When I was playing BBS with Aqua I realized that her fighting style is similar to fencing. So I actually started thinking about what styles everyone else uses. Sora for example wields his weapon like a baseball bat.

I've written a couple things about KH fighting styles

Sora has a slow defensive stance

Riku has an aggressive, low defense stance

aqua actually has a fairly impractical fighting style, which reflects her reliance on magic, in my opinion

I was more talking about the way she attacks with her keyblade. But good that you mentioned those points.

I really think that Sora & Terra should have their stances switched.

I honestly like Aqua's style a lot, contrary to popular opinion.

What kind of style does roxas use?Maybe a balanced one.

he uses soras the baseball bat

And yet out of all the Keyblade Warriors, Eraqus is the only one who uses the traditional samurai stance. It's the same stance that I use when swordfighting.

This is how Interpreted some of their styles:

Sora: Offence and defensive balance with mild speed.

Riku: High offence and low defense but holds his Keyblade in a way that allows him to strike faster.

Mickey: Yoda.

Terra: Tanks his enemies with slow but powerful attacks. Has high defense.

Ven: Has a ninja style. No, seriously. His backhanded style is similar to the one ninjas use for quick and sneaky attacks but it's not meant for endurance or defense, it's strictly a speed style.

Aqua: I actually see her style as less "fencer" and more "dancer". Since she's magic based she does have one of the more inconvenient styles because it's a lot of pretty twirling and pirouettes but I guess that's the issues when you know, you have the questionable existence of magic.

Vanitas: More or less the same as Riku. High offence, a little low on the defensive but makes up for it in speed.

Master Eraqus: Samurai.

Master Xehanort: N/A (I actually haven't paid too much attention to his style but if you want to take YMX into account then it's more or less the same as Riku's and Vanitas'.)

Lea: N/A

Kairi: N/A (We see her fight a little but her style isn't fixed yet. From the little we've seen it looks like a mix of Sora and Aqua's style though imo.)

Roxas: Exact same as Sora's

Xion: Also the exact same as Sora's.

Ven: Has a ninja style. No, seriously. His backhanded style is similar to the one ninjas use for quick and sneaky attacks but it's not meant for endurance or defense, it's strictly a speed style.

It would be more of a speedy style if his Keyblade were shorter, like a knife. However, from what I've seen and tried, it's actually easier to defend with a reversed grip long sword.

I really think that Sora & Terra should have their stances switched.

What? Why? That makes no sense

He uses the exact same style that Sora uses in KH1...?

Why? Sora would look decent, but Terra.. I can't even imagine what he would look like with Sora's stance..

Well, Terra fights with strength, right? That means, if he wields a heavy keyblade, he should hold it wth two hands. Also, I think that Sora's stance makes him look like his keyblade's too heavy for him, & that looks more like a trait Terra should have instead of Sora. Also, speaking of switching stances, I think Miguel Caballero Rojo & Lei Wulong from the TEKKEN series should also have their stances switched, because, Miguel's stance looks like Drunken Fist, & Lei Wulong's stance looks like Brawling, while Miguel's fighting style is brawling, & Lei Wulong's fighting style is Drunken fist+5 animal kung fu combo fighting style. But, that's just my thoughts. It's not like Katsuhiro Harada & Tetsuya Nomura will be reading this, right? Or will he? Maybe I'm thinking too hard.

Edit:

One more thing, Soul Calibur's Siegfried Schtauffen's fighting stance looks kinda like Sora's stance, but flipped, probably because Sora is Right handed while Siegfried is left handed, but Siegfried's B+G throw attack sorta looks like Terra's Finish attack.

But if Terra's supposed to be the muscle man then wouldn't he having Sora's stance make him "look" weaker? The fact that Terra swings his big 'ol Keyblade with one hand I think actually makes him look stronger.

You complete lost me with the Tekken and Soul Calibur stuff though lol.

Well what if Terra is used to have that stance and that is why he fights like that? Also, if he would hold his keyblade like Sora he would lose even more speed.

Same goes for Sora, he seems to be used to that stance and he would lose his attack power if he would use his keyblade one handedly.

And think about it: if you would be forced to suddenly change your common stance you have, would it help you or make you feel more comfortable? Probably not, it's just annoying. Sora and Terra changing stances wouldn't most likely benefit neither of them.

We could say Roxas's style very similar to Sora's but more closer to KH2 Sora (Aerial combos) thanks to his time in the Organization .

Master Xehanort: N/A (I actually haven't paid too much attention to his style but if you want to take YMX into account then it's more or less the same as Riku's and Vanitas'.)

MX's style (Old MX) is weird. I tried it before, and it doesn't work.

Nomura logic, I guess.

he uses soras the baseball bat

I mean dual keyblades.

I meant when hes dual weliding.

Roxas is exactly like KH1 Sora, they just smoothed out the game's engine in KH2

(And if you're talking about Days, the Gears were what let him use different moves)
