So, we were looking in the Hughes (That's my last name) genealogy, and found out today that I am related to Pocahontas! It turns out, My great times (how knows how many times) great grandfather, Caleb Hughes (Thats my Name as well! There was alot of Caleb's and Thomas's in out family) married Opechanacanough Powhatan's (A.K.A Pocahontas's Father) granddaughter! And that's on my fathers side!

On my mothers side, I am related to Jesse James, The notorious train robber! He is my great aunt ethals greatXsomething uncle! I don't have alot of information on how he got related to us, but this is still an amazing find!

Cool! And I'm related to Adam and Eve.

Yeah, well I'm related to Noah :P

And I'm closest descendant of Doc Holliday, John Wilkes Booth (by marriage; not blood, thank God), and Martin Luther. It's a wonder I'm not bipolar with that blood line.

That is cool, I wonder who I am related to, I am sure I am related to Homo Sapiens :D lol fail.

I'm related to a pair of brothers that came over on the Mayflower and founded the area where Portsmouth now is. They even have an avenue named after them, Woodbury Ave. There's even a Woodbury Castle in England near Exeter, though not sure if it's the same family or not.

Well, mainly it is that Regular Jews do not believe that Christ was the messiah, and do not celebrate birthday's or any earth holiday, but there are some who are Jews, but believe in Christ, like myself, called Judaic Christians. I do celebrate Christmas, but not because it

Not because it what? is Jesus' birthday? Kinda weird if you think christ aka Jesus was the messiah, but that isn't the reason you celebrate Christmas.

Ah, man. I wish I knew who I was related to!! I think I might be part German in one way or another. Because my grandmother and my great grandmother spoke German a lot. It's SO cool to figure that type of stuff out!!

Also, my great great grandfather gave my great great grandmother a necklace for their anniversary or something. My great great grandmother then said that she wanted all of her decedents to where that necklace at their wedding. My mom said that tradition kind of stopped with my older sister 'cause my older sister didn't want to and said it was "old fashioned". C'mon, people, really?? That's so disrespectful! I'm not letting it stop there! I'm going to wear it to MY wedding. It's just so cool. I don't even care if it's rusty! xD

Woah, no way! Me too!

Sup cuz!

Just because we celebrate his birth on Christmas day doesn't mean it was the actual day he was born. But I like to pretend it is, it makes it more special.

You just reminded me,I got the two confused! We celebrate his birthday, but that doesn't mean it was the day he was BORN! Thank you for reminding me xD.

This is a good free website for finding out some details on family history. You will probably need to know a little bit before hand though and you are going to need to filter the search results unless you want to search forever.

Also you are probably going to need to search the name of someone who lived in the US around the 1920s to 1940s as almost all the data is based off of the 1930 census.

Based on the information I got and some beforehand knowledge my Fathers side of the family moved to America to avoid persecution caused by those damn soviets during the Russian Revolution.

According to a story on my Mom's side, a distant family member was apparently one of the tribals that participated in the killing of Spanish explorer Magellen.

No direct connections to anyone famous though. I'm apparently related to Ghengis Khan but so are millions of other people so there you go.

We believe he was most likely born somewhere around March. The reason why the celebrations managed to get to December was because Emporer Julius Ceasar decided to change the months of the calander around.

That's super cool. 8D I loved Pochahontas as a little kid.

I found out I was related General Patton and I was like

I never searched who I'm related to.

I might end up knowing things I didn't want to.

That's cool! I actually happen to be related to Daniel Boone myself!
