After watching the livestream, it seems RWBY is going to continue. Monty made it clear he had a lot of ideas to use, but it'll be sad to not see the ones he didn't share, or didn't have ready yet.

But we shouldn't say it won't be the same. True, it is very sad that Monty is gone (I cried my eyes out almost the entire day), but Monty would never say something like that about anything. He would say, "Keep on going, guys! You can do it!"

I have full confidence that Rooster Teeth with keep making RWBY as amazing as it is and will always be.

As long as they don't overdo it like with Red vs. Blue. Season 10 for that was a good way to end it.

But, who is going to make the fighting scenes? He was kinda well known for that for all of his works actually.

Literally my emotions have been a wreck.

You'd think he was my dad I have been crying so much.

I don't expect them to copy Monty exactly, but they for sure will try their best to still make them as good as they can be.

I'm no longer active on this site, but with this type of news it was hard not to come on and express my feelings to one of the biggest RWBY fan base on a forum.

It is very hard to lose a love one be it through a untimely passing or something unexpected or even when you know it's coming. As such my prayers go out to Monty Oum his wife, family, RT production, and the fan. We all had our ups and downs and rage fit over little things of Monty Oums creations from Dead Fantasy to amazing CGI scenes in RvB and now RWBY. But he kept moving forward with a clear and positive mind for himself and for the fans.

RWBY from Monty being one of the major thing in this current generation opened up doors to more talented people to express themselves, others finding comfort in this new found show, or being attached to a character within the world of RWBY, and broaden the range of non-anime and more anime fans alike to come together to enjoy something newly found.

At the very least he was able to see RWBY be born in front of million viewers through his "RWBY: Red Trailer" and see it evolved into a major phenomenon of this generation. From Computer streaming Video to Blu-Ray/DVD home Release of Volume one and two, and the amazing soundtrack of RWBY that everyone loved to even having physical merchandise being made such as shirts, figures, posters, and even more. As well as having an official Japanese dub for the Japanese audience to experience his work.

I was amazed of his work during the Dead Fantasty age, and I was glad that I was able to follow RWBY from the very start until his passing. I'm sure the good people and staff at RoosterTeeth will continue Monty legacy through RWBY in good manners.

May Monty Oum rest in peace and his work carried out through life as he may see fit in the heavens.

Thank you for coming on just for this. You sure you won't be active during RWBY seasons?

Such a shame he's gone, its kinda sad knowing I'll never see a new Monty Oum fight scene

At the very least, we can't say he didn't live a full life, he made his own anime show, and got paid for doing what he loved, definitely made the most of everything

he wasnt the only dude to make the fight scenes.

any scene with cider mercury or emerald is was done by shane newville. who is just a good an animator as monty.

I'm not gonna cry...I'm not gonna cry..*Bawls*

I know it's been sad here, but here's a little lighthearted scene. The last part might hit too close to heart, but hopefully not.

I'm not crying.

I'm sweating out of my eyes. :

He sure is the ladies man.

Jaune and Yang's voice actors in such a cute sketch!!!

why did he have to die when i was just starting RWBY ;( i hope VOL.3 still keeps the series awesome

Random Fact:Burnie Burns, Creative Director of Rooster Teeth (the people that make RWBY if you didn't know), used to date Monty Oum's wife, Sheena. O_O

Hi :3

I'm a fan of RWBY as well. And there is something in season one that I noticed that I wanna talk about. You know at the end of season 1, when Penny fights for the first time? Well when I first saw it it reminded me of something. In another game called Blazblue, there is a character who fights EXACTLY like her. Actually, there are more in later games but I'm just referring to the first game. The weapon is even the same! Blazblue came out before RWBY, so I was wondering, did they copy off of Nu(The characters name)? Or is it a REALLY good coincidence?

Yeah, Penny probably was based off of that character. I can't think of any other characters who use multiple swords like that (Ventus is close but he fights differently). Though the way Penny used her blades was fairly different from Nu so I wouldn't say it's exactly the same. In Dead Fantasy 6, Monty Oum also gave Namine that weapon + fighting style and I would say THAT is almost exactly like Nu's with the multi-blade slashes and the teleporting sword attacks.

In both cases, Penny and Namine had a lot of other attacks that Nu didn't seem to have but I haven't played the any Blazblue games so I can't really say for all of them.

Yeah. Really it was the multiple swords that made me think that. But she does slash them together though a bit in the beginning like Nu does when the White Fang guys first approach her. But other than that her fighting style is different. But I also wanted to know what you guys thought on this :3

Hey, I didn't know. Sweeeeet. Gonna rewatch that at some point.
