i'm still wondering whhy they didn't arrest the guy yet.

I heard also this was some sort of law, something about using right of defense or something when a person feels threatened. Apparently the unarmed boy was threatening the life of the officer, and law is protecting that guys arse. Correct me if im wrong.. But either way a kid is dead now.

No, he wasn't threatened at all. All the kid was doing was walking home from school or something. The guys excuse was "He had his hood up" and because that kid had his hood up, he thought he was shady and shot him. All they found in his bag was a drink (like soda or something) and candy. Thats all the kid had. He had NO RIGHT to shoot that kid. I feel so bad.

and he never ate those skittles.....

Why would they shoot an innocent person? He didn't get his last chance to eat sweets, that is a waste of life.

I live not to far from the city where this happened. It is unbelievable. I really hope justice will prevail.

Wow! Just firetrucking wow! I live 25 minutes away from Union Square. THIS is needless! This is just a way to get away with crime! I hate NYPD!

That guy is a racist. He's been known for reporting blacks for suspicious activity for no reason. He's done it 46 times since January of last year. Treyvon just walked home after getting some iced tea and skittles. Treyvon's girlfriend also reported she heard screams that sounded like cries for help. Zimmerman also stated he saw Treyvon with his hands in his pockets (stupid). Also, how is Zimmerman shooting him considered self defense if he was following him and if the kid was totally un-armed?

I'm going to play devil's advocate here for a moment guys. The police can't reveal what really happened and all of the evidence yet, but when they found the man who attacked Trayvon, he had a blow to the head and was bleeding profusely. This suggests Trayvon fought him. Now, of course, we don't know which of the two started the altercation, but there is always the possibility that Trayvon got sick of being followed and attacked that man.

I agree that Trayvon was wrongly murdered and I think the guy chasing him was a psychotic racist, but you do have to consider every possibility.

God, it's like the 60's all over again. Where police get to abuse Blacks however they want and others won't care.

It isn't fair to say others don't care. If they didn't, why are we hearing about it? Why are there protests all over the nation? I don't think that's the case at all. Police have occasionally bumbled cases for every race.

i signed the petition anyway the reason that they haven't arrest that guy is cuz not enough evidence yes they know he shot the trayvon but the reason they cant bring him in is that in Florida they have a law saying if ur in danger u can use self defence even lethal self defence but the problem with this is no one saw if trayvon had attack him or not attacked him and also i forget if it in the bill of rights or whatever but if u bring in a guy for murder or some other crime and the jury thinks he's innocent u cant bring that guy back into trial for the same crime and basicly why they haven't brought that guy in. I mean i want justice for this kid to but if we rush this then not present enough evidence we'll have to come up with some other crime to bring this in again.

and some weed residue (meaning he had weed but did something with it )

Actually the found no weed residue on him at all when they found him dead.

He had been suspended from school for ten days because they found the weed residue in his backpack. It was days before the shooting, though.

I also signed the petition. I'm so angry about this, that a murderer is walking free and nothing has been done yet! I hope justice is served soon and that Trayvon's family won't have to go through the pain of losing their son and not having justice. Though their son can never come back - God rest his soul - they deserve justice for what has been done to him. To lose someone you love like this is awful. But to have the perpetrator go free is even worse. WEAR HOODS WITH PRIDE!!!
