Posted October 8, 201213 yr I don't mean the whole name change ceramony thing I mean why do think those names were chosen for them. Exceptions of xemnas Roxas and xion, cause there's is already known.
October 8, 201213 yr Author Because Nomura said so http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png' well other than that...
October 8, 201213 yr Their new names makes as much sense as Xemnas, Roxas and Xion's, so I don't understand your question.
October 8, 201213 yr Author L Their new names makes as much sense as Xemnas, Roxas and Xion's, so I don't understand your question. Like why do think their names are what they are. For instance, lexaeus real name is aeleus which means wind. Strange how he rules earth and is given a wind name. And xemnas Roxas and Zion's name origins are already known so they don't count.
October 8, 201213 yr I think he wants to know why they were given their names besides the fact they had an X....Like why was Saix/Isa named Saix/Isa for example . Edited October 8, 201213 yr by Flaming Lea
October 8, 201213 yr Author I think he wants to know why they were given their names besides the fact they had an X....Like why was Saix/Isa named Saix/Isa that for example . correct expect *cough cough*she*cough cough*
October 8, 201213 yr Marluxia is named after the Lumaria flower, I believe. Actually Lumaria is a genus of moths.
October 8, 201213 yr Actually Lumaria is a genus of moths. I also remember it being a plant that Nomura name Marluxia after.
October 8, 201213 yr I never thought there was any rhyme or reason to their naming conventions aside from "original name scrambled + X." "Zexion" doesn't have anymore meaning than "Ienzo," I don't think, just as "Axel" and "Lea" aren't inherently meaningful, either. Unless Nomura pulls a fast one on us, I just thought the Organization names were randomized. "Roxas" could've easily been "Xaros" or "Arxso" or whatever and it wouldn't have been any different, except "Roxas" doesn't sound as weird (though that might just be because we're used to it).
October 8, 201213 yr God and Nomura discussed it, and it sounds cool adding an X to the name is awesome
October 8, 201213 yr Aside from Xemnas,Roxas and Xion the names of the Org members are supposed to have a meaning connected to their power. Example, Even (Vexen) means ice. Obviously there are some exceptions like Aeleus (Lexaeus) meaning wind when that's Xaldin's (Dilan's) power, but for the most part it's the above formula. Btw do you think that with 1.5 ReMIX we'll finally learn Demyx's, Luxord and Larxene's real names, you know because of Re:Com and the Days cutscenes?
October 8, 201213 yr Author Wel the name axel means bringer of peace if i remember correctly and when i discovered that I thought it was hilarious and coulnt have been a coincidence. Edit, father of peace is what axel means still ironic.
October 8, 201213 yr Well, a name has to sound somewhat name-like (Is there a word for that). Those names were most likely chosen because they sounded the most natural out of all the choices. Axel and Roxas are the best examples.
October 10, 201213 yr Xemnas/Ansem- We know Xigbar/Braig- Irish has Brigh, which means power or height. It's pronounced Bree, but it's the closest Ican find. Xaldin/Dilan- Is Turkish (and feminine) meaning love Vexen/Even- Evan is a variation of John, which leads to any number of possible namesakes, Even is also a Norwegian name, meaning gift or winner. Unlikely to have any relevance in my opinion. Lexaeus/Aeleus- While Aeleus is not a name, Aileaus, Aelius, Aeolus all are, and despite different roots, all convey some relation to royalty. What this means, I have no idea, perhaps he's related to Ansem? Zexion/Ienzo- The best I can find is a link to Janus, the two-faced god of change and beginnings Works pretty well considering after Riku fights him we have the full embrace of his I have darkness and rock because of it philosophy. Unfortunately the name connection is pretty weak. Saix/Isa- Isa is a nordic rune (among other things) representing the harsh realities of life, and blindness to one's own faults. Axel/Lea- Lea is a form of Leah, a name meaning weary. Aside from Axel's apreciation for npping, he's the one who gets 'the icky jobs', and gets fed up with it.. Demyx/???- Impossible to make a reasonable assumption without more information. Luxord/???- Impossible to make a reasonable assumption without more information. Marluxia/???- Impossible to make a reasonable assumption without more information. Larxene/???- Impossible to make a reasonable assumption without more information. Roxas/Soraa- We know Xion/No.i- We know While some of these seem pretty good, the primary concern is that the game was made in Japanese, and despite Nomura's punnery with English, the characters used in their Japanese names might have some obvious connection I'd have no way to know.
October 15, 201213 yr Xaldin/Dilan- Is Turkish (and feminine) meaning love That made me laugh, considering how far this guy goes to destroy love for others.
December 18, 201212 yr I might be late but it's the recusants sigil I think it's when you take a nobodies somebody and rearrange their names and add an X. I don't really remember but when I played "days" their was a cut scene where xemas is giving Roxas his name before joining organization 13. It said sora in a circle above his head the name was rearranged and got a x put Into the middle.
December 18, 201212 yr X is the letter that spells endings. The Recusant's Sigil. A recusant is someone who abandons his/her self or beliefs for those of another. Like the Nobodies, who had 'no one to be.' We can't forget Xemnas meant to make them all vessels for Xehanort, and thus they would lose their identity.
I don't mean the whole name change ceramony thing I mean why do think those names were chosen for them. Exceptions of xemnas Roxas and xion, cause there's is already known.
