I wanna be seen! Please have it up tomorrow because I want to be seen in the story! I wonder how accurate you'll make me?

Part IX

Apprentice sucked in a sharp breath and instinctively took a step back, causing her to collide against Lu Xun's powerful chest. The dawning feeling of horror along with the awkwardness initially following made the thoughts lodged within Apprentice's cranium completely jumbled and incomprehensible. As her wide cerulean eyes took in the rainbow starburst, it seemed to spread its grasp over the sky, quite literally by the second. It was enormous, almost like those ethereal pictures of Saturn or the Moon when their proximity was very near that of Earth's.

Apprentice whipped around, her hair flying in all directions. "We have to go. We have to warn them."

Lu, his face grim and understanding, nodded. His own blue eyes were fearful as he laid them on the starburst. Not for fear for himself but fear for something else.

Apprentice was patiently waiting for him at the end of the branch, looking down her eyes clouded by a raging storm. "I have the mind to jump," she announced when he came to stand beside her.

Lu offered her his hand, his expression solumn. Intertwining her fingers with his, Apprentice gave a nod.

Gathering momentum, the both of them plunged downwards. The wind roared in their ears and their eyes watered. Apprentice barely heard Lu's warning when he told her to prepare herself for their landing. The ground below seemed to enlarge as quickly as someone had placed a large magnifying glass over it. This trip was the very personification of thrill and terror. Apprentice bent her knees, preparing for the incoming impact. With bated breath, she waited attentively. Rather than her body shuddering from the touch of the durable ground, the air was knocked out of her and her lungs felt the surge of heat Apprentice could only describe as red hot. She felt oddly suspended and extremely light at the same time. Forgetting the seriousness of the situation, Apprentice was amazed. Looking up to find her hand still in Lu's, she gawked at was he was doing. He was flying. Lu was legitimately performing aerodynamics in the air while holding onto her at the same time.

"How are you doing that?!" she yelled with awe.

"Terra's magic!" he hollered back. "Much more convenient than jumping or running, don't you think?"

Apprentice could respond only with a mixed look of bemusement and wonder when she gazed at the world that she created. The trees were the most gorgeous and healthy trees she had ever seen. The forest went on and on, never ending as it reached the horizon. The sun was hidden behind the large obstruction that took over the sky. Coming to her senses she shook her head. Don't forget your purpose, Apprentice told herself.

Before Apprentice could register it, Lu swooped over a cluster of trees. Below them, there were flashing lights, explosions and large CRACKs and BANGs. For a moment, Apprentice was under the impression that they would float slowly down. That is, until Apprentice lost wind underneath of her and soon green was all over her field of vision. The panic accompanying the feeling of falling just as awful as Apprentice imagined it. Twigs scratched, branches bruised and leaves stuck to the tattered mess that was her hair. But she couldn't shake off the bizarre feeling of enjoyment that she got out of the fall, even if it hurt like hell.

With a shriek, she landed on top of AnsemTheWise and Leaxel who were back to back and in the middle of fighting.

"Apprentice!?"

She frowned when aqua and emerald eyes gazed at her face. Second by second, faces belonging to Lightning Farron and Lea swam into focus and Apprentice sat bolt straight; the deep scratches and large bruises covering her body were slowly returning to the normally monotonous and glowing skin she usually had.

"Are you alright?" asked Ansem, helping her stand.

Apprentice dragged a hand roughly through her hair, only to find it gnarling endlessly around her fingers. She cursed a string of very vulgar curses at high volume. Ansem and Lea waited patiently for her to be done. "Where is he?!" she spat. "Where's Lu Xun?"

Lea pointed a leather-clad arm in the right direction. She saw Lu wandering among the throng, his scouring everywhere for her. He was completely unharmed save for his ruffled hair. Once Apprentice had been spotted, he looked her over for any injuries and saw what was the sad excuse of her hair. Even at that very distance, her glower was sending off sparks. Lu visibly cringed as she stalked in his direction. "Swear to me you will practice flying any chance you get and don't you dare use me as test subject!"

Lu opened his mouth, preparing to apologize until Kaiso and Lexi stepped away from their current practice session; trying their utmost not to gawk. "What happened to your hair?"

Apprentice gazed at Lu pointedly, who raised his hands placatingly. "Lu had a small malfunction with his new powers. Anyways, that's not important. Where's DChiuch?"

Completely ignoring her words, Lexi stepped forward to pull out a leaf from her hair and Kaiso ruggedly untangled one of the many knotted locks of midnight hair. "I don't the word 'mess' describes this," said Lexi.

"Guys," Apprentice sighed exasperatedly. "We need to talk to Daniel."

"Apprentice, aren't you going to do anything about your hair?"

