My personal opinion of the Presidential Debates

Posted

In my humble opinion about the debate:

President Obama: I really liked how he opened and closed giving thanks to the people who coordinated the debate, as well a thanks to his opponent. When he asked overhead questions, he looked straight into the camera, as if he was asking you personally in your living room. However, I felt that Obama seemed kind of tired. When he was making his short speeches, he spent too much time on fluff. He wasn't getting back at Romney as he quick as he should, not bringing up easy points he could have defeated. But overall, I felt like President Obama was pretty respectful.

Mitt Romney: His speeches were well organized, and even though he got less time to speak, it FELT like he spoke more, because he kept going from point, to point, to point, covering more bases, and great job on making sure he got the last word. However, Romney kept interrupting President Obama, whether he was afraid he was gonna loose his train of thought, or that he wouldn't get enough time to speech, I'm not sure, but that does not permit him to interrupt his opponent.

I felt that both candidates were equally rude to the time keeper and host from PBS, ignoring his time keeping on purpose, and trying to answer the question before the question was fully read, which I find unacceptable. In my short time in Debate, you always respect the time keeper, the judge, and the host of the debate (which is usually the same person.)

Overall: The debate was fair, though it wasn't as heated as I would have liked it to be, (face it--it was kind of dry) and based off the notes that I took, I have to hand the win to Gov. Romney.

I have to say I enjoyed your review and agree with a lot of your points. I was actually suprised how well Romney did considered that Obama was known for his ability to articulate his points in the past.

The most important thing I got out of the whole debate is that Romney has the hots for Obama. He would not stop staring at him like hes in love with him. I may end up shipping Romney x Obama by the end of this election.

Oh gosh... hahaha! Romney did have some interesting looks--but that is another I forgot to mention. Romney actually looked at his opponent most of the time while Obama was speaking, while Obama kind of looked down at his hands most of the time during Romney's speeches.

Romney isn't going to win. Besides Republicans have less chances to win because they secretly want to destroy America just to defeat Obama.

Romney isn't going to win. Besides Republicans never win because they want to ruin the country, that's why Obama is gonna win again!

Wow... I have nothing to say to you.

Romney isn't going to win. Besides Republicans never win because they want to ruin the country, that's why Obama is gonna win again!

Really what kind of logic is that.

Oh, lovely. Politics on the internet. This will obviously end well. However, I'm siding with Big Bird on this one.

This article clearly has it's own biased agenda the Los Angeles times has been known in the past to favor the democrats. This article honestly comes of as biased even if you did not know that LA Times did that. All it does is highlight obama in way that makes him look like the better man, while barely giving out Romney's points who actually made some fluent, well organized arguements.

Are you insane? That is the most arrogant and disrespectful way to think.

Republicans never win?

If you look at the past Presidents since FDR, most of them have been Republican....

Either way, I believe Obama should win. I believe he is a overall great guy, and thinks about EVERYONE compared to Romney. :/

But Romney said during the debate that he cared about the 100% as opposed to Obama's 47%.

Ahh he did? I didn't see the debate. xD I'm just going off of what the people of KH13 are saying.

If he actually cares about the 100%, good. But he'll have to prove that if he get's to be president. I heard his partner is a firetruckin douchebag, though.

Aqua7KH, you're better than that. Don't rely on others to tell you what to think. Do your own homework--make your own decisions, and don't make assumptions based on other people's opinions--especially if you don't know the context.

Mitt Romney, President Obama, and Paul Ryan--they're all decent men who truly love their wife and children. They just have different views on how to run the country--and that's fine. Everyone does. But there's no need to go around calling people 'heartless' and 'douchebags,' especially when obviously, you don't know what you're talking about. You can disagree with them all you want, but name-calling is unnecessary.

Ahh I guess you're right. I am better than that. I'll go and do my own research right now.

I believe that Obama was taking notes, or something similar. I know that they both had a pen with them (I heard one click over the microphone even), and I saw both of them writing multiple times.

Anyway, my opinion is basically the same as the one presented in the first post. I hope Obama wins the election, but I can't disagree with the statement that Romney won the debate.

I didn't bother to watch it because I hate politics but I hear Obama really put in some nice effort owo
