Legendary video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed in the latest edition of Game Informer magazine that those loveable Koopalings aren’t actually related to Bowser at all. Miyamoto confirmed that Bowser’s only child is Bowser Jr, but he confessed he has absolutely no idea who the mother is.

“Our current story is that the seven Koopalings are not Bowser’s children. Bower’s only child is Bowser Jr. and we don’t know who the the mother is.”

SO wait if they aren't Bowser's kids then who are they then. Just a bunch a random Koopas that went by the name "Koopalings"? I'm now confused because if I remember correctly Super mario bros. 3 clearly stated that they were Bowser's kids. Am I missing something here? And why did it take Miyamoto this long to say something like this? This totally contradicts New Super Mario bros. 3 (Not counting the tv show because that isn't canon).

I was unaware that these games had enough plot to be considered "canon"...lol

It's Mario universe logic; It's the reason why a cross dressing dinosaur blows eggs out of its mouth.

Well, they don't have to have a deep plot to be canon or not. The only Mario games that even have important plots are the JRPG Mario games.

Have you even played SMB3?

Hmmm I guess Boswer is assexual.

You know how it goes with royalty and famous people. Every run of the mill koopette claiming their baby's daddeh be Bowser.

I always thought they were his. :/

Well, glad to know ^^

Then that means Bowser's father wasn't Morton Koopa Sr. SUPER MARIO BROS. U PREORDER CANCELED.

Looking at them now, the only ones that really look like Bowser anyway are Morton Jr. and Ludvig.

The mother is Peach.

really?!...didn't see that in the magezine xD

The Mario universe is never always correct when they say something.

Just look at Birdo.

I'm actually glad that there aren't Bowser's children, I don't like them. But I like Bowser Jr though.

When I read the title I thought of this

Good thing that those aren't Bowser's kids

After playing Super mario world 50 times, I always thought they were Bowser's children.

Apparently not. 0.o

We do know who the mother is. How many times has Bowser captured Peach? What does he do with her? And why does Bowser Jr. call her mother. Hmmm

Sucks to be them. If Bowser can't even beat Mario, how can he raise kids??

Bowser's Jr mother is Peach....nuff said.

Otherwise she wouldn't let herself kidnapped with Toads doing nothing.

It's like a yearly routine.Bowser came to the castle and this happens:

Frank(a Toad) : Mornin Bowser

Bowser: Mornin Frank, what day is it today???

Frank:September 15.Oh... you can take the princess. She is in the hot spring bathing

Bowser: SWEEEET,thanks
