In a presentation to industry analysts and reporters, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said a price-cut for the company’s latest video game home console, the Wii U, is not an option. According to Iwata, Nintendo is already selling the Wii U at below cost, and instead of slashing the its price, Nintendo will introduce more games that are unique to the new console and ones that completely take advantage of the hardware’s capabilities.

huh. Well sucks there's no price cut but it's already not too big of a price imo. Adding games unique to it should be interesting to see.

Didn't even know there was a demand for that. I'd hoped to get it eventually anyways, so more exclusives should make it worth it.

I was under the impression it'd be twice of what it is, if it wasn't for the fact I already have 4 consoles that only have 3-5 games to each I would actually get it for myself, just would rather spend the money on getting more games for the other consoles I already have right now ,_,

Yeah I plan on getting it myself but I never buy consoles the first year they come out ..

Why would they give a price cut for a system not even 3 months old yet? :l

What the heck would it need a price cut for? The prices seem more than fair for what you get in the two model choices. I think I've read that it is actually doing pretty well at its current price point (albeit not as well as Nintendo thought/hoped) as well.

If it's to expensive just wait. It won't run away.

 

And if you fear not to get a certain game later on, than you can buy that and wait - or keep an eye on it.

The new Zelda?  Or maybe the Wind Waker remake?  Yarn Yoshi?

That stinks. Maybe in time they'll cut the price. I don't think there's a need to slash the price when it has been out for three months.
