This topic is for sharing popular songs that can relate to the Kingdom Hearts series. They can tell parts of the story or be character theme songs. This is not to bash other people's choice in music, but to discover new songs and see how they relate to the series. I'll start.

 

Wide Awake - Katy Perry

 

There are lots of places in the series where this song could be used, but the first time I heard it, I thought of Xion. This song describes her thoughts about finding out she's a replica and making her choice of going back into Sora. This song could be the theme song for 358/2 Days.

Pretty much the only exposure I get to pop music is at work, and I don't know what any of the songs are called, but there's this one where they say something about falling into the sky and it always reminds me of the KH1 intro with Sora falling into the sky from every angle.

This could be used when travelling through a peaceful world/when the battle music isn't in check. I love it.

I can't really see songs with lyrics other than Hikaru's being included in the game.

But speaking solely of songs that can relate to the story

Nightmare revisited soundtrack in Halloween Town

Candy from a stranger, Wake The White Queen - Alice in Wonderland, you don't just drink it/eat it cause it isn't marked poison. And the latter for obvious reasons.

Chance by Vic for Riku (it's obvious Kairi prefers Sora, poor Riku)

- I could go on forever.

But writing this has made me realise, I wanna see the other holiday towns (Valetine, Thanksgiving, Eastertown) in the NMBC.

It really is a nice song but doesn't go with kh and maybe a little xion

I totally agree with all of that=)it really matches.

The idea I had wasn't about songs that would be in the game. It's more of a "if we could only tell the story or describe the characters using songs which ones would you use?"

For Roxas, I always thought that the song "Just Close Your Eyes" (preferably the version by Waterproof Blonde) fit fantastically.

i know this isnt realvent but for kh3d they could use chris browns dont wake me up if they edit alittle look it up

When I first looked up translations of the song "Bad Apple" from Touhou and heard the english version I immediatly thought about Kingdom Hearts ^^

I searched on youtube if someone had already joined them in a gmv, and of course, I found gazillions results

I REALLY REALLY don't like to do this because it messes with the nostalgia factor for me.

Maybe not the series as a whole but I thing this pretty much sums up the actions of the original Organization 13

IKR! I did this vid on this topic only the lyrics i think

I love listening to music on the radio then jotting it down in my notes on my phone

 

But anyway:

• Home by Chris Daughtrey would work pretty well. It reminds me of all the main characters in the games.....Sora, Riku, Kairi; Axel, Roxas, Xion (or Namine); Aqua, Terra, Ven.....all about their journey to fight for their friends and find a way back home.
• Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne. It makes me think of the times Sora had to tell his friends goodbye....even Aqua when she's falling in the darkness.
• Imaginary by Evanescence. This reminds me a little bit of Sora when he slept for a year and Roxas lived in a sort of "dream" world of Twilight Town. Heck this even applies to DDD with the whole weird dreaming thing.
• King of Anything by Sara Bareilles. Just in general, I think of how Saix and a couple other Organization members push down Roxas with lies, vague explanations, and mistreatment.....he wants to decide what he should know. Well minus the coffee shop lines, I think this works
• Changed by Rascal Flatts. Makes me think of Riku and all the stuff he's gone through to get rid of the darkness inside him and make everything up to Sora and Kairi.
• Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head) by Will Smith. LOL just kidding, but it did make me think of Organization XIII for a minute

I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a bunch, but that's what I can remember off the top of my head >w<
