SPOILERS How I Perceived KH3D's climax and Xehanort's Posse

Posted

So going into KH3D I thought that Xemnas, Xehanort's Heartless, and Young Xehanort were all some sort of "dream phantoms" that Riku and Sora were encountering as they traversed the Realm of Sleep. I was wrong, I should've known not to assume anything about the plot of a Kingdom Hearts game, haha.

Instead of a game about dreams, KH3D turned almost abruptly into a game about time travel, and it was revealed that YX had brought Xemnas and Xehanort's Heartless forward in time along with all of his other selves so that they could become his vessels of darkness.

Then he fails. All of the different vessels are sent back to their own times. According to YX, once you return to your own time you lose your memories and experiences during time travel, so the 13 he gathered have now forgotten the events of KH3D. MX tells Mickey, Riku, and Lea that neither the unions of light nor darkness were achieved.

Now, here's what I'm a bit confused about. It seems impossible for either Xemnas or Xehanort's Heartless to be vessels; he was only revived by the destruction of those two, meaning his heart and body have been "recompleted". Xehanort cannot be his Heartless and himself in the same time frame; his heart can't be contained in his Heartless if he's going to split it among thirteen vessels, right? To that point, how can any of his past selves be a vessel now that they've gone back to their own times?

Isa and Braig have been revived in the current time, so they can act as vessels again. And Terranort should be back since Xemnas and Xehanort's Heartless are destroyed. Most folks have been generally agreeing that the 13 vessels are incarnations of Xehanort, but I'm not convinced yet. One of them obviously has to be Xehanort in some form or another, but without Young Xehanort the Time Lord and his Keyblade TARDIS (or however he time travels) he can't gather the Nort brigade seen in KH3D.

I might have misinterpreted some things, but let me know if I have. KH3D wasn't exactly straightforward in places and I was definitely confused. What do you guys think?

YMX can keep gathering them up before they are defeated and bring them with him . Its like an endless time loop. For the record i despise the time travel element .I should also add that when they return, they return to the exact moment they left so it doesnt change their fates or interrupt what will happen .

You know I've been thinking something for a while. Why not just time travel to DI when sora is level 1 and without a keyblade?

I think they want him with a keyblade. If they influence him with darkness without the keyblade he won't have it much like Riku initially lost it.

But if they go back in time they can kill of three unsuspectin future keyblade wielders (sora, riku, kairi). Two of which are definite lights. Which would easily give Xehanort a HUGE advantage. Of course time travel is broken so....

You cant go back in time and change things that were meant to happen . One of the established rules of time travel in the game . The same reason why they cant go back in time to kill YMX to stop the whole chain of events :P

Time Travel usually messes up everything T_T

What's next a time machine? oh wait...that door to Timeless River.

Every 13th vessel he's had/wanted all had a keyblade, so while they have the ability to oppose him they can be to his advantage if he plays his cards right. And I think he's been hoping for the latter.

So pretty much.. they're screwed? :P

Nomura said ASoD and Xemnas didn't timetravel. It's like Xehanort can invoke them while he's alive. Keep that in mind!

He said they didnt personally use time travel powers . That YMX did and brought them with him because he himself had the power. They are still from the past .

After hearing xehanort brag about how much vessels he had I felt really sorry for Terra.

He definitely wouldn't harm Kairi, since she's poised to be both a Pure Light (Princess of Heart) and one of the seven. He needs at least seven pure lights in order for the clash to take place so he can summon Kingdom Hearts.

So really whats the threat thats going to happen in kh 3?

Xehanort could create pure hearts.like ven

Fair enough, I suppose.

This is what I think as well but Nomura said

From KH1 on, Ansem has returned no matter how many times he has been defeated, perhaps the same sort of thing happened.

Nomura, why are you so confusing? D:

Yes I know . He likes to give 'what ifs ' but the 'what ifs ' are there to throw us off or to troll ..Personally I think he does this bc he can change things later on . Example : This very game xD

Even though MX wants Darkness to win, Light and Darkness have to clash to form the X-blade. If there weren't any Light protectors, he wouldn't get the X-Blade and Kingdom Hearts. If he were to kill Riku and the others with time travel (which I doubt he could do such a thing, that's messing up time really good) that wouldn't benif him...

I think the answer for the topic's question is this: Xemnas and Xehanort Heartless are not vessels, they're incarnations of Xehanort. It's true that they had to be destroyed so the present Xehanort, which is Terranort, came back to life. But with time travel, there's no problem that they all coexist at the same time. It's his body and heart from different time lines, so it's not like he has "two bodys" or "two hearts", since they're not from the same time line.

I agree with you on the first part.

And yeah, they can all exist at the same time, but only so long as they're from different timelines. I was figuring that Terranort wouldn't be able to recreate them after KH3D, but if YX can time travel willy nilly then he doesn't have to.

Also, why time travel, Nomura? WHY? We already have evil twins, amnesiacs, and dream worlds! We really didn't need to add the whole time travel gimmick in there, did we?!
