threatening role, such as he did in some of the older cartoons, most notably in The Prince and the Pauper. On the flip side, of course, Kingdom Hearts has an abundance of serious, brooding villains, and perhaps the comic relief that Pete provides is necessary in order to keep the light hearted spirit of the game up.
Thoughts and comments on whether Pete is okay as he is ( a sort of lovable wannabe villain), or if he might have been better had he been portrayed as more potently threatening.
