A mystery 346 Posted May 27, 2012 If you like comedies I would reccommend watching Ouran High. If you enjoy slice of life shows I would reccommend watching Bamboo Blade. TheApprenticeofKingMickey 3,689 Posted May 27, 2012 (edited) Hi everyone! Ok so I want to watch a new anime but I need help. Does anyone hav any ideas? My two fav animes are Shakugan No Shana and Shugo Chara! Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood My advice is to not watch the first season as it has so many plotholes and is completely different from the manga. Brotherhood is much more faithful to the manga and the animation is amazing. Both the English and Japanese dubs are good. Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion This has to be the best anime I've ever seen. Imo, the English dub is better than the Japanese one. It was my first actual anime other than the kiddy stuff like Pokemon. That's how I learned about Shakugan No Shana!

I just watched the first episode of both last night, and Brotherhood doesn't seem to be a sequel. I also read the first chapter of the manga once and (from what I recall) the first episode of Brotherhood doesn't seem to be anything like it. And for my recommendation, I haven't watched many Anime shows, but I enjoy Hetalia. And I'm not sure if you'd consider this an Anime because it's American-made, but Avatar: The Last Airbender is great, along with its sequel The Legend of Korra. FMA follows the manga half way then it has its own original story because the manga wasn't finished. FMA: B follows the manga fully because the manga is finished. 1 TheApprenticeofKingMickey reacted to this

It's the complete factual and faithful animated adaption of the FMA manga. The first season started off similarly but went in a completely different direction. It has a totally different story of its own, one I greatly disliked for its own made up characters and plotholes. Brotherhood and the manga is so much better because it is carefully planned out and the mangaka, Hiromu Arakawa did a great job of paying homage to actual alchemy, many different mythologies and real life events that were the basis for several things in the manga/Brotherhood. The plot is very concrete and the characters are very believable and realistic. It was so well done that it became a mythology of its own which is why the story is so great. Xenidal 36 Posted May 27, 2012 Never heard of Shakugan No Shana or Shugo Chara so I can't make recommendations based on what you like... but I can say what I like. And that is: - YuYu Hakusho (my personal favourite) - Soul Eater - Ouran High School Host Club - Death Note (not one of my favourites but it is interesting... although I've only read the manga and have never seen the actual anime) - Chobits (overall I thought it was good but it did have a lot of "adult" references (i.e. porn... but not actually showing the porn) and I didn't care for that sort of stuff one bit) - Studio Ghibli films... I've seen nearly all of them and they've all been great. Typically I like shounen... I also really liked the early Yu-Gi-Oh! manga (which is way more interesting than anything in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime unless you count the unreleased Japanese first series)
kalnet 1,198 Posted May 27, 2012 I will recommend the same anime shows like what I've recommended to others before. Inserting spoiler for anime videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dr6xsBvT4Kk (note : You can practically watch the entire 'Tora Dora' episodes on youtube. You only need to watch the 1st episode that was given in the info from this video's description.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI99Wjba8H4 (note : The anime ends half-way and you need to continue the series by reading the manga.) (note : The only anime show I'm currently watching. Its a kids show I know. Don't judge me.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqsZ2aZiK2A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7raKQ-bqxI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcUZ8dGgYEg (note : This anime is where I first discovered BoA's songs and later realized she was a korean singer.) There are actually more anime shows I can recommend but everyone here in this thread has already recommend the best ones around.
