3DS vs. PSVita: A Battle for Supremacy

Posted

Hey guys, I just wanted to talk to you about my opinion on the two handheld systems from Nintendo and Sony. These systems have been on store shelves for a while now, and I’ve seen lots of new games for them. I myself own a Nintendo 3DS, and I think that the system is spectacular. I haven’t gotten a PSVita yet, and I don’t plan to anytime soon unless a Kingdom Hearts game or a new Dissidia game is announced for the system. Now then, I think that both systems are good, and as you can all see, both are competing to be the best handhelds on the current market. I like Sony as much as the next guy, but I think that the 3DS is better, because it has lots of quality games like the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time(which is the second Zelda game I played in my life, and I loved it.), Super Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus: Uprising and most importantly in my opinion, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. But I also think that the PSVita has lots of potential, because the games have graphics on par with the PS3, and it has the excellent cross platform play, which is a curious feature. But the only thing that kills this system is it’s overwhelming price on both the 3G and Wifi versions. Well anyways, I think that the future of these two handhelds is bright, considering all the cool games that can be done on them. So guys, what do you think of these two systems?

Its clear that Nintendo is the King of handhelds. The Vita is more hardcore and about the system while the 3DS is just about games(would it kill Nintendo to put a usb port in the 3DS for people who have no router to get the system update).

Wouldn't using the SD card suffice?

Can you get the system update without having wireless internet?

No idea. Never tried. Knowing Nintendo, I doubt it

But why wouldn't the SD card work? Why would it need a USB slot?

Well, I say Vita:

1: It has lot of good games I wanna play and lot of good games are coming soon

2: It feels much better to play on Vita, controls are better, two analog sticks by default, better buttons

3: I don't buy expensived system for just one game

What does Sony's website have that Nintendo's site doesn't have?

3DS.

Why? It has KH3D.

Right now, I prefer the 3DS. I have never owned a PSP, and probably won't get a Vita. The 3DS and DS both had games that appealed to me (*coughnearlyhalfofmyDSlibraryispokemoncough*), while the PSP had relatively few (Tales of the World, BbS... yup). The Vita has two that currently interest me (Gravity Rush, Tales of Innocence R), but one has NOT been localized (Innocence).

Don't get me wrong, I am sure that the PSP was great, and with the time I've spent playing Vita in store demos, I know it is good. It is simply that I don't carry much interest in the games available.

If I was too buy a Sony system right now, it would be a PS3, which I can get for just as much, if not less than a Vita, and has a few games I would love to play (FFvXIII, Tales of Graces f, Tales of Xilla, possibly Last of Us and a few others).

Well I don't own a PS Vita yet (plan to get one soon!), so for the moment i'll say 3DS. Its true that 3DS has the stronger library at the moment, but KH3D is really the last game I was anticipating for the 3DS. Apart for a pokemon or Zelda game, there's nothing that i'm looking forward to on the 3DS. While the vita has: FFX, AC Liberation, Persona 4, Playstation All Stars, Soul Sacrifice, Bioshock, Hatsune Miku, Killzone, Jet Set Radio, Little Big Planet and Sly Cooper 4.

And the Vita being region free also gives it more of an edge over the 3DS.

3DS, because Vita doesn't have enough good games. I'd prefer to play on my Vita, but there's no games for me to play on it...

but one has been localized (Innocence).

Innocence R was never translated, not even the original. Gravity Rush was though, pretty good game, although the ending sucked.

This should have been a poll.

D'oh! I meant to say NOT LOCALIZED. *rage* Stupid mistake is stupid. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll fix it.
