All little boys should know how to wax on and wax off.

that sounded creepy

well......it builds muscle?...

If you watched the movie you'd find out. Same with 'pick up the jacket' in the newer one. >>

It's in the movie actually. The "Wax on and Wax off" is used to block the punches.

To make your car nice and shiny.

Is anyone else singing:

"Wax on"

*clap clap*

*Wax Off*

*clap clap*

"The Waxer!"

actually if you think about it, the wax off, wax on in the original karate kid is much more of an work out than the jacket on, jacket off in the new karate kid.

When reading the title, I thought it was about personal grooming...

I don't remember much from the movie, but I know it helped with his fighting in some form >.<

Don't worry, you'll know soon enough.

I always thought it was for muscle memory and a way to help him block/fight without hurting himself.....quick thinking in a way xD

Actually the "wax on, wax off" motions can be:

circular blocks that can be used to simply check punches or kicks

coming towards your face

make your hand a fist and punch them with the back of your hand in the

nose

use it to grab their hand and pull them towards you to hit back with another

hand technique

if they kick you, you can check it and get them off balance and take

them down

What, it's Bully Awareness Month.

Might as well learn a bit of self defense.

*Ignoring all post and just..*
