*Spoilers* Yen Sid, and 'Relearning' to Use the Keyblade

Posted

Something that's come to my attention as I play DDD.

Yen Side made Sora and Riku level 1 to have them learn how to use the keyblade PROPERLY, right?

But they learn all of the same stuff! They have the same three hit combo. Riku learns dark break and dark firaga. Sora has strike raid and such.

Every significant new ability they gain is tied to the dream world!

Seriously, Yen Sid sucks at this. The whole thing. If he didn't fail at everything about this test, none of it would have happened.

And then he goes ahead and fails Sora, yet when it comes down to it, everything that went wrong boils down to his supreme incompetence and lack of foresight.

Don't over-think the current excuse to have us start as level 1.

Whats worse is that in the inevitable KH3 or Reconnect, Sora and Riku will probably be lvl 1 again due to the fact that they forgot everything from KH1 and 2, and what they leanred from the realm of dreams, probably STAYS in the real of dreams. Nomura planned this the whole time.

Its just an excuse to start from level one...

As Decimo said dont over think it.

don't you ever question the great Master Yen Sid. He's watched over our worlds for ages his supreme judgement is justified for whatever reason he choose it to be

he failed Sora because he told him and Riku to return back from Realm of Dreams and Sora wouldnt have returned if Lea wouldnt have saved him.

That's not really the point, the point is that everything is Yen Sid's fault for having bad foresight. And also, he picks Riku over Sora because Riku dived back into Sora's heart a second time to save him.

Maybe Keyblade Masters are supposed to use the Command System like T/V/A did, but because they weren't formally trained, Sora and Riku developed their own way of fighting (the KH1, KH2 method). Now that he can properly train them, Yen Sid wants to teach Sora and Riku the proper way to fight. Look at it this way- Sora's Salvation is stronger than any attack I've seen him use in KH1 or KH2 in regular battles. That is much needed firepower to take down Master Xehanort.

doesnt really matter, you want sora to be in lv 99 in the start of the game?

It would have been better if he made them do a new mark of mastery exam since Xehanort couldn't mess it up

I think Yen Sid knew exactly what was going on. He's a mastermind, so he knows everything that could go right and everything that could go wrong, he just doesn't bother to tell anyone what he knows. So yeah, he probably was setting Sora up for failure.

Nomura used main characters.

Xehanort fainted.
