May 10, 201213 yr Good for him. This is, though, like Fred pointed out earlier, not even up to him. If it goes through the houses and wins, then he can legalize it. He's really not doing anything. This really doesn't win him any points with me. This is one of those years where both of the candidates suck anyway. I'm glad I'm not old enough to vote, because I think they both suck and I wouldn't want to help either of them.
May 10, 201213 yr 8D LMAO, i'm watching this on the news right now, go Obama, go!! .. I bet Bulgaria's president will never let gays marry legally.
May 10, 201213 yr You should be reading the comments in that article. People are bashing him with very...hurtful words...
May 10, 201213 yr That's just fine and dandy, but he hasn't actually done anything. In fact, all he's done is state his opinion. Just because he states an opinion doesn't mean all of a sudden gay marriage is legalized. And if he had said this just a few days before North Carolina voted to ban gay marriage, then maybe he would have (and this is only speculation) changed some of the voter's minds about it. Then he would have been actually doing something, instead of just spouting from the mouth like every other politician. Also, I don't think this is any coincidense that he's said this in an election year and that he's said it just a short time before he's going to a couple of events to get more money for his campaign that just so happen to be held by Gay Activist groups, one's being held by Ricky Martin. And like Lexi said, I think both candidates this year are bad. I think Romney's a political snake. /endrant
May 10, 201213 yr Heard about this, I'm glad he did it. And of course he said this because it is an election year, but that doesn't mean he doesn't mean it. Yeah, it is going to get him some points with people who support Gay Rights (is that even the right term? I really don't keep up with this stuff), but he also pretty much loses every homophobe and people who disagree with Gay marriage for other reasons. But yeah, Obama didn't even need to say this to have my vote (metaphorically speaking, I can't legally vote), his opposition is Romney. >_> Well, that and I agree with his party/policies.
