Does any particular episode of a show or part of a movie always make you emotional?

Posted

I was watching Doctor Who a few minutes ago, and the question came to me: am I the only one who always gets emotional at a particular part of a TV episode or movie?

For instance, the Doctor Who episode "The Girl In The Fireplace" always makes me want to cry at the end.

Yeah, "Journey's End" was definitely sad. I also cried during "End of Time"... in the theater where I was watching it. But so was everyone else, so it was good.

The Return of the King. After the Ring has been destroyed, and Frodo and Sam are on the side of Mount Doom as it erupts. There's so much going on in that scene. Frodo is finally able to remember what the Shire looks like: the world around him explodes, his finger has just been torn off, and he's undergone incredible mental scarring, but in spite of everything miserable, he can at least remember the things that made him happy again. Sam comes to grips with the fact that they're probably going to die now, and that he's probably not going to be able to see Rosey one more time: Sam's optimism and drive to see things through is what has kept the two going for so long, and he's only now just run out of hope. And then the killer: "I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee. Here at the end of all things." These are two guys who have been to Hell, and have nothing left to look forward too, but at least they have their friendship. That's as sincere an emotion as you're going to get, coming from someone who has nothing left and no hope of living past this.

It's pathos, sincerity, introspection, and finding out what is truly good when there's nothing left to hope for.

If we're adding games, then I need to put the end of Birth by Sleep and crying for the entirety of the last two missions in Days to my list.

Ending to Death Note

FMAB Where Edward finds Alphonse's body at the gates.

The ending to Click

The ending to Toy Story 3

Ending to inFAMOUS 2 (the good ending not bad)

Show: "The Legend of Korra" The ENTIRE last episode was a roller coaster of emotions for me.. but the scene that got me so depressed, that I actually couldn't smile all day, was in the episode before it where (Spoiler Alert) my FAVORITE character, Lin Bei Fong, Loses her Bending. I cried for the first time in about 10 months...

Movie: That's a hard one.. there are countless movies that moved me.. but if I had to choose the best., it was probably the movie "Crash". I felt every emotion possible during that movie...

Episode 8 onwards of Legend of Korra were an emotional roller coaster, but in the best way. Failsafe from Young Justice just pissed me off.

As for movies, Lotso's flashback in Toy Story 3 almost made me cry. I also cried at the end of Marley and Me, and I don't even like dogs. The Avengers was the first time where going to the movies felt more like an experience than just something to do because you're bored.

the episode when Gen dies in Kekkaishi :{

Titanic when the ship begins to sink

Ghram's heart crushing death in Once Upon a Time

and the end of kingdom hearts

I think I never cried during a show.

But I've cried over some games.

When gen died, I literally turned my tv off and left my room. I couldn't believe it, he was one of my fav characters in the show :/

Also a couple of scenes in deadman wonderland made me sad as well as naruto when SPOILER jiraya dies :(

There are quite a few for me...Jiraya's death in Naruto was one for me. Toy Story 3's ending was another one for me. [if we're counting games, Xion's death in Days was sad.] I'm really surprised no one said the end of The Green Mile. I lost it when I saw that. Now understanding what happened, the beginning of the movie made me cry too.

The last 3 episodes of fullmetal alchemist brotherhood

Maybe even the last ep of the first series...
