What HD collections would you like to see made?

Posted

As the title suggests. Games have been upscaled to HD (not remade) and include trophy/accomplishment support, if applicable to the system. Any games in your collection would have to be in that console's history (ex. A Halo collection wouldn't be on PS3. It would be a 360 exclusive. PSP games may be included in a PS3 collection, ex. MGS Peace Walker). Mine would be:

Legacy of Kain HD (PS3, 360)

Includes Blood Omen, Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2 (you kind of have to), and Defiance. Defiance was on the Xbox as well as PS2, so it can be on the 360 as well.

Compilation of Final Fantasy VII HD (PS3)

Includes Final Fantasy VII, Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core. Advent Children is present as bonus on disc.

Resident Evil: Confidential HD (PS3, Vita)

Includes Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

That's all I can come up with right now.

WTF would be the point of upscaling games to HD? Remaster them. I can already upscale my PS2 games from 576i to HD.

The original Spyro and Crash games.

That's what I meant. I had three minutes before I had to leave for work, so wording wasn't exactly my highest priority. KNOW WHAT I'M THINKING!!!

simpson hit and run and simpson road rage.

Spyro 1-3

Crash Bandicoot 1-3

FF12

'Brave Fencer Musashi' but I doubt it.

Definately a Crash Bandicoot collection (1-3, wrath of cortex) Maybe some sort of megaman battle network collection on 3DS(all of the games would have map features along with other updated features) A donkey kong country hd collection would be awesome. pokemon collesuem and xD gale of darkness(Allow DS compatability, online battles, extra story elements, more shadow pokemon including legendaries and challenges).

Wording for something like that is vital. There is a massive difference between upscaling and remastering.

Behold Hatok! Master of Logic!

1- Topic is about non KH HD collections

2- These discussions have stemmed from HD collections such as Shadow of the Collusus & Ico, and God of War

3- So it stands to reason that's what they're talking about

4- Upscaling could refer to scaling up the quality; from 480p to 720p (Or 1080 if you're lucky)

5- Even then, what;s the problem with upscaling? I can still play it on my PS3, and now it had achievements! Tha'ts pretty nice!

6- There isn't really a difference because remaster is jut a buzz word the industry is using right now to make it seem like they're putting more effort into these ports. Nothing but perhaps the framreate is being 'remastered' with tehse collections

So you see, by taking in infromation from the posts in this topic, the title, adn past experiences, you can actually figure out what this person is talking about with little (Or even NO) difficulty!

Amazing, isn't it?

Remaster is a big difference. I'm sure you've seen what they've done to release Dragon Ball Z and Star Wars The Original Trilogy on Blu-ray it was a lot of work in the remaster.

Remasters look a lot better. Upscales can easily be done by anyone. Most TVs by default upscale 576i games to HD.

Upscaling does not improve the quality but remasters do.

By employing logic, you can notice that we are talking about videogames.

I was simply referencing to them as well known remasters. The point being they look a lot better now that they're remastered. While upscaling would not improve upon them.

FFVII - including FF7, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, a remake of the mobile game Before Crisis (is that what it's called?) and the movie Advent Children Complete.

KH - including KH1 + 2 FMs and Re: Chain of Memories.

Zelda - including a remake of Ocarina of Time and remake of Majora's Mask, along with Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. This would be a dream come true.

Wait, Skyward Sword? That's not even a year old...

A classic Final Fantasy collection. I-VI.

I know, but if there was a Zelda collection it would need to be included.

But there are so many versions! We would probably need:

- Final Fantasy: 20th Anniversary Edition (PSP remake)

- Final Fantasy II: 20th Anniversary Edition (PSP remake)

- Final Fantasy III (PSP remake)

- Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (FFIV & The After Years; PSP remake)

- Final Fantasy V Advance (GBA remake)

- Final Fantasy VI Advance (GBA remake)

Well, yeah, of course. Updated graphics, maybe some extra bosses like in the complete collection.
