Posted June 3, 201213 yr I just got a job at McDonalds and have worked my first shift. Now I want everyone who has a job to just post on how long you've had it and what your first day was like! Thanks!
June 3, 201213 yr I currently work at Walgreens and have worked there for almost 2 years. It has its advantages and disadvantages. I started there as a cashier and I am currently alternating between the front register and the photo department. I do very well at my job, considering that despite hours having been cut, because Walgreens is losing money, I barely lost any hours and nearly work 40 hours a week. I am told by many of the co-workers that they wouldn't be surprised or upset if I eventually got some kind of management position. Originally, management staff were the only ones that were allowed to give refunds. Well, it was eventually changed so that other staff could, as well, but my store manager didn't want EVERYONE to be able to do it, since he doesn't trust some of the employees with that kind of responsibility. I'm pretty sure that I was the first employee, other than management, that was told about this and I am one of the few employees, beneath management that can give refunds. I get along with all of my co-workers, but one or two of them. But, only because they're both controlling and kind of selfish. One of them far more than the other and the worst part is that she is one of the two assistant managers. But, we at least get along far better than we use to. Edited June 3, 201213 yr by Ertyx
June 3, 201213 yr My first job was being a TA at a French elementary school. It was a work placement I went through. I was supposed to help the kids with their English and French. It was pretty stressful at first because it was my first job. I felt like I was going to mess up and be terrible. Turns out I was really, in the staff's words, "exceptional" at it. In the end, I did well even if I often fumbled socially. Edited June 3, 201213 yr by TheApprenticeofKingMickey
June 3, 201213 yr I had a job at McDonald's. And it was horrible. Quit after 2 months. First day was horrible because of that extremely long training video... the second day was probably pretty good. But the job got boring real fast (especially since it's... you know... like grunt work, stuff that they could just have a robot do...) That, and the fact that the managers (who were not too intellignet themselves) were constantly barking orders... and the restaurant itself was not all that sanitary (and I really don't want to be selling dirty food). Those three things gave me no choice but to quit.
June 3, 201213 yr tutti frutti. Much like what Xenidal said, I worked at prison (McDonalds) some people call a restaurant and hated every minute of it, though I won't say how long I was there. But if I were you, unless you absolutely need the money for whatever reason, quit, or at the very least get out of there as soon as possible. If you are there long enough, you will find out the hard way what it's like. Xenidal pretty much stated a general idea of what I went through.
June 3, 201213 yr Dishwashing at Ruby Tuesdays .. freaking blowed, I made like $8 an hour to do like 1000 dishes a night while the waiters/waitresses ate and flirted with each other for 2x more than I made in tips, plus I had to stay till like 1:30 in the morning and clean all their f*ck'in messes while they got to leave at like 10. Story of my ex-life lol, I worked at a chinese food restaurant as a dishwashing, I bought my first ever laptop with the cash. Now I would probably a little bit more cash considering I finished college. I am just waiting papers so I can a test and then if I pass it I'll be a registered nurse
June 3, 201213 yr I work at a store called ICING. It's a very girly store and we sell jewelry, accessories, handbags, sandals, cosmetics, hats, scarves, novelties, and I pierce ears.. stuff like that. I'm the Assistant Manager. I love it, but it's a LOT of work. I have to open and close, know ALL of the company policies and procedures, have to know every department and its number and codes, do ear piercings, know all of the paperwork and pretty much do what the Manager does and know what she knows because Im her Assistant, while helping out "guests" and running the cashier. When she's not there, I'm the on-site manager. I work full time and it's a lot of work/responsibility, but I like it a lot. It gets really busy in the store which makes the day go by super fast
June 3, 201213 yr I've been a home nurse for a patient with CP for two years now. I basically live my life and his at the same time for five days a week, so I'm frickin' exhausted. But I'm the kind of person who finds satisfaction in helping others, which is why I became a nurse to begin with.
June 3, 201213 yr Back in my day, I couldn't get a job, so I thought of the next best thing......being a pimp. I got a couple of female associates together that were not so lady-like, and told them about my plan to make money. They agreed that I would bring them the clients and they would work their magic(dont worry, they weren't jailbait). We made about $1000 every 2 weeks. After 4 months, we had to stop because I was going away to college(school was more important). I was the rich guy on the block known as "A pimp name Rob." Those were the days. *sniff*

June 3, 201213 yr Can I quit my job and join your business? I'd love for you to join, but as you may know, I'm 99 years old. I've decided to dedicate the rest of my remaining life to KH. You sir, have made my day. You are very welcome Tails. I enjoy telling my life stories to people.
