Yeah the worlds in KH1 and KH2 were really long and kinda tiring >_>

Just wait for KH3, though.

They also had things to do, and unique gimmicks that actually made each world seem different...

Can the fact that BBS and DDD are handheld games be used as an excuse for why the worlds are so short?

Hm. I can agree that they simpled it down a lot, but they were pushing the limits of the data capacity as it was with DDD and, I'm assuming, BBS. There's really only so much you can put in a world when the amount of available data is that much smaller.

No, that`s not the case at all. The PSP is somewhere between the PS1 and the PS2 in terms of power, and the disks can hold 1.7 GB which is enough to fit the original Kingdom Hearts, and nearly enough to fit KH2 (Though they would have be downgraded anyways, as they would be too advanced for the PSP to run properly)

The 3DS is more powerful than the Wii, and the cartridges can hold 4 GB, in other words, enough to fit KH1 and 2 AND run it, in theory (This wouldn`t REALLY work because the 3DS runs so dfferently in comparison to the PS2, but it should be possible with enough modification)

Basically, while BBS has SOME excuse for being smaller than KH1 and 2, DDD does not (Yet the worlds are smaller than the BBS ones... and there are less of them... and BBS had three visits to worlds, while DDD only has two)

And beyond that, KH1 and KH2 had variety for reasons that were not resource intensive. They used text cutscenes and alternate forms of interaction to make things happen, while later games simply have combat

So this is first disney-based worlds right? Not just worlds in general.

First REAL world. The worlds before the ones I listed are more or less strictly based around tutorial, and aren`t particularly worth comparing

Yeah, I guess so.

So did Re: Coded and Days.

Yes, but they were made by H.A.N.D.

I`m just lookign at these games because they are the ones with the consistent design philosophy

Does anybody know how much space was needed in DDD?

IF BBS should ever get a remake (I mean a real one) then I hope that they will add more scenes per world... and well, actually NPCs when they talk about a crowd etc..

Interaction between the main characters and others felt a bit flat and so was the friendship of Aqua, Terra and Ven. A few flashbacks would have helped.

Especially the world of Quasimodo. If I hadn't known about the movie I would have never understand why Esmeralda and... the knight guy whoose name I forgot, were in love and so on.

It is sad that the worlds become so rushed.

I actually liked the concept of the worlds in KH2.

Lots of things to do (while you level up like crazy) before you end the world.
