Lu Xun 2,069 Posted June 4, 2012 Nice... Hope a KH game gets released on it because then I'll probably buy it
NamineRose 28 Posted June 4, 2012 I might try to convince my parents, they both love the Wii and I think it would be a better gaming system.
Tails 6,692 Posted June 5, 2012 Nintendo has revealed, via their Japanese site, that the Wii U GamePad takes a lengthy 2.5 hours to fully charge, and that it will work for 3-5 hours before it needs recharging again. Thankfully it can be charged up via the console, so batteries won’t be an issue this time around.
CrownKeeper13 688 Posted June 5, 2012 On the tour of the gamepad, on the bottom of it I saw metal connectors that look basically identical to the ones on the 3DS, so i have a feeling the Wii U will have a charging cradle.
rikufan25 170 Posted June 5, 2012 Wish it was longer, but I can deal with it. 1 burnsideking24 reacted to this
Rob 5,571 Posted June 5, 2012 This was expected.
NamineRose 28 Posted June 5, 2012 Being able to charge it on the consul is good, and the battery life isn't bad at all since it is a large device that involves a lot of interactions.
WakingDawn96 1,166 Posted June 5, 2012 I can deal with that time, it will let me take a break before I continue playing. Does anyone know when this is supposed to come out?
Wuver 920 Posted June 5, 2012 Not bad for the battery duration.

Elijah Gravenhorst 480 Posted June 5, 2012 I guess thats ok but I wish there was a charging cord so you could play while it charges.
lizzie1238 538 Posted June 5, 2012 I guess thats ok but I wish there was a charging cord so you could play while it charges. You can! I think it works with a 3DS adapter (which I'm assuming the Wii U will come with) so you can easily charge it! Much better than using just regular batteries. lizzie1238 538 Posted June 6, 2012 Nintendo was asked this question during their develop roundtable at E3. They responded by saying: "In North America, Wii Sports was a pack-in. In Japan, it was not. Even though it's the same concept, it doesn't necessarily mean the same result." "Honestly, I don't know what will happen." That said, they continued to push the similarities between NintendoLand and Wii U, so it seems quite possible. (from http://live.theverge.com/e3-2012-nintendo-wii-u-developer-discussion/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter) What do you guys think? This game looks like a fun and interesting way to show off the Wii U's features and unite several Nintendo franchises together, so I'd love to get it. However, I don't know if I'd be willing to spend $60 for something like this. I really think that it should come with the Wii U, and like Wii Sports, it would do a great job of showing Wii U purchasers what their new system can do. WakingDawn96 1,166 Posted June 6, 2012 I think it should come with it so I dont have to buy it by itself and use money somewhere else. This is a little off-topic, but does anyone know when WiiU is coming out?

This is a little off-topic, but does anyone know when WiiU is coming out? Nintendo has said "this holiday." We have yet to get an exact date though. I'm guessing it will come out in November or December.
Hei 3,233 Posted June 6, 2012 Honestly, I hoping it comes bundled with Pikmin 3. That game is stunning, and its going to be awesome. Nintendoand looks interesting though, I just hope its not like every party game that's out there.

Okay, I just need to know if it will be a Christmas or Birthday gift. This year, I have to get both a WiiU and PS3.
Rob 5,571 Posted June 6, 2012 It depends on if they think NA will like it.
TheOriginalBob 110 Posted June 8, 2012 I think thats a fair shout, everyone wanted to check out this new motion controller game style when the Wii came out and Wii-sports did a fine job demonstrating it. Maybe Nintendoland will do the same for the Wii-U. I can't see myself buying the game seperately.
Tails 6,692 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed to Kotaku that Wii U will feature friend codes. Reggie says that the Wii U friend codes will be a simplified version of what’s available on Wii and Nintendo 3DS. He believes that gamers will be happy with the changes that have been implemented, but he wouldn’t divulge any additional information. “There are friend codes, but it’s not the existing friend code system. What do I mean by that? Here’s what I mean: you will be able to identify people as friends and have a certain level of interaction vs. a different level of interaction for the more general population. The method by which you identify someone as a friend is a lot simpler than what’s happening today with Friend Codes.” (He declined to lay out the new Wii U friend code program just yet.) Also, the Wii U will feature an achievement system. When speaking with Kotaku, Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed that Wii U will have system-level achievements like the Nintendo 3DS and its Mii Plaza Accomplishments. Fils-Aime said that Nintendo is giving developers the choice of whether they want to implement an achievement system in their games. In other words, a Wii U game is not required to feature a system of achievements. Edited June 11, 2012 by Tails

baylaust 2,531 Posted June 11, 2012 The only way to fix friend codes is to destroy them. They were such a pain to deal with.