"My hair isn't important. The information Lu and I have is."

"When you put it that way," Kaiso said absentmindedly. She began to untangle Apprentice's hair. "Lu Xun, why don't you go tell Danne whatever Apprentice is fussing about?"

The entire time this debacle was happening, Lu stared at the three of them with a strange expression on his face. Apprentice's eyes were imploring, her anger forgotten. She winced as Lexi wrenched on one of her knots.

"Alright," Lu nodded, turning to leave until he stopped himself. "I really am sorry."

Apprentice considered him before waving him off. "It's fine. Go find Danne. It's more important than me and my hair."

Inclining his head, Lu disappeared among the throng of members to search for the King. It was initially awkward, not speaking to Kaiso or Lexi as they worked on her hair aside the winces and noises she made when they tugged on a knot too hard. And Apprentice's ocean coloured eyes never strayed from Kaiso's chest, which seemed to jut into her field of vision. Kaiso simply smiled as if she knew how terrible a distraction her bosom was and didn't see anything wrong with it.

Apprentice cleared her throat meaningfully. "Your cleavage is distracting. Can't you cover it up?"

Kaiso's following tone was completely serious. "My bosom is a work of art. Never question that."

"It's so. . . ." Apprentice made a sound that could simply not be expressed in words.

"That's the point," Lexi inserted, done with the back of Apprentice's head moved on to the side. "Are you that distracted by cleavage?"

"I am distracted by everybody's cleavage," Apprentice muttered. "It has nothing to do with sexual attraction, I promise you."

Lexi raised an eyebrow, her fingers threading through newly straightened out hair.

"I'm serious!"

"If you say so," Lexi murmured with a smile.

It was at this moment that Apprentice made notice of Golden and Shana holding hands, taking a walk, holding hands and gazes with their faces practically glowing. She took one look at them and thought, Shoujo manga. They were so lovey-dovey, it was almost sickening to look at. Well, well, well. It was a while before they noticed Apprentice and hastened to meet her.

"Apprentice!" Shana squealed, dragging Golden along with her. "Apprentice, we have the greatest news-" Shana stilled, her eyes rounding at the good look she got of Apprentice. "Why are Kaiso and Think Pink doing your hair?"

Apprentice pressed her lips together. "Lu Xun had a go at flying."

"That went well," Golden remarked taking in the sight.

"All done!" announced Lexi, fanning out Apprentice's newly straightened hair. It wasn't perfect but it would do.

Kaiso stepped back and a smile flirted with her lips. "Any moment, Danne will make an announcement. You'd best be prepared for what comes next."

Apprentice's face scrunched into a frown. "How do you know?"

Like a pistol shot skyward, a voice familiar to them all was raised; calling forth all members. Apprentice shot Kaiso a look to which she simply winked. Among the gathering, Aaron was easy to make out, tall and brooding as ever and there DChiuch, this time garbed in a linen dress shirt, a blue silk shoulder cape attached to it with black skin tight trousers and boots. The whole effect was very elegant and impressive, and made him look like a swashbuckling rogue. Apprentice half expected him to pull out a rapier and challenge someone to a duel with the effect he was making. His cerulean eyes traveled over the crowd and when he found Apprentice, beckoned her with his eyes to join him. Flanking him were the mods, every member of the Website Team and the ten chosen Keyblade wielders, their appearance that of an abnormally large posse. The buzzing finally came to end. To distract herself from being anxious, Apprentice looked at familiar faces.

"The borders of the site have been breached," Daniel finally spoke, his voice thundering across the expanse of the forest. Shock was plastered onto every member's face, save for Apprentice and Lu. "Battle plans are crucial at this point and we need to form them quickly." He paused, taking a deep breath. "Ivan, Koko, Kaiso, Cella and Cricket will head the base of operations. They will direct the tide of battle and if they give you orders, you must obey.

"We will all be positioned on selected mountains. Staff members will provide teleportation to these locations. When the bots attack, all ten chosen Keyblade wielders will strike first. Any remaining Keyblade wielders will accompany and assist them. Anyone who is not a Keyblade wielder with offensive abilities will be under my and Aaron's wing. After the recreation of Salvation, we will form an army and advance. Those with non-offensive abilities or with no powers at all, will accompany JTD95 and goldpanner. We've created a sanctuary for you that will be barrier protected. If there's any need of you, one of the mods will call for you."

The hand of an armored Aqua went up. "Where is this 'sanctuary'?" Apprentice recognized her as Rixku.

