Red vs. Blue is a Halo Machinima (A method of making animated film using software similar to that designed for making video/computer games) created by a group of people under the name RoosterTeeth. I can't really explain it aside from the fact that it is, in my opinion, awesome. The first 5 seasons don't hold much plot, they are just filled with nonsensical comedic moments, along with some more serious moments (which are seemingly few in comparison to the comedy). It's in seasons 6 and beyond that things get more plot heavy (But they keep the comedic humor in there). Things such as high quality action scenes produced with CGI animation make their way into the series (I think that's what you would call them anyways), and frankly they are amazing. There is also a really good sound track to accompany it. If you're willing to take some time to catch up with the 10 seasons worth of episodes, I think you wouldn't be disappointed, but it's your choice, watching it all now is a big commitment, perhaps something you might want to do during a vacation.

On a final note:

Red vs. Blue may be the greatest machinima series, ever....of all time.
