DDD has a Stable Bottle Time Loop (Spoilers)

Posted

Stop and think about it. KH2 ended all those years ago with Sora and Riku getting a message in a bottle from Mickey from Kairi.

Then Re:Coded told us what was in that message.

But now, DDD has given us a new bottle, Ansem's Data, hidden within Sora. Provided that this bottle manifests physically when Riku leaves the Sora's Heart... then we have a stable loop, that can have the plot make sense without playing all of the 'unnecessary' games.

Here's how: Sora and Riku have this new bottle with Ansem's data in it. This is hinted to pertain to all of the hearts attached to Sora. It also looks identical to the bottle received at the end of KH2. Sora and Riku can simply act like THIS was the message they got, which details the existence of Xion, and how to save all those other people. Suddenly the plot catches right up.

Now, if Square does this, I doubt they'd make it perfect. I'm sure they'd reference the past games a fair bit, after all, they WANT people to buy their games.

But yeah, thoughts?

...wait, what? I'm lost...

They get a bottle at the end of KH2, right?

And Ansem's data manifests as a bottle in DDD

So KH3 could just act like THAT was the bottle they got, and use it to explain BBS, Days and Re:Coded. It could solve EVERY problem with people not playing these games

So if they do act like that was the bottle they got what happens to the one from coded?

So... you're saying they could have theoretically sent the bottle back in time to the end of KHII? But the seal on the letter implies that it's from Mickey.

Nothing. It's still there, the game just never says WHERE the letter is from, which lets fans comign straight from KG2 dive straight in under the assumption it's the same one from KH2, while people who played the side games will know what it really is.

No time ravel involved. See above.
He's saying that since there are a lot of people who don't even know about Coded and the side games, they could use the bottle in KH3D and people who only played KH1 and 2 think that it's the bottle from the end of KH2.

So, you're saying that 3D could have theoretically taken place before the 'after-the-credits' part of KH2?

That's actually a very interesting idea. Magic Bottle plot hole gun.

No.

I think I understand it now. No use in explaining what the casual fans won't get and what everyone else already knows.

Isn't the Memoir feature just for that?

It's as Kinode says

No.

Why not?

This is specifically for people who didn't play DDD

Oh, ok, I think I get it.

If I remember right, then BbS showed us what Sora, Riku and Kairi did AFTER they've read the Letter within this bottle. Well, Sora was told about these peoples, as you said... But didn't you notice Sora also knew all this in KH3D?

Also, there is the fact that Riku and Sora left the Islands without Kairi, and the Secret Ending of KH3D shows us that Riku is going to the Islands AGAIN to bring Kairi to the Mysterious Tower.

And the 3rd fact which is in my mind: Rikus Haircut :P

1- The idea is, KH3 will be set up in a way that people who played only KH2 can assume the bottle contained Ansem's data, while people who played the other games will know what was actually in it.

2- KH2 never shows them leaving the islands, Kairi says hurry back, but that can easily be hand waved.

3- Because they totally explained his haircut in DDD

It's my opinion that if people didn't play the games, then that's their fault. I've been so sick and tired of people complaining about "Where's 3? Where's 3?"

Why do people hold NUMBERS of games in such high regard? Nearly every KH game so far has had some majorly important plot. Every one of them has added or advanced it in some way. They're just as important. Just because it's not on a console or doesn't have a number does NOT mean it isn't up to par (or even better) than a console game.

Also, there's no need for any of this bottle stuff. If they do anything, it'll just be the same as the momentos in 3D.

1- Well well ~ Can't say against this :P

2- BbS and KH3D did ;o Cause BbS implies quite intense that Sora und Riku gonna leave cause Kairi said "See you soon" *alakazam* Sora and Riku are going to take the exam

3- Nomura said right after KH2 Riku cut his hair cause this is his actual Look, so he did cut it between KH2 and KH3D ~ It's a symbol that there won't be any more Timeskips (is this word correct? I'm german o.o)

2- BBS and KH3D did, but if you play those games you'll know why. What are you trying to say?

3- It wasn't explained ingame is what I mean

And, for the record, timeskips is a perfectly cromulent word.

I miss long haired Riku ;-;

But I think it will be a smooth movement for the people who stopped at KHII, until nothing is what they think it is and they get all confused and angry and I laugh at them.

Sorry forgot to say: It's impossible to play KH2 and not know about the other games.

How so?

And even if you DO know ABOUT them, it doesn't mean they'll play it. Every KH fan I know personally (All three of them) thinks the 'spinoffs' are pointless, and are just waiting for KH3.

I think it's hard to call yourself a 'fan' of a series when you haven't played half the titles.

Then these 3 peoples aren't fans, they're just player who plays KH occasional. But I admit, in a parallel universe, It would be possible :P

So uh... casual players aren't allowed to have a cohesive story?