Danne turned to Apprentice. Understanding now what she was in front for, Apprentice closed her eyes and searched for that tether she always felt tighten whenever she made use of her power. Instantly, Apprentice was bringing things back to life around her. Up rose colossal towers of rock and titanic cumulus that cloaked everyone in shadow. Sunshine brightened the sky with a vibrancy only seen in spring and summer. A blast of wind shoved them all to the ground and from what was the forest floor, soft chartreuse grass flourished. Inhaling, you feel the energy that was being created from the life of nature around her. Apprentice felt extremely alive. One thing remained unchanged however and that was the rainbow starburst staining the sky.

She felt the barrier as clearly as if it were something on her skin. It seemed to be the other side of a mountain that was suspiciously similar to Castle Mountain. She pointed. "It's over there. I'll let you know it's the size of a cathedral."

Daniel's satisfied smile was huge. "Any questions?"

Rixku raised her hand again. "What happens when the battle is over?"

DChiuch gave this a bit of thought before answering. "I will most likely send you all back to reality until I deem it fit to recreate the scape once again."

This seem to unsettle a lot of members, judging from the look on their faces. During the course of the time she spent here, Apprentice nearly forgot about reality and the thought frightened her. Interrupting her thought train, a strange sound emitted from above them where the starburst lay. It wasn't thunder exactly but if you mixed thunder with the sound of cracking marble, that sound was the perfect representation. Murmurs rocked the throng and there were worried looks on the posse's faces.

Now tense, Daniel brought the crowd's attention back to him. "Let's get started, shall we?"

Immediately, the site began to move and before she and DChiuch were separated, Apprentice asked him where she would have to go. He told her to go with the mods and she pointed at Ivan, who was beckoning her forward. Among the moving bodies, she could make out Shana and Golden embracing tightly before leaving with their respective parties. As Apprentice left to go with the mods, she crashed into Lu Xun who prevented her from tumbling by grasping her shoulders.

Recovering, Apprentice huffed but didn't remove Lu's he of her. "It's always some form of sabotage isn't it?"

Lu smiled but there was an anxious quality to his smile.

"Lu, is something wrong?"

Too quick for her eye to catch, Apprentice sensed rather than saw Lu bend and press a light kiss to her temple. It was over as quickly as it began but it did not stop the glazed and flushed look overcoming Apprentice. "I just needed to do that before it was too late," he murmured.

"Alright, loverbird," Koko slipped her arm in Apprentice's and snatched her Lu's grasp. "Time to go." She dragged Apprentice to what looked like a circular floating pod.

"He-he just-" Apprentice stuttered, pointing at him dumbly as she and Koko mounted onto the pod.

"Yes, he did," Koko responded with the tone one might use with a three year old. "Fancy that."

In a blink of brightness, Apprentice found herself atop the mountain facing the starburst who was now the size of Jupiter. A few meters away stood Cricket, Ivan, Cella and Kaiso, their hair whipping in the wind. It gave Apprentice the illusion of warrior princesses. Koko snapped her fingers and immediately the pod underneath them dispersed and the both of them collapsed on surprisingly steady ground.

"You're okay, Apprentice," Koko ushered. "It's going to happen in a minute, second at the least."

"What is?" she inquired, finally collecting herself.

"The break in," Ivan answered as they approached the four.

With a sickening echo, the same thunderous sound as before omitted across the mountain side and vibrated deep into Apprentice's bones. She was certain everyone felt it too. The sound became louder and louder as if were taking control of the mind. When Apprentice could take no more, the starburst exploded. She couldn't tell what exactly, whether it was darkness, light or a multitude of colours. It stained the daytime to an abyssal blue. All she knew was horrible it was and how she despairing over how to stop it. It was often wondered throughout history what the beginning of war was like when it happened. Under different circumstances it was but it was here among the virtual and dream scale that a battle birthed.

I changed Daniel's outfit because I was really I unsatisfied with the last one and in this he is just plain kewl.

As for Lupprentice, I hope you guys don't mind I put more. It'll most likely stop here.

This is also the story's battle theme:

Ignore their furry outfits and 0:33 this guy's hair and clothes. Just concentrate on the epic music and awesome dance.

I'll be stopping with the couples and all. I had a lot of writer's blocks writing this part, that's probably why. I'm also trying to not make this revolve around me and I'm finding that challenging.

You'll be featured in Part X.

  • Author

Sometime in May or once all the cutscenes of Dream Drop Distance are uploaded and I've watched them all, I think I'll be rewriting some parts in Perchance to Dream. By doing that, I'll removing the romance. Quite frankly, this was supposed to be a story about the members, not their love lives and (no offense intended toward Golden and Shana) the romance made everything stupid and really self-absorbed. There are only a few parts left to write before the story is over so it can't be helped at this point. But henceforth, count the couples made so far non-existent.

More me. This story will die without me mentioned.
