Heh, it's been a long time since I last made a thread on any of the KH forums. But anyway, as you all have noticed in DDD, Lea had finally got a keyblade near the end of the game. But what i want to know is: is it really necessary for him to obtain one? He was fine enough with his Chackrams, there really wasn't no need to give Lea/Axel a keyblade whatsoever other than do it out of complete fanservice. I mean really, now it just feels like just about anybody can get a keyblade nowadays. I'm sorry but it just felt like Square was all "Oh here let's give Lea a keyblade I'm sure the fangirls will love it". I mean, as much as I like to see more characters with keyblades. There was no real reason to give lea one.

 

What is your take on this?

Did anyone here complain when they saw King Mickey wielding a Keyblade at the end of the first Kingdom Hearts? Or how about Riku, or Roxas? I thought everyone thought it was awesome whenever someone got a Keyblade back in the old games, but now everyone is whining about it? If my knowledge is correct, Sora's Keyblade was referred multiple times as the Keyblade, as in the most special one out of all the rest, and the other Keyblades were just lesser compared to it. I mean, it has to be pretty powerful compared to all the rest, considering it is part of the design of the X-Blade. That said, I don't see how it makes the Keyblade less special, or at least Sora's.

...Eh. Feels like no one is special anymore.

 

Remember back when only Sora used to have a Keyblade? Oh, but let's not forget that it was actually Riku's... Then it darted back to where only Terra, Ven, Aqua, Eraqus and Xehanort did? Then Vanitas got one through Ven? And look, Mickey has one too! Then we jump back to KH1 again, and Sora and Riku both have one in addition to the most original Keyblade masters. Then we get all the way up to Chain of Memories/Days, look at that, Roxas and Xion have them too. Then KH2, even KAIRI has one now. -_- Then DDD, now Lea has one too. 

 

EDIT: Total joke. I actually don't mind it much. Certain qualities for each, ya know?

Chakrams It's half wheel so that should lessen the blow.  Wait until Kh for pc browsers comes out.

I don't mind him having one, but it is just so hard to imagine Lea using his keyblade with his fighting style >>

Come on, guys. Lea's pretty flipping awesome, and if anyone should have a keyblade he's one of them. Just take a look at everything about Lea/Axel's past. It's only natural.
